Made it to hump day. My Pirates play in the Wild Card game tonight and I'm now 31 days out from storming the castle. Lots of intense planning and discussions amongst my travel parties! This is a very exciting time.

Still hoping that I can manage a DISDad meet up while I am there!

Also, I know a bunch of Dads are heading to WDW in the very near future. Anyone doing a TR?

For those finding fall trips harder to pull off as the kids get older, this time of year has been impossible and will remain until the kids are done with school.

Please cease and desist with the bad news! LOL.

I'm hoping to simply condition my kids to missing a few days and prepare appropriately for the workload and such. The issue for us is more around the standardized testing. I didn't care about that until I realized that the kids' scoring is factored into academic placement. We have several advanced programs in our SD and I don;t want to jeopardize my daughter's chances for that.

I'm not to worried about our DLR trip that is planned for December 2015. But the one after that has me concerned. We'll probably be going in 2018 for the 11th Anniversary of my 29th Birthday and that will be in May or early June. The kids will be older and schools might not be as keen on letting them go.

UPS just delivered a package. I am not into halloween but the Pirate Princess is (like her mother) and she wanted to dress up for MNSSHP. I said fine, whatever, and let her pick out the costumes. They just got delivered. I will be Mr. Incredible (yes, typecasting) and she will Violet. Tried it on and it fits but it is hot even in the AC. Would post a pic but I look stupid in it.

Being from Western PA, I've never thought of Miami as one of those places that make people say, "Man, I need to get out of this place."
