DIS Dads DDC XXXII: A Dole Whip in Paradise

Well everyone knows about my love of Disney and the park that shall not be named, with 2 trips pretty close to back to back I've had to do double research on both. We are staying at the new Cabana Bay in Sept and I gotta say this hotel looks awesome!

A few people on the forums have been posting pics from stays and this hotel is perfectly themed. Very excited to stay at 2 hotels new to me this fall.

Read some reviews of it, had some mixed reviews, BUT I don't think it was 100% operational when the negative points came out, otherwise, I was impressed by it. I like the retro theming idea, and the added water features for a value/moderate is a BIG plus. When we do go over to the dark side a few more years down the line, I see us trying it out.

It does stink that it doesn't come with express pass, but I understand why it doesn't, we booked it based on theme alone, I added express pass to the park tickets, love express pass esp. since it's basically a 2 1/2 day trip and the first Halloween Horror Nights is that Friday, also debating on buying tickets for that, love HHN almost as much as MNSSHP.

Lake still frozen? How long does it still frozen?

Usually thawed by end of March. Extremely cold winter. Last weekend, lake few miles from me was still 18 inches thick. Things will start to thaw fast now. 70's and sunny today!

Evening guys. Good day today with the family. Kids saw both sides of the family, we had a massive easter egg hunt in the backyard with no casualties, and the Bruins won.

DD had 2 hoop games yesterday with her team. Both games were won by 30+ points. The other teams were not that good and we were a lot bigger than they were. Moved the season record to 10-2 so far. Good start and should help us qualify year end playoffs.

Good to know. I never have done any ice fishing. Part of me would like to try a new experience, but I really don't want to get that cold.

Well, the street does have a dead end, or cul de sac as it were. They needed to get the sugar buzz out before bed. I don't think I fed either one dinner. Maybe they grazed on the leftovers. I gave up on Father of the Year years ago.

Girls made like bandits, scored three DS games from us, and Amelia announced an hour or so ago that she already finished the Olaf's Quest DS. Crazy kid..

I did a few games on the dds Nntendo DS. Then, DW got them a Nintendo 3D DS. That thing hurt my eyes and I couldn't play it.

The B's win was a high point... Just don't tell the wife...

Not running Boston. We usually watch the race somewhere along the route (we lived on the route for a number of years when we first got married), but won't this year, as I have to work. It will be a good day for the city tomorrow, but a tough one.

I wasn't judging Norm, DD was eating a chocolate bunny but decided not to break it apart and eat it so she has massive chocolate hands, my reaction def wasn't father of the year material.

There is a slide switch that turns off the 3D, it hurt my eyes too so DD has a 2D 3ds xl, doesn't make much sense.
