Foiled on kttk tour. I'm with you on FP+. I wish they had just kept the FP legacy, and used FP+ as a guest resort stay perk.

I do too, but I am hoping that FP+ is something that they can iterate on fairly rapidly now that it's in place. I think they are on about rev3 of it now. So hopefully they will smooth off the rough edges. I'm trying to not be a "AHKK! DISNEY CHANGED SOMETHING, THE ARE EVIL THEY'VE RUINED EVERYTHING" kind of guy.


I was bummed to see avengers sell out today. I'm in the lottery for NYM and I can't really swing both. I'll find out about NY tomorrow (i hope)

WDW has implemented good changes over the years - rides, DVC, MDE, etc - that I have enjoyed. FP+ seems like a step back for those of us adept using the FP legacy. I'm hoping they can tweak it and keep moving forward.

I think I have < 30% chance of getting in through the NY lottery so in all likelihood I won't get into either. On the plus side Rock N Roll Savannah is about that time too. I could run that and Savannah happens to be halfway between my house and Disney…. maybe I could swing a trip of spend some time at Disney HHI.

Me too. I think next time I plan on having a big park day, I'll treat it like I used to in that I'll get to the park at rope drop and get a ton of stuff done before 11 am. Then just schedule my 3 FP+ things for the afternoon when the lines are usually the longest.

Both kids have same spring break next year in March. I turn the big 50 in Feb and me & DW were looking at Key West. Soooooooo, 7 nights on the reimagined Magic with one of the stops in Key West

Wow it is sold out, maybe because its the first, been planning to run it next year so hopefully i can register quickly so I can do the coast to coast.

Me too. I think next time I plan on having a big park day, I'll treat it like I used to in that I'll get to the park at rope drop and get a ton of stuff done before 11 am. Then just schedule my 3 FP+ things for the afternoon when the lines are usually the longest.

That's the strategy I used this trip. I debated saving them up for the evening, when I used to hoard my legacy FPs. I'll see how it works and adjust for October.

Last week was out 3rd FP+ trip. That's the strategy we use. The only day we had issues was a day where we did AK in the morning and Studios at night. We had a TSMM fast pass and we planned to either do RNRC right after the first fantastic of the night. It would have worked out…if the ride hadn't broken down. We did wind up also missing TOT, but that was more because of a lack of desire. We did 2 half days at epcot but both were afternoons. It was a bummer to not do Soarin and TT on the same day.

I get frustrated with it sometimes but fundamentally it just requires a different touring strategy. We're back where we were with little kids. RP drop every morning, back to the resort around lunch, then a different park around noon. Only difference is now we have fast passes in the afternoon park.

I have also heard that Disney is giving some people additional fastpasses after the last one is used in a given day. We didn't experience that on this trip. Every time I tried to use MDE to manage fast passes after we redeemed the last fp on a given day I got a "something has gone wrong error message in the app"

If Disney does start letting you get additional same day Fp+s after the first 3 are redeemed that could cause me to need to tweak touring strategies again.

for a lot of the runDisney races there are DVC, AP and Disney Visa early registration options. If you really want to do one of these races that might be the ticket for you.

How quickly does the Half usually sell out? I have my calendar set to registration day for the half, I'm thinking as long as I register when it first opens I shouldn't have a problem, I'm no longer a DVC member and cannot justify AP, mom is a Disney Visa member so I imagine that wouldn't help me. Looking forward to ToT 10 miler, ran 5k in 40.30 today so def have a lot of improvement but think its a good start for my first week.
