So we are hoping to take our first cruise at the end of the year/beginning of next year. Anybody have any suggestions as to cabin location and any pointers for a first timer? We are going to be booking on the Disney Dream.
I love the inside staterooms on deck 6 aft. They have the magic porthole and are giving the appearance of being bigger

Just wanted to say prayers to everyone. I saw some requests for prayers. I read some rants. I hope all of stay well or get well or find peace. And if you find out where the thermostat is, please feel free to turn it up

Just booked BWV for Dec. 14-18, wait listed for the 13th. That is the good news. The bad news is depending on taxes, I may have to cancel the RCL cruise. Will know sometime next month.

That does sound like bad news.

Morning guys. In case anyone was wondering, the penguins left Indians because it's too damn cold!

And here I thought we all liked Jasmine as a name.

Our thought was the fact that there are so many decent names that are disney related if they really wanted to go that rout they could pick one of those names.

“Disney” as a first name would be unique to be sure. Now “Walt”… that’d be a different story. Not necessarily for a girl mind you, but still…

I dont think Disney is a kind first name for either a boy or a girl..... I just think about that poor girl living with that first name the rest of her life.... parents can be cruel sometimes.

My wife and I stayed in a room at the very back of the boat inside on the right side of the ship I think it was on the 7th floor. It was right next to the hidden deck. It was awesome too because it was a handicapped room and we had so much room. The good thing was that we could sleep whenever we wanted because the room was pitch black. We really enjoyed it and got to save a little on room price. We also just enjoyed the shows and didn't really leave the ship except for castaway cay. My suggestion is to do some of the stuff but dont try to do it all just relax.

Location either deck 10 or 9 midship for first time as this puts you close to pool decks and everything else. Some say deck 8 is best as this allows you to use stairs either up or down as elevators get crowded
We like having a verandah as we like sitting out there and taking in arriving and departing ports or just to look out to the ocean. Also allows me to get out of cabin while DW & DD are getting ready to give them more room.
Do a 4 day if possible as 3 day is too short with basically only 2 days on ship.
Book second dining if you can. It is at 8:00 but early dining time cuts into the day with having to get ready for a 5:00 dinner.
Study the website and check out trip report on the DCL section of the DIS
Do not book excursion in Nassau. Get off ship on your own as you can hit straw market and grab a lunch if you want within easy walking distance of port. Or while in Nassau we have just stayed on the ship to enjoy less crowded and eat already paid for meals.
If you like an adult beverage - take advantage of bringing on your own. Fill a carry on luggage bag and ya are good to go.

Any other questions just let me know here or pm me whatever as we have done 8 DCL and Dream twice (actually 3 as we did a back-to-back)

Good morning guys and enjoy the weekend. Hug those kids this week or for us older guys give 'em a call if they aren't at home.

Hope everyone is staying warm and safe this weekend. I got up early to do some paperwork and pay some bills. Shortly after I'm up and enjoying my coffee, 1 kid up, 2nd kid up and then the DW. So much for peace and quiet.

Tonight we'e having our friends over to watch Frozen. And they are bringing popcorn and beer. Yay for me.:thumbsup2

Sorry your peace and quiet got cut short. The only way I am guaranteed that is when I am shaving with my straight razor. They are all afraid if they disturb me I'll slit my throat.

Home school is in session for the morning since we are getting another three inches of snow and blowing snow but we may do the Despicable Me and Despicable Me 2 double feature if I get the LCD hooked up.

.

That is a pretty picture.

I am forever chasing both kids around in the morning to make sure they get on the bus.

I just don't get why they are always late.

As long as you don't cancel that October trip. I'm thirsty. :drinking1:

Hey guys, hope all is well. A little warmer today, which is nice. I think we're going to hit 30 degrees! :lmao:

Evening guys,

It's been a long day. We were up early to travel for a middle school basketball tourney. Two wins today and two more games tomorrow with the toughest of the two at 9 am . We are the only school from outside the area and the refereeing was a little suspect and DS fouled out of the first game, probably only 3 were legit fouls.

Came home to attend the wedding of a friend's son and back up early tomorrow to drive back upriver for the games and according to DW a little between games cross-border shopping.

I'm headed for Ottawa on Tuesday if any of you Toronto area Dads want a little road trip. I mean it's just a short 4 hour drive, right? :lmao:

We got a good bit of snow today in Pittsburgh but it wasn't too cold. I went out in preparation for the arctic chill we'd experienced all week and found myself sweating while snow blowing the driveway!

Sunday morning ownage.

It is a nice warm 27 degrees here now but expected to get colder again tomorrow. At least the dds were able to get outside a little while yesterday for some sunshine.

Safe travels and good luck.

Sure thing. Just send along your checking account and routing number :)

That was not a part of our original deal. Pray I don't alter it further. :darth:

Good morning Dads slow morning here.... I guess that means I have to go do some work....

Thanks guys, it was just incredulous what was said. I've seen it before where she's kept her kids home JUST because busses were cancelled, but not the schools. When you live 15 minutes away that is no excuse.

If for any other reason though SUCK IT UP. You are freaking Canadian. Rofl.

:thumbsup2
