SATURDAY NIGHT OWNAGE!

We had our first hoop tournament today for both kids. DS played a team that has to be on PED's. The point guard (shortest on the team) was taller than our center. They were all huge, athletic and skilled. We lost by like 40. DS played great on defense.

DD lost a tight one in game 1, but in game 2 she scored the teams final 5 baskets (10 straight points unanswered), to take the victory in game 2. She is getting great coaching and their skills are showing.

Been a bit busy so not much time for much of anything.

I tried clicking my heels together and saying "There's no place like Disney" but it didn't work with boots!!

November 15th can't get here soon enough!

Afternoon/Evening Guys.

2 losses and a tie in soccer today. Only had one bad half and the rest of the issues was positioning. It's getting better, 2 games and 2 practices this week to get it better.

Just remember that the important thing is they are learning. Keep them working hard, pretty soon you'll be wining them all.

After reading all this adoption and getting pregnant talk. . .I think I now understand what happened. I guess that's why my wife has been throwing up daily for the last month or so. Doctor said it's natural. Oh, yeah, we're having another kid. My guys still work.

The good news on the soccer front was the tie was our last game and we scored 2 in the 2nd half to even it up. Finished on a positive.

Basketball tryouts today for DS, soccer game for me tonight and finish off DS's bedroom so I can get some pictures to show you all those funky colours.

No Johnny moments yet. But, with Netflix at $7.99 per month, there is a lot of tv shows and movies there, without all the commercials. Yes, only having network tv for live sports is difficult, but it is what it is.

I've matched up with teams, where there was maybe not a PED issue, but certainly and age or super stacking of the teams. I enjoy the competition in sports, and knowing that in this time slot, an individual or team was better than another. What I don't understand is parents, organizations, etc deliberately cheating to stack a team to win a 5th grade sports match. Now, I get it why an individual may cheat at a younger age to get to the pro level for $. But, I really don't understand why someone cheats for a team trophy that boasts of an elementary school championship.

I enjoy the competition in sports, and knowing that in this time slot, an individual or team was better than another. What I don't understand is parents, organizations, etc deliberately cheating to stack a team to win a 5th grade sports match. Now, I get it why an individual may cheat at a younger age to get to the pro level for $. But, I really don't understand why someone cheats for a team trophy that boasts of an elementary school championship.

I hear you. Our middle school district has a fair play policy and it burns me to watch certain schools (always the same schools) disregard that policy. In the case of the soccer team I am coaching it created a larger team than I wanted and it certainly makes it harder to win but the kids all get a chance to play. For a few of the grade 8 kids I am certain this year will be the last year they play for a school based team, possibly in any sport.

It's an ego stroke for the coach/some parents. Of course none of them have figured out that it really doesn't matter in the larger scope of things. My son has a friend whose father pulls his kid from teams constantly because he doesn't make the "elite" team or can't play the position he wants him to play. There's a life lesson. If your not the bet you don't get to play. They just make an excuse why he can't play all of a sudden.

Played Arkham Horror last night, a super nerdy and lengthy board game, ate pizza, drank beer, and cookies too! I havent eaten this much junk in a while as I'm dieting down for the upcoming trip in November, or as I call it "The Disney Cut", which is followed by "The Disney Bulk"

Beer of the night:

This brew is amazing! I only had one, because I needed to stay coherent(9%ABV), but I'd definitely recommend finding some of this stuff!
