I'd be happy to send some your way. I swear I got transplanted to Seattle.

Just checking in real fast before heading out to play golf them tennis later. My dad and aunt took all the grand kids to Wisconsin Dells for a few days.

what is the really cool part I thought....... when we were walking in the mk when she wasn't working, some cast members walk by her and say " briana"!
it was odd at first till I realized the kid works here and she works outside so she sees a lot of cast members. we met a few of her trainers just walking around.
I have to tell you, when we were saying good bye Saturday night, she started crying. which made tammy start crying. tammy said January will be here before you know it. (January is her release date) she said I don't want to come home, I want you guys to move here. :scratchin

the hours are long
the people are nuts
but all in all, I never seen the kid with out a smile on her face other then when we were leaving. :rotfl2:

Dave.... your gonna make us all cry.

:grouphug:

Yeah, had some dust here too.

Don't think Boston should have took a page out of the Leafs' playbook there.

:rolleyes1

Congrats to Chicago! and Thank goodness the season is over, this is way too late for the playoffs to go.

:thumbsup2

Way way to late.... Unless the Leafs are in it of course. :rotfl2:

Well, I got a letter in the mail last week telling me to call the courthouse this afternoon to see if I have to report for jury duty tomorrow. The phone call has been made.. :headache:

Wish me luck.:faint:

Good luck. I know I'm a little late, but hopefully it went your way. I always get released. Must have something to do with the constant muttering to myself.

Good afternoon guys! Stopping in real quick to say hi. No time to go back and catch up on the last week. It was hot and sunny in Florida, just like I prefer. Hope all is well for everyone!

Congrats on taking the cup back to Chicago. The better team won, but I don't have to like it. Good season for the B's, it was a fun ride.

‘Morning all…
Ain’t much good about it, but it is morning…

Rob, CJ is Italian, don't ask where the money comes from :lmao:

That was pretty much the direction I was headed.

I just lack a similar support structure. :rotfl2:

Is that sort of like snipe hunting? ;) Always a good time though!

So long as there is beer :thumbsup2

Collage Tuition… :faint:

I’m considering taking on a second job but unless I come up with some other options or a spate of serious good fortune we’ll be 15 to 20 years paying for it. Conditions like that will rather seriously crimp our ability to expend bucks on any luxury.

I’d certainly like to be able to continue traveling like we have up until now, but I don’t know that I can justify it under the current conditions. We’ll see how thing develop across the next months and years.

Not bloody likely mate… pirate:

I easily out lasted, out walked, out stood and out endured both of the eighteen-year-old traveling with me this past trip. I’m a rather tough old bird (just not a wealthy one).

Don't let college stop you! Where there's a will there's a way. I know you don't have the time, but we are building up the vacation account for when we get to those crazy college tuition days. We still have 5 years and by then I'll probably need to donate body parts in order for the kids to attend college.

Good luck!

:sad1::sad1: It's always tough being away. Thanks for all the pics and updates. Let Brianna know she'll have plenty of visitors to keep her spirits up.

Either Friday night or Saturday. If it's saturday I'll shoot you a text.:thumbsup2

How long are you up there for? We very well may end up in that area some point in the next week, it's about 35 minutes from our place in Maine.

We are there Friday through Monday, heading back Monday night. I'll PM you me cell number in case you are in the area. If you reply with yours, it wouldn't take much to convince me to drive up Monday night for a quick dinner. I know one day is a StoryLand day. My kids are a little old, but love spending the time with their cousins.

I know I'll get flack for this opinion, but I have to air it somewhere. I am very sad to hear Disney is going to do this. It's bad enough that shows are getting more sexually charged with every passing day... at younger and younger audiences. Now they want to push the agenda of promoting gay families to our kids on the Disney Channel, too? :headache:

CJ is paying for college, European vacations, and camper hookups. See Rob, it's possible.

I feel your pain Rob. Yes, I am able to pay for college and do some traveling. How? First I know I am lucky. The Kid also got a chunk of change from SH and she is good about keeping her expenses down while at school. I also don't have many monthly expenses. No mortgage or car payment so my living expenses are low. Plus these last two big trips were a lot less expensive than what they would normally cost. DVC paid for the Aluani and Disneyland rooms. So far this trip I have had to pay for only one night in a hotel. Both in the UK and Germany I stayed in my friend's house/apartment. Paris and London are a different story.

Finally, I quit worrying about adding to my retirement for the moment. After I got out of the hospital and the months of recovery, I adopted a different attitude. If I can afford it and want to do it, it is going to happen. Saying that, this will probably be the last big trip for a couple of years. Like I said though, I am lucky.

i dont remember what I posted or didn't.:lmao: last but not least.

im beat, 3:45am comes quick.

Great pic and story Dave. Always tough to leave your little one.

Morning guys :thumbsup2

Rob, CJ is Italian, don't ask where the money comes from :lmao:

You got that right Duck.

HAWKS WIn! HAWKS Win! What a finish and comeback by the HAWKS! What a series and my heart goes out to the Boston fans.

Congrats on the win! The B's had a great season and a good run, but lost to a better overall team. It would have been a lot more fun watching a game 7 in Chicago though. ;)

Now to see what our team will look like next year. Horton most likely gone. Good young defensemen that played some good time in the playoffs looks like at least 2 verterans (Ferrence and maybe Boychuck?) will be gone. The money to sign Tuka will likely determine how many stay and how many go. I don't see how they sign both Tuka and Horton and Tuka certainly won't be let go.

I think I am beginning my mid life crisis :confused3, At work I am a old timer (since 1986) most of the people at work could almost be my kid ,when compared to people on TV, lately it's been Barry from storage wars & Uncle Si from Duck Dynasty:rotfl:, at get togethers with friends we all talk about retirement how soon and how we plan to get there:scared1:

It's not all that bad though, still young enough to try new ventures & have many friends that are in the same boat, that I have been friends with since before we went to school, on the way back from Va we are all meeting up at one of my friend's house in Del to see if we can start the ball rolling, at least through ideas on the table:confused3

Sounds like about time to by a new sports car.:thumbsup2

Morning guys :thumbsup2

Morning guys....finally some rain, but I don't think it'll break the humidity. At least the store is well air conditioned!

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

We had some pretty intense T-storms last night, good sized hail. Supposed be a repeat performance tonight to go with the mid 90's and humidity.

I hope everyone is feeling better.

DS got a pretty good sunburn yesterday as well (at grandmothers swimming.). Hopefully he learned a lesson on where not to miss with the lotion.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good morning gents and thank goodness the Stanley Cup Finals is over as my heart wasnot gonna be able to take a game 7

Did not intend to pry & sorry if I did, but completely understand with our first one heading off this fall. We are lucky to be in a position to be able to still vaca especially with scholarships. Good luck and hopefully you can find a way to go maybe just not as often as in the past.
glad to here he is interested and has time to look into the program............
Thanks for the continued insights, information and sharing of Brianna's great story. DS still has some time as he is only a Sophmore in HS but he is starting to take a serious look at what he wants to do after HS. Please keep the updates coming from her experiences and again glad your family had a great time on your recent visit.

:thumbsup2

Way way to late.... Unless the Leafs are in it of course. :rotfl2:

Nope, still too late (and don't worry, the Leafs will never be in it.:lmao::lmao:). Even as a B's fan, it was way too late. Just look at the ice for the finals, it became a discussion point that it was slushy due to the warmer outside temps and you don't get that when you finish in May. In my humble opinion, there's something not right about a winter sport being played after summer has started.

No flack. I agree and will take the hit with you.:headache: We have friends that are openly gay and it has never even been a second thought and we have had the discussions with our kids. However, I think promoting it at such a young age is a little much. At this point, just having a complete family is getting to be uncommon with the divorce rates. I miss Leave it to Beaver.

Agreed... the traditional marriage is failing big time these days. I believe we are just now seeing the beginning of major social issues in our future.

I only wish it could have happened in Chicago.

Agreed. ABC Family is bad enough with all the trash they put on that "family" channel. Someone should thaw out Walt so he can fix what's happening to his empire. I've just been waiting for the 'Hawks to win the cup so I could cancel my tv programming. I'll be making that call soon.

Spent the day at the apartment downloading pictures and kicking back. Going out tonight for dinner. Some random pics...

The Pirate Princess participated in something called Hashing. Invented by the UK army near the end of WWII, it involves a "hare" setting a trail that the "pack" follows. The hare is a bit sneaky and lays out false trails to throw off the pack.

The Brit's BIL is an avid Hasher. He invited her to run and is pointing out the markings for the trail.

Wood shavings on the country parts and flour for pavement mark the trail. The arrow means you are on the trail, the X shows you followed a wrong lead. Crash got lost once following a wrong trail.

A and her running partner nearing the finish line.

Of course, it always ends up at a pub. This is in Wellington.

As a first timer, she had to down a beer. Took her a while but she somewhat finished it. Here she is with the last sips.

She enjoyed it (I enjoyed the pub part). It is a worldwide phenomena and she is going to look to see if there is one in NJ.

We also stopped by the first Cast Iron Bridge built. An engineering marvel of the time (Finished in 1779).

The river it crosses

The listing of tolls

Last night with the group

And our last sunset in Shropshire

On the way to Dover we stopped by the Battle of Britain Memorial. A foggy afternoon but it lent to the somberness of the memorial.

That is it for now. Maybe some pics of Calais and Germany tomorrow.

Went home for lunch and as soon as I walked through my front door I was engaged by a hostile 5 year old armed with a repeating Nerf gun.
anim_uzi.gif

Caught off guard, I had but one option to "UnA$$" the area, regroup and consider options.

Once the offender was clearly out of ammo and unable to reload, he made a quick retreat to his stronghold in the back of the house. In true insurgent form, he then reappeared unarmed and seemingly oblivious to the attack.:confused3

At that time, a second ambush was launched by an Irish 30 something Banshee, utilizing same Nerf style weaponry.
anim_rocket.gif

I again conducted a tactical exfil in order to regroup.
anim_brick.gif

By the time I returned, both suspects were perched on the couch feigning innocence, and indignant that I would accuse them of such a brazen attack.:rolleyes1

At this time....a counterattack is being planned.
anim_dracula.gif

That is all.

Lunch hour in the Fed Household
Escalation is a must. Liquid retalation is a must. Start with a bombing campaign of water balloons. When their defenses are down and they start running, send in the ground units armed to the teeth with Super Soakers.

Afternoon all…
Back home after what may well be our last trip to The World.
We’re pretty sure we left it in relatively usable condition for the rest of ya’ though.
Welcome back Rob!

Morning...

Not sure if it is a good thing or a bad thing, but I'm back at work. At least I'm not on a jury. They signed us all in and then they came out and informed us that we were called in for a criminal case, but they reached a resolution on it this morning and we were free to go. :cool1::banana::woohoo:

Nice pics, CJ. How sweet that you were there for her first beer!:rolleyes1

Yea, I saw her drink her first LEGAL beer. It wasn't there though, it was the first day we were at the Brit's house.

She had problems downing the half pint they gave her so she is either faking it or has not had much practice chugging. She is getting a charge out of her legal status here.

Congrats on avoiding jury duty.
