Hunting down??? :confused3

I bake all those cakes... I keep them here for 2 days, in case a dad comes to claim them... if not, my kids eat them. ;)

Riiiiiiiight…
I’ve seen recent pictures of you’re youn’ens.
They ain’t eating that much cake.

Now, you on the other Hand…

Nope, they are owned by the big breweries.

The OPSEU facebook and homepages had pictures of some sort of media event today, but no info for us telling us what the status of anything is. By now last time had at least something to vote on, but nothing. No idea how negotiations are going, how far apart etc, completely clueless. The beverly deadline is now 4 days away, and I have idea what the beverly is going on !!!! :furious:

May the more rational folks involved in the conversation prevail.

That does assume there are some of them that are actually rational though, now don’t it?

According to CityNews, they are encouraging customers to stock up...

It doesn't sound good.

The news will always err toward the horrific.
It sells more commercials.

They are saying that part timers have no consistncy of hours.
1 week, they may work 20-30 hours, next week only 2.
about 60 - 70% of the workers are part time.
According to Craig Hadley - OPSEU

Hummmm…
That’s how all workers are treated down here.
And joining a union is not an option.

Joining the unemployed…
That’s always an option.

The wealthy down here have a long history related to controlling the labor force.
They’re good at it.

I'm dangerously unqualified!

That right there is an almost perfect Tag.
Don’t know if the Tag Fairy might just happen to be paying attention, but I’m just sayin’.

Looks like a busy day of posting. Everyone working at their usual pace.

They ain’t eating that much cake.
’.

I like cake.

The Pirate Princess Pirate has officially finished her Freshman year. Last final was today. She catches a plane around eight and will be home somewhere near midnight. No tuition checks for 4 months. One quarter of college paid for.
.

Congrats to the both of you. Will she be working a summer job, or do you plan to have her get the yard ready with camper hook-ups for all of us.

Top Gun came out past the days when I went to many movies. I hate to say it but I have never seen it..

You must have felt so lost in all these posts.

:lmao::rotfl2: Glad you guys are having fun with this. I was starting to think Scooby Doo had taken over Top Gun. Zoikes! Zarf! :rotfl:

What, would you prefer we return to discussing the number of Superbowls won by the Eagles?

Good
Need a little advice on a topic that the DisDads hold close to their hearts, er, stomachs. Dining at WDW. We booked our trip so late that there are not a lot of options open but here is what we have planned:

Sunday 6/16 - Arrive at WDW late morning. MK for Father's Day with a late lunch/early dinner at Crystal Palace
Monday 6/17 - Epcot - Akershus Storybook breakfast at 11:00. Dinner TBD
Tuesday 6/18 - Morning AK then rest of day at HS. Flame Tree BBQ for lunch. Sci-Fi for dinner.
Wednesday 6/19 - MK until early evening before heading to our beach resort. Be Our Guest lunch.

So my questions are: which Epcot CS do you like for dinner? I love the Tangerine Cafe but DW and DD's won't eat there. Also, for the BOG CS how early should we line up? That was DD7's one dining request for this trip and obviously no chance for a dinner ressie this late in the game.

I like the one over in th Land, because that is one of my favorite rides. And, I think I get to take the ride with me, literally. I also like pretzel and beer along the countries in the WS. But, I think our plan this year, other than F&W, is to just buy a couple of bags of karamel Korn from karamel Kuche.

And yet again Monday rolls around and I still don't feel like the weekend even happened.
.

Talk to that mean ole boss about a new 3 day weekend company policy.

I agree !! Mondays just let you know you are still alive !!

So do Tuesdays. And, you get a three day weekend.

Now that I've had my dad's pick up for a month, I'm starting to understand his biggest complaint. I already am on my fourth haul for someone who doesn't have a pick up. And with the outlaws buying a cabin, I'm sure there will be even more trips. To be fair, today's trip is for my dad.

Are you charging gas money for those trips? (not to your dad).

back to back 3-day weekends? something fishy here
I get a 3-day in a couple weeks then work every day till my Aug. trip.

Three day weekends are great. You don't know what you are missing.

Nothing much here. Finished my first four day week. I love my my job but grave yard is tough to get used to.
?

What shift are you working? Are you permanent or swing shift?

Its tough going from dad coach to regular coach. I am a coach at the YMCA and see alot of kids who aren't used to listening to another coach. It will get better for both of you if you have a decent coach. Once everyone gets use to who is in charge they will be fine.

Unfortunately, we don't have a very good coach. I did a couple of his first practices to help him out and gave him some other drills he could use. He didn't. The two practices I couldn't make, he had my daughter run part of the practice and then just had them scrimmage the rest of the time. Then, we haven't had practice in three weeks. So, if we do rec league again, then I'll have to coach her. She is good enough to make the select team, but she is not guaranteed playing time and it involves traveling.

So, what is better? I coach her and she gets playing time against average & below average competition. Or, she plays against better competition, spend 4 hours minimum on game and travel time(some overnight), and she's not guaranteed playing time. The whole thing is that she will be 9 in June. Isn't it too early for a travel team?

That's a tough choice. She will only be 8 once and children seem to have to grow up so fast anymore. I am a supporter of kids experiencing losing. I don't like leagues where there is no score and everyone gets a trophy. Maybe having some challenges this year will cause her to want to get better/work harder.

I agree with you completely. Sports is all about competition. You play to win the game. If someone doesn't want the pressure of competition, then don't play sports.

Saw both DW and Amelia preform at church today, both did very well. :thumbsup2

Very proud of Amelia who overcame her stagefright/shyness to preform in front of people..

Bravo to them, and congrats to dd on the public performance.

Some stuff got posted this afternoon, still nothing other then grumblings and threats of strike action, and clips of different media coverage. Tomorrow should prove to be busy.

If I'm going to be stressed and miserable, everyone else should be too...I'm watching the Leafs tonight, curse be damned!:rotfl2:

Tell me about it. I was threatened at my last job just because my brother belonged to a union. Not even the same industry, but they told me if i talked to him i would be fired for attempting to unionize a "right to work" job site.
There is a reason I don't work there anymore.

I was on a traveling soccer team by that age. The league I was in started traveling to tourneys for the 6-8 kids and started 2 day trips for the 10-12 teams.
The teams I coach now are non-competitive co-eds, mainly because they are "troubled" kids so we are working more on social skills disguised as sports. Next summer I am putting my DD (6) in city league sports and they have out of town tourneys, not sure how much playing time she will get but we will just run drills at home if she is not happy with the amount of time she gets.

Hope it works out. Tell your union rep to quit watching the playoffs and get busy with the contract. They did not schedule this well.

I am a lot more vague with stuff on facebook as I am friends with a union rep, and don't necessarily trust everyone I am friends with if I shoot my mouth off, if anyone sees anything weird posted and wonders (as opposed to the normal weird stuff I post) :rotfl2:

You weren't vague at all. ;)

:lmao:

3 day weekend is coming up but DW says there is work to do at home. Coaching is so that is one thing off the plate though.

What a rough game... Anyone see that elbow Van Riemsdyk took to break his nose... And no penalty?? :confused3

I'm not the biggest union fan, personally. And every issue that seems to be on the forefront doesn't even affect me! Bleh

Yeah, there is something else that irks me. My co-worker IS a union rep and has been put up in hotels etc for confrences, went to a luncheon Sunday and out of no where had tix to game 6 :sad2: Don't want to accuse, he's a friend, and the only one I have at the store, BUT the timing is kinda odd.
