I wish....

I just want job security. I am fine with my pay to be honest. An extra week of vacation would be nice to avoid physical burnout. And I don't want my benefits slashed not with all the meds we require etc. I'd be very happy with that.
All the best to you during this tough time and here's hoping all works out for you and your family and in a quick manner.

Business Insider has an article on the web today that Iger is hinting about a Star Wars theme park. I assume that means a world inside an existing park.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/disney-ceo-bob-iger-hints-142800629.html

Not sure if the link will work, but it was an interesting read. Not really any substance, but we can all wish right?

DS who wants to be an Imagineer, keeps bringing up an interesting point in that Star Wars has so many different "lands" / planets what would make a good Disney theme park specific land? Tatooine, Coruscant, Endor, Kashyyyk, etc? Or, does Starwars Land end up being 3 connected SW planets keeping with a "trilogy" theme?

How about Ottowa up on the Canadiens? Now no one guessed that one. Can't say I would be sorry to see Ottowa win. Hate that bunch of floppers. All they do is instigate until they can fake a penalty. Oh! and it makes it easier for the Bruins. Ya, I could deal with no Pittsburgh too. Not sure NYI has the horses to finish them off.

Also got to wonder about Vancouver, two years in row with home ice advantage and they get whacked in the first round.

I think that's what most of us want. It's kind of sad really. Many in our generation don't expect raises and bonuses. We'd really just like for things to not go backwards.

And isn't that sad that we accept that stupid stuff. I just don't understand how so many have become so greedy. Even more sad is that most of these people claim to be Christian. I am all for making profits (and my 401Ks appreciate it), but not at the expense of those doing the work.

I
Ready to kill a couple of people here at work. Everyday all "so, are you ready to walk?" These people work like they've been in strike for the past year or so. Bet you they will sit at home and wait for it to be resolved, rather the picket or anything.

Prayers.

I'm not a fan of it, to be sure, but I'll get a small amount of strike pay to do it, gotta bring money in somehow, got to pay bills still. There are those who want better pay/benefits/job security, but as long someone else fights for it, not them themselves.

For the record, I just want to work and go home to family.

Solidarity. At least you have that source of income. My FIL is union and lasted thru several.

I just saw an article on Yahoo saying that Carrie Underwood will be replacing Faith Hill on the opening song for Sunday Night Football this year.

I've gotta say, I'm a little bit disappointed. ]

Maybe they'll dress Carrie up like that for a comparison.

Maybe Star Wars land can replace avatar land in AK.

When I think about my Beverly of a day I could get really :furious:, but then I remember this too shall pass.

For those of you on Team Sparrow that have a stash of rum, feel free to have one on my behalf though.

Sorry to hear about the day. I'll drink one for you.

Walking to the bus from work, I saw a muskrat in a creek. Not very exciting, but unusual in a city like this.

Well said

Simple, Luongo is not the goalie people think he is. It's why I cringed at the leafs trade rumours. If the leafs go out first round, no probs, it's freaking Boston after all, bUT at least we were not sept out.

Still a week till we "walk out" we'll know by the am of the 17th

As a Leaf fan, I respect Montreal, not so much Ottawa. I miss knocking them out of playoffs year after year.

Let's go Bulls!

Now that I got that out of the way today turned out to be pretty good. I got the results of my yearly review and it was neutral (I got a 3 out of 5) so I got the company standard 2.5% raise. What this means is I am doing my job and short of a miracle or discovering a way to save a bunch of money there is no way to get a 4. I've gotten 4's before but that was when our company was making a lot of money. Last year I got stuck with a 2 and no raise because our company requires a forced distribution (which is complete beverly) and I was stuck in the middle of a bureaucratic mess.

So basically I'm back to where I was last year before our taxes went up.

Good morning gentlemen

Just thought I'd pop in quick. I'm starting to pick up more shifts at work. I'll be going from 16 to 32 hours a week. So, I'll be on very sporadically. But it'll help pay for Disney among other stuff.

I understand. I'm trying to work all the OT I can get as often as I can so I can pay The Mouse!

Geting up bright and early? the BOG ressies are brutal...:sad2:

Cool...She just missed out on a lot last time, so plans to make up for it....keeps talking about Tower of Terror, should be interesting, she'll be 5 by the time we get there.

Our vertically challenged DS7 rode Tower of Terror & claims it to be "off the hoozle". I guess he liked it?

Leafs off to good start tonight after 1 period and about what I thought Lebron and the Heat would do to the Bulls but still a lot of game left in both :happytv:

Forced stack ranking is aweful. I was a manager at MSFT and most of the people on my team were friends that were industry experts. Having to stack rank friends that you manage and assign someone as the poor performer when everyone has done awesome is not fun.

While we were at WDW this weekend there were a couple of neat t-shirts. I am not sure if this one was for May the 4th, but it was one of my favorites.

So, what'd I miss?:confused3

Busy day today. Had to pick up my FIL from the hospital. They found an artery in his heart that had a 99% blockage and put in a stent yesterday. He's already complaining about the hospital and saying he doesn't think the procedure will help his health any, so I'd say he's well on the road to recovery.

Prayers for your dad Mark... Hopefully it was caught before real problems happend.

I think the Bulls forgot what sport they are playing. Maybe they think it's hugging time. They need to stop flopping, man up, and play defense. All the little back pushes and hugging is getting old.

Ryan someone is looking for you at our other home lol
