I blame DW....unless it's a Saturday night, I can't watch games, or they lose. I wanted to flip to the game at 2-0, but resisted. DW put the game on ...2-1....2-2....off then again to put it at 3-2.. I'm cursed I tells ya!

just figured my sig. by new years eve is going to be: 40years.....57 trips.....426 days and counting.
just in case she extends, I banked 23 dvc points into next year. ill have 423 points for next year so im covered if we have to make a trip every other month again for awhile next year. if I have to I could always borrow 400 from the following year if I need but I hate to do that.

I think the Bulls forgot what sport they are playing. Maybe they think it's hugging time. They need to stop flopping, man up, and play defense. All the little back pushes and hugging is getting old.

Been watching the Leafs & Bruins mostly as the Bulls / Heat ain't much of a game. I do trust the KY & IN basketball opinions though so I will have to watch for this. Consider though, the Heat do whine a lot when they play Chicago but seeing how the heat are routing 'em tonight not sure either makes any difference.

DW and I made a decision tonight to both take mental health days tomorrow, and book our trip since the RO deal is open to the general public. It'll almost be like a date!

Being as I tried get into anything other then actually working yesterday, I got to do the opposite today.
Worth it though, I needed the mental break (or is that mental breakdown)…

I think that's what most of us want. It's kind of sad really. Many in our generation don't expect raises and bonuses. We'd really just like for things to not go backwards.

Security would be good.
As for the notion of raises and bonuses…
In thirty-two years I’ve received only three bonuses and none since the mid 90’s (right about the time that the textile import quotas expired). The last salary adjustment I got was an 8.5% decrease in 2006 as a condition of not being thrown out the door. It hasn’t been adjusted in any fashion since (yep, stagnant for the last seven years). Benefits have been cut, insurance has doubled and 401k’s are no longer matched at all so I do have that going for me though.

Now that I got that out of the way today turned out to be pretty good. I got the results of my yearly review and it was neutral (I got a 3 out of 5) so I got the company standard 2.5% raise. What this means is I am doing my job and short of a miracle or discovering a way to save a bunch of money there is no way to get a 4. I've gotten 4's before but that was when our company was making a lot of money. Last year I got stuck with a 2 and no raise because our company requires a forced distribution (which is complete beverly) and I was stuck in the middle of a bureaucratic mess.

So basically I'm back to where I was last year before our taxes went up.

Now that came off sounding selfish and snide which is not what I was after.
I wish that compensation was a fairer prospect for everyone, but that’s not how it works.

While we were at WDW this weekend there were a couple of neat t-shirts. I am not sure if this one was for May the 4th, but it was one of my favorites.

Very cool… I might have to save my pennies for one of those.

welcome new dads!! been veeeeery busy the last few weeks. got all four vacations ready to go. 4 trips to wdw in 8 months is fun trying to keep straight. work is busy which is a good thing. picked up a few new guys.
we will be leaving next sat. at 3am for wdw!!! I cant believe its almost here all ready. got the stacks of paper work done, got everything paid, printed, read and signed. briana did her last step last night and checked in on line with her roomie. she is pumped and ready to go!!!
this time in two weeks she will be going through traditions. she told me not to worry, she will be thinking of me while shes working for the mouse.im sure I will get plenty of pictures. did I mention she is a rotten kid and will be rubbing my big nose in it for the next nine months.
for the guys going down soon, I will be there all day on may 19th and 20th. briana moves in on the 20th but the 19th is open.
if I don't get back on the boards, I will try to post where she will be working when I found out.

Very cool and way be proud of DD. We will be on the lookout for her when we hit MK on June 7. Big time so enjoy every minute of this.

To be fair, I hear a lot of things, IMO the union are as big at the BS propaganda as the government is. I wish I really knew how things are. Wage freeze was brought up, and that has people's arms in the air, since cost of living and taxes keep getting higher.

If you stayed in studios at OKW, you could get what, 5 or 6 straight weeks at WDW?

The Heat do there share of whining. I didn't like Hack-a-Shack defense. I Just want to see the players play.

DS who wants to be an Imagineer, keeps bringing up an interesting point in that Star Wars has so many different "lands" / planets what would make a good Disney theme park specific land? Tatooine, Coruscant, Endor, Kashyyyk, etc? Or, does Starwars Land end up being 3 connected SW planets keeping with a "trilogy" theme?.

An Imagineer sounds like a good job. I'm afraid neither of my dds shows any interest in that. I'm kinda thinking dancer aboard a cruise ship. Or, maybe that is my dream.

Is this good or bad?

It's a good thing. Taxes went up at the beginning of the year so we were bringing in less than the last couple of years.

Forced stack ranking is aweful. I was a manager at MSFT and most of the people on my team were friends that were industry experts. Having to stack rank friends that you manage and assign someone as the poor performer when everyone has done awesome is not fun.

Yes, I've had numerous discussions with my boss (who I get along with very well) and my co-workers. When they force a distribution on a small group of 5 or 6 people who work well together it hurts morale. But, we work for a large corporation so you just need to know how to make sure the system doesn't work against you. Funny thing was that last year when I took the bad evaluation they gave me a promotion. Do you really think they would have promoted me if my performance was bad?

I think you have flopping mixed up with something else. It's been a physical series thus far and the Bulls were fouling hard trying to get in the Heat's heads. Miami was pretty physical early on tonight too. The Bulls just don't have enough viable healthy options to foul that much. I don't think there was much chance for the Bulls to win tonight.
