‘Morning all…

Spent Sunday on the road traveling to see the SC All-State Honors Bands performances. One of the best concerts I’ve had the opportunity to hear in a long while. Needless to say, we’re pretty proud of our boy for earning the chance to play on such a high level.

What’ch y’all been up to?

Just got home from DS hoop game. Won by 7. DS had a strong game, but we had one forward with 20 points to lead us. On to the finals of the winners bracket tomorrow. The win means we can finish no worse than 3rd. Woo-hoo!

Another fine weekend performance for the young’ens of a fellow DisDad.

Finally saw my raise applied to paycheck this week. Worked out to about $5/hour increase. The really great thing about it was that it did indeed get applied to both my jobs, and not just the one that gave me the raise... so that is some really great luck!!

We still have a tentative return to Disney planned for late June, but just can’t get all the scheduling and obstacles cleared yet. I suspect that ticket prices will go up in April, so we hope to have a final commitment from everyone involved sometime this month.

Been off the boards for about 2 weeks with the vacation and then getting caught up at work. Was going to post a nice trip report from the cruise, but afterwards determined it would be _really_ boring.

Long story short... weather was quite chilly, we did very little of interest in the ports, and I ended up spending a night in the med center after passing out in the atrium (followed by a day in my cabin).

All told a nice time and it was nice to relax. Just wish things would have turned out a bit different.

Well... off to catch up around the boards!

Back from the dentist for a cleaning - no cavities or zebra cavity searches. I decided to just take the rest of the day off.

We don't have a trip planned until October. Usually, we have a Spring trip planned to either WDW or the beach. We will meet up with David and him family for a zoo trip in Louisville, which will help offset the wait.

We're in a one-bedroom villa with an island/garden view. Renting DVC points from a friend so we don't pay rack rate. My wife's birthday is this coming Saturday so we'll reveal it to her then.

Took the Carnival Pride from Baltimore to the Bahamas. Not exactly sure what happened, as I didn't feel ill. They put me on 'quarantine' in my cabin for the next day just to be safe. After spending a couple hours in the med center with an IV of course All I really remember is going down to the casino to meet my wife, getting a bit dizzy and starting for our cabin, and then waking up on the floor of the atrium.

Oh well, like I mentioned before... was still a really nice trip.

Mine swallowed a small, round battery. Went to ER and it had made its way out of the stomach - the regular flow way.



Good get. I saw that on FB. Near Hospitality House HH is great for quick access to QS, feature pool, boat launch, and community hall. But, turtle pond is a really nice area with a quiet pool, QS, and shuffleboard.

I would have gone to the ER as well had it been a battery. Glad it wasn't. Glad yours passed.

Good Morning Guys!

Well DS team lost by 4 last night. Now we have to beat a different TBD team on Friday to face them again in the finals. It was a great game and they just hit more shots at the end than we did and hit their foul shots. The boys played well and gave it everything. I actually feel bad for the team we end up playing on Friday. The boys are &^^%$^& that they lost and are looking for a victim.

DW, MIL, and I talked about our plans for Disney while the kids were in ear shot. DD packed her carry on bag and her brother's while we were talking. Apparently she doesn't understand 203 days is a long time still.

That's awesome! Teaches you to make sure they are asleep and not eavesdropping though.

Funny, I was so tired before that right after putting the kids to bed, I passed out, fully clothed, face down on the bed. (I was having trouble reading DD's bedtime story because I couldn't keep my eyes open). Then DW wakes me up to look at her laptop because she has a virus.

So here I am. Downloaded and ran some free spyware, and then a complete system tune-up software that worked okay... but then had an option for "turbo mode" which killed some background processes and really sped the laptop up. I think she'll be happy in the morning.

Then it was time to watch The Walking Dead on the DVR, since I was up. Now I'm watching the re-air and waiting for Talking Dead.

Just booked and paid for our room for Marathon Weekend 2014 today. We ended up renting points to stay at OKW. We're DVC but used all our points for the upcoming summer trip. Could have borrowed from next year, but we're planning on banking most of them to 2015 for our big 10-year anniversary trip. Made more sense to rent points for the cheap season, then to borrow and then end up needing to possibly rent in the higher demand summer season.

Speaking of the marathon, I slacked on running the past few days. Weather did me in on thursday, and working 4 shifts between friday and saturday wiped me out. I'll get back out there tomorrow.

Good morning gentlemen. Just suffering through the last cold snap before spring. I can't wait to hit the golf course.

Thanks for the reassurance. I felt better once he coughed up the nickel and stopped crying and gagging. I swallowed a refrigerator magnet once, but I was older (old enough to remember) so I just fear something getting stuck. But I figure if it can pass the esophagus, it can make it the rest of the way.


I just hope they don't spend too much time trying to fill in the gap between Ep. VI and VII. I think all the fans will understand that a lot of time has passed. Concentrate on the direction the films are heading, and not the past.

DS is doing well. In good spirits. No sign of any loose change in his diaper.



It's never to early to start planning!

DS swallowed a nickel once. it took about a week to work its way through. If you don't find anything in a week you might want to go to the doctor so they can do an X-ray.

The Star Wars Expanded Universe has books that stretch out 40 years past ROTJ. If they pick up at that point there is a lot of back story for the casual fan to cover. There are holes in the timeline where they can fit a trilogy. It will be interesting to see which route they take.

Never been to Aulani, but the 1 BRs are amazing rooms. I was wondering if you booked that or not. Careful, it may convert you to DVC.
