Happy Late Birthday John!:thumbsup2

Amazing day at the World yesterday. Ds6 did ToT for the first time, Dd9 did Everest and Rockin Roller Coaster for the first time, and the entire family did Star Tours 3 times in a row. Ended the night at Fantasmic. Now on the shuttle to the Dream.

Sounds like a great day. Enjoy the cruise.

When might you be in the area to partake? I'm up for it. Paul and I have been playing lunch tag for a few weeks now. Let me know and we'll plan it out. If you have time and they are home, maybe a baseball game?

It will be sometime before I drive 7 hours to the land of red hats!

Come on now. I drove 6 hours to Long Island last week. I could have driven 4-5 hours direct, but we had planned to take the New London Ferry from CT for the break and the kids wanted to ride. Drove all the way there and as we pull into the lot, get an email that it is cancelled due to rain and high winds. Were told it would be at least an hour maybe longer before we would even be loaded on the ferry. Needless to say, we just drove. It turned out to be a good decision. Teammates that took the ferry's were all seasick for an hour all the way. Said it was miserable, wet and cold. Everything was sliding left to right, front to back like a cartoon.

We may be heading your way in June for baseball. I'll let you know if we finalize the tournament.

Enjoy the trip. We recently went on our last official school/competition related expedition with our DS. Graduation is fast approaching and big changes are on the horizon. Enjoy the travel and good luck on the game.

By the way… I missed where you joined the group.
Glad to have you along

:welcome:

Thanks for the welcome and yep graduation of DD around the corner and seeing the big changes already including the college costs starting to nickel and dime me

At 4:30 AM, received the auto call from school that the buses would be returning from DC at 5:00 AM. DW and dd made it home safely and are both sleeping now. I got to see some pictures of their trip. Younger dd has a soccer game at 10:30 AM today, and later, I may try to cut the grass. Hope everyone has a good day.
Glad to hear all home safe and sound and that they enjoyed their trip

Morning guys. DD has her first soccer game this am, should be fun to watch.

Hope everyone has a great day. :thumbsup2
Big moment - hope she had fun and enjoy these times as I know I am gonna miss them :sad1:

A Late Happy Birthday to you

Don't get any better than that! Enjoy the Dream you should love it
Home from soccer. Her team won easily and she scored 2 goals. She put on another clinic with her foot skills. Such a proud dad. We went to Beef O'Brady for dinner to celebrate and both girls attacked dessert like two venomous ducks.
Congrats on all points proud dad - sounds like you may have to look into the travel select programs sooner than you thought ;)
Indeed it was! I was pulling for Cabrera to win. You gotta love the respect he showed for Scott at the end. Class!
Great finish and completely agree, nice to see a professional athlete show that kind of class especially after loosing by basically one more rotaion on his putt
So, yesterday, DGD1 asks me "Grandpa, do you know what is better than More Bacon?"

Me: "What could be better than More Bacon, dear?"

DGD1: "More Bacon in Disney!"
Gotta second that one, more bacon in Disney - this kid is brilliant :worship:

The final out of town soccer tournament ever was pretty good this past weekend. Great event with teams from 14 different states and 8 different countries total and the girls went 1-1-1 against top notch competition. The loss was in large part to a red card / player ejection resulting in the team playing short a player the entire second half. A bit meloncholy about the soccer coming to end as I am gonna miss the dad / daughter road trips and the godd friends we have made.

In case any of you are wondering why I haven't shared how DD did, she has been the teams assistant coach the past two years due to 3 knee surgeries ending her soccer playing. She was always a team leader and after all the years of dedication and love of the sport, she went and got her coaching license so she could still be part of her team in their final two years.

Hopefully all are having a good start to the week.

Just saw on the news an explosion at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. You guys up there OK? Not sure if Paul was running it or not.

Thanks for the update, Dave. I was wondering if Paul was up there. Videos are freaking me out... looks to me like they were planted explosives. I hope I'm wrong! Praying for those affected.

Michael (Fed) said it doesn't look like an accident.

Saw the news about Paul. Are all other DisDads accounted for who may have been near the Boston area?

Hey Guys,

Terrible news about Boston, I can't imagine going through that. It was scary here for a bit as one of my colleagues was running and we hadn't heard from him. We have had reports later that all the runners from here were safe and accounted for.

On another, happier note DS made his premiership U12 soccer team today. That is the top level of travel soccer in the province. Pretty proud of my boy!

Gentlemen please hug your kids tonight. Reported among the dead is an 8 yr old.
Tragic day.

Back from a long day. Prayers to all those involved in Boston and their families.

Although I can't say I've ever seen a venomous duck eat dessert before.:confused3.

I wondered who would recognize that.

Another good day had.
Congrats to the athlete (and watch out for those venomous ducks)..

The ducks are crazy this time of year.

Back from weekend of baseball in Long Island. I'll have to try to catch up over the next couple of days. DS team lost all 3 games, but they had a lot of fun being away together. DS pitches 3 and 1/3 innings, 2K-1BB-3 hits-no ER. So far his ERA this season is 0.0:cool1::cool1:. Hitting was tough as the bat restrictions forced all of the kids to use a heavier bat than they are used to, but they are getting better each game..

Congrats to DS on the pitching.

So, my refi is complete as of 2 weeks ago. Looking thru my bank account I see that my old company continues to deduct a portion of my mortgage, just like they always have. So, after several phone calls and some gnashing of teeth on my part, I had to fax a letter in writing requesting to be dropped so I can get my money back. >8|

That stinks. Hope it gets refunded quickly.

. Did spend my time productively by booking the Pirate Princess' flight home in May. Soon she will be 1/4 done. Only six more payments to go..

The wallet just a little more lighter. On the home front, my university is reducing the employee tuition waiver by 50% to give the wealthy Deans raises. I may need to use your address to apply for a Florida in state tuition. That may be a good trade off for not parking my camper in your front yard.

Congrats on all points proud dad - sounds like you may have to look into the travel select programs sooner than you thought ;)

Thanks. I don't think I am ready for select travel program yet. Sorry to hear about your dd's knee injury, but glad to hear she has her license and is coaching. Is that something she plans to do as a career? Maybe not just soccer coach, but something in athletics?

Congratulations:thumbsup2, I love the name of that place Beef O'Brady:rotfl:

It is a chain. Do you have any nearby? think we have more restaurants in Owensboro than people. It has bar food and draft beer. What else do you need.

Morning guys. What a finish to the Masters :thumbsup2

Good productive weekend for us. Have a great day guys!

Listened to the debates on the radio. I think I got the gist of the rules violation on Tiger, but didn't see the end of Masters.

Rodbelding - I hope y'all are ok. Prayers to all in Boston.

Thanks for the concern guys. Unbelievably scary stuff. So far all my family and friends in/around the marathon are ok. Prayers to everyone affected.

Thanks to those who checked in on me here and texted me as well. Nice to know you guys were looking out for me. I really do appreciate it.

DISDad Approved! :thumbsup2

I think the default answer to: Do you know what's better than _______?

is: _______ in Disney
