We are on site and no bands for us either. We can live through Brent.

Honestly I thought the program wasgoing in full swing, disn't think they wrre just testing. And to think, we wanted Riverside so bad, but here is the sulver lining to settle for POP again.:confused3

Well, if you're eating it and it tastes sweet, you're eating what I call sweet corn. Sugar and butter corn must be a regional term??? :confused3 I've never heard it called that before.

The company that sells us our field corn always gives us a some sweet corn to put out every year. We always plant a few acres, but not a whole lot. We just have it for our own use and to give some to friends and family. We don't even mess with trying to sell it because there are so many other people doing it that there just isn't much money in it to make it worthwhile unless you'd go large scale and produce a lot of sweet corn to sell to grocery stores, etc. And sweet corn just takes a lot of extra management and work.

My favorite variety is called Ambrosia and looks like this.

That's what it looks like so I am guessing it is just a northern name for it. There are actually a couple of farms that grow full corn fields and never harvest. Instead, they carve out the corn mazes and sell tickets. I am guessing from how busy it is around Halloween they make a lot more from that than they do selling the corn. Last year it was $8-10 for a ticket and then they had special "haunted" nights on Friday and Saturday that were $12-15. We tried to figure it out last year and guessed on a Saturday the the take would be around $50K with day/night combined just for that day:scratchin. Always a line from 10 in the morning until close.

Fry the auditors and spend the day with the fish.

Why didn't I thin of that?:rotfl2::lmao:

I'll PM you mine and DW's, not yet sure I'll bring my phone with me into the parks.

Best we can do, aside from buying sim cards etc, is a plan that won't set us back much, but only gives us 50 minutes/200 texts and a tiny grab of data. Sucks, but roaming charges will KILL us, last time we drove it cost over over $300. As long as the WiFi is good, we can text. If it looks good, I'll drag my phone along. Most of our calling minutes are spent checking in on our dads, both in rough shape.

Sorry, didn't even cross my mind about roaming. We use Verizon and there are no roaming charges for us. Let's set a time on the 22nd between lunch and dinner and meet up there. Maybe in Japan? That sucks on the charges just for usage. The wifi is pretty good from what I have been told. We'll keep our fingers crossed.

Wonder what a cheap throw away/burner would cost you?

I'm hoping for the best...I'll check it out in DTD. I'd like to grab a few pics with my phine anyways. Besides if I have 200 texts, only DW and I really text each other, only will needthat of we separate at any point, I can spare a handfull.

I though about that, grabbing a cheap pay-as-you-go from Wally World...

On 4 Oct, we begin our drive from North West New Jersey to the Wonderful World of Disney. Have done this drive a couple of times, looking to do something a little different this time. Looking to pick up RT 81 at Harrisburg and take it South. I see two options, one is to cut east at RT64 and then RT95 at Richmond. The other is to continue on 81 until RT77 and cut down through
Winston Salem and Greensboro to pick up 95 further south. Looking at the map, Winston Salem et al, looks pretty convoluted. Anyone been down those ways and can offer some insight? Thanks.

Now you’re getting into my neck of the woods. The Richmond option is pretty simple. If however you chose to follow I-81 completely through the Shenandoah Valley down to I-77 then I’d advise you to stay in I-77 all the way to its terminus at I-26 in Columbia SC. Then just follow “26-East” for about 90 miles and it meets I-95. It's more of a straight line that way. If you try to use parts of I-73/74 or I-40 to get over to I-95 in NC you’ll be doing a lot more east/west traveling.

Sounds like we'll have ample opportunities for DISDad meets :thumbsup2 We scored a 2 bedroom deluxe this time around. We thought the 1 bedroom was big when we stayed in the spring. Can't wait to see the 2 bd room. Planning to attend MVMCP during your stay?

Sounds good! :)

We scored a 2 bedroom presidential. We had originally booked a deluxe and then one night after a couple beers I went and upgraded to the presidential for some reason. Those were expensive beers that night lol

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes (and bacon) everyone. :thumbsup2

How is the drive from Austin to Orlando? I've toyed around with the idea of driving for our January 2015 trip and the great & all-knowing Google says it'd be ~14 hours.

This will be my first drive, I will let you know when I get back. I grew up making long road trips overnight but my girls aren't use to it.

The timing is off a might in the second act and it needs more cow bell.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

You've got a sickness...and the only cure is more cowbell!

Beat me to it.

Sounds good! :)

What was in those beers. And are there any left.

Drinking and planning a Disney vacation are not good partners.:rotfl2::lmao:

I gotta have more cowbell.

:scratchin

:wave2:Hey Paul. Looks like I'll be having Lunch with Canadians before we get together again. :rolleyes1 Imagine.....20 miles apart and unable to meet. Let me know when things slow down and there's some time.

Damn, that sounds like some damn fine beers...

Afternoon fellas. Haven't posted much but been keeping up for the most part. Welcome to all the new guys. It seems like there has been a recent membership drive or something. :lmao::thumbsup2

Not much going on here. Last couple of weeks before DD starts back at school and DW goes back to work. I need to get the smaller DD moved into the bedroom with her sister so that I can get the crib set up. Only a couple more months!
