Howdy dads. I have been away from the boards for a week and y'all went and put up 20 pages. I read a few before I gave up and just skipped to the end. Welcome new dads
Sorry about the car Norm
Congrats on the planned trips
Prayers, bacon, yada yada, bacon,

Good job summing it up actually...:rotfl2:

Just realized my ticker is wrong, should be good now. We are at 11 days till we hit the road for the drive to the world. Plan is all set for our off site stay. I have been using touring plans and built in a 3hr. break each day to go back to room for a nap and meal to save some money. But I still got all the attraction the girls wanted, and a good mix of meals

Fri & Sat. Drive time, should arrive sat around noon
Sun, putt-putt at winter wonderland, DTD, kitchen sink at beaches and cream
Mon, MK. Gastons tavern for lunch, dole whip, dinner at resort
Tue, Mk. Lunch at resort, dole whip, sleepy hollow (waffle sandwiches)
Wed, Ep, lunch at resort, dinner in world showcase depending on what we are in the mood for
Thur, HS, lunch and dinner at resort, brown derby just not in budget
Fri, AK. Tusker house breakfast(dad meet) packing a cold lunch since the park closes early
Sat,:sad: pack and check out

We are of site so I won't be able to take advantage of the magic + or magic bands, but I will do it the old fashion way. With a touring plan, lines app, fastpasses, wifi, smartphones, you know the good old days.
I will open up a trip report next week with photos of the pile of crap we bought this weekend
.

If my calculations are correct, might be able to cross paths on your Tuesday MK day, as it is a MK day for us too. Since we are crazy Canadians, we'll be there the whole day.

Welcome. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail them to me and I distribute them. Are you all staying on property in December?

Thanks everyone for the welcoming words. :)

Last year we stayed at AOA but this year we will be staying at Bonnet Creek. It was that or waiting another year to stay onsite. Couldn't wait that long to go back lol

Sounds like a great plan to me! The good old days :lmao::lmao: Next thing you'll be talking about using actual park maps, too!

Thanks everyone for the welcoming words. :)

Bonnet Creek... in December... we'll be there and then. What are your dates? We are there Dec 8 - 13.

I will look for you there. We are doing rope drop to fireworks just taking a break in the middle.

Morning guys! Hoping today won't be one of "those days" but started off with no Internet connection, so iPhone is all I got....

But at least I can say....

Finally getting around to posting out plans for our January trip. All plans are tentative, but the ADRs are confirmed. Were following our customary schedule of trying to build up the magic by visiting our less favorite parks first. Were also planning on taking breaks in the day for Little Man to take a nap. Unless otherwise noted, breakfast will be in our room and lunch will be in the park we are visiting.
· Saturday Fly down and arrive late afternoon; check into BWV. Downtown Disney shopping, customary monorail ride around the World. Dinner at a BWV, BCV, or YC establishment.
· Sunday Animal Kingdom. Boat over to DTD for dinner at Ragland Road.
· Monday Pre-park opening breakfast at Magic Kingdom. Well do dinner at the resort or Ill walk over to Epcot for takeout.
· Tuesday Epcot. Via Napoli for dinner.
· Wednesday Chef Mickeys for breakfast then head over to DHS. Artist Point with friends for dinner (getting sitter for DS). Going to try and score reservations for California Grill when it reopens.
· Thursday Epcot. Biergarten for dinner.
· Friday Kona Café for breakfast. Well do dinner at the resort or Ill walk over to Epcot for takeout.
· Saturday Fly home and return to reality. Booo.

Man. Missed 15 pages. Too much to read. Work is getting in the way. Uhg.
So Prayers, Welcome, Sorry , hope all is well, Congrats, pass the bacon. I threw a pound in the fridge to fry up later. :):thumbsup2

On the upside, I am looking to Fri. First preseason fro Greenbay. Downside, apparently one of our o-line guys possibly blew his knee, Our kicker is in mid-season form (of missing) and we signed Vince Young for some reason. I know our back ups are not that good but really?

Anyways. On a bad/sad note, I had talked about doing an adults only trip to the world for our 10th next april (or around that time). Well with the economy, and work getting slim and hours and shifts being cut I made the sad decision there will not be a disney trip next year. We have too many possibilities that could happen that will not allow us to go.

So with that said i know have to figure out something to do for our 10th. I was hoping (and had started planning) for us to be at Disney World and make it a special trip and be our honeymoon as we never took one. So I am open to suggestions guys. What have you guys done and for any in and around WI, What are some good spots. (Not the Dells. She grew up there and it is overrated. It is a good family getaway but overrated) Was thinking possibly A trip to Door County as i hear it is very nice but not sure.

Not crazy- commando. Otherwise, you'll make Ron upset.

Thanks everyone for the welcoming words. :)

Been to PoP, but no pt AoA. Heard it is a cool resort. We've stayed a couple days off property, but we liked it some much at WDW that we bought DVC. I have heard from many that the Bonnet Creek is a nice one.

Top of the morning men! I think we are going to ROCK this Tuesday :cool2:

Do you smell what the David is cookin? Oh, you're talking about a different Rock.

You have some great ADRs. We've tried doing favorite parks first and last before, so nice approach. We are doing MK twice this year and not doing AK at all. The possibilities are endless.

Waffle sandwiches and ice cream is always good. A completely different experience, but that is what WDW is all about. Too bad about Brown Derby - it is one of the few restaurants we want to eat at in DHS. Good luck roughing it with the wifi.

‘Morning all…
Interesting week down this way. We’re having some work done on the house and it’s tore all to heck. On top of that we trying to get everything sorted and packed up to haul my boy off to college in two more days. DW is not liking the notion of losing her baby and the general disaster that is now about three quarters of the house ain’t helping matters. On the up side, once we get back from throwing the boy out on his own, the ceiling and wall work should also be done and then I get to start painting…

yippee? :crazy2:

Hey guys! Where do I go to get a number? My name is Andre and I have 2 boys who are 4 and 7 years old! We are all going back to Disney this December! :)

Have a good day!
Welcome Sir!
We’re glad to have you join in. Make yourself at home and feel free to hijack any conversation that strikes your fancy. Cause that’s how we roll. :thumbsup2

Single digits does make the day better. I certainly can’t say that we in the single digits
(unless it's for tossing my son out of the house ).

Good Morning Dads! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Missed the last 4 days as we have been very busy with sports try outs and planning the trip. just over 2 weeks to go.:cool1::cool1:

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes (and bacon) everyone. :thumbsup2

How is the drive from Austin to Orlando? I've toyed around with the idea of driving for our January 2015 trip and the great & all-knowing Google says it'd be ~14 hours.

Post 5000…

Not that big a deal any more is it?
It’s been done (and doubled) so often that it’s no longer all that amazing.
So let me simply say:

Gentleman (and I actually mean that)… Gentleman

L'chaim!

Oh and one more thing…

Enjoy!

Congratulations on 5K!

I know, right? Who drinks a cucumber martini????

:confused3 Maybe he was being polite?

That is exactly what we were finishing up over the weekend.:rolleyes1

So David you are saying you are going to start drinking after having 6 kids at home? ;)

Definitely a worthy celebration.

I need to start drinking with 2. With 6, I may need to be admitted to detox.:lmao::lmao:

Hello everyone...we have been enjoying the day here doing this and that about town. Headed down to the Blue Water Bridge (leads to Port Huron MI ) where the fabled French fry place Albert's was. I posted this on FB to run it in to a couple of coworkers who grew up here and this was caught by Randy aka Tutter99 who was in town, so came down for an impromptu Disdad Meetup.

Nice to meet you Randy!

That is good news!

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Nice meet up.

We're a bit longer than that...

15 days!:cool1::cool1:

Good morning gents! Trust all are having a good weekend. Wrapped up adding points to DVC contract, AKL, Friday. Took advantage of current program with discount on points, 4 5 day park hopper passes and was able to roll the new points over till next year. Helps make for a good weekend knowing we have extra points to plan more trips nowpixiedust:

Congrats on the new points! Sadly, still waiting for town hall to approve DVC purchase. Maybe the new Polynesian water huts will convince her.:rolleyes1

Afternoon everyone... I could get used to this quiet style vacation. Started a book yesterday and finished it today.

DW and I even got a bit of work done, cleaned and vacuumed out the car to get it ready for the drive to Florida. Getting more excited, not long now, we head out in 11 days!

We had a similar weekend in CT with friends. Ds and I got through the latest KK book and I got some other reading done as well. Feel free to pick me up on the way. A few extra days would be nice. I'm very quiet and will be sure not to ask "are we there yet" too often.:lmao::lmao:

We will be there Dec 1-15. :)

Sounds like we'll have ample opportunities for DISDad meets :thumbsup2 We scored a 2 bedroom deluxe this time around. We thought the 1 bedroom was big when we stayed in the spring. Can't wait to see the 2 bd room. Planning to attend MVMCP during your stay?

G'mornin gents

So have they caught and quarantined the Canadian? Don't want any sickness spreading. :scared:

Have a nice day. :)

I'm feeling a little cold or allergies coming on. Must be the Canadian flu.:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Good morning gentlemen. Had a crazy busy weekend. Kids had their first soccer practice/game. Both really enjoyed it and had fun. DD was defender in a 5 v 2 drill. She stripped the ball from the attacker then single handedly kept the ball away from the 5 attackers for over 2 minutes. She was able to do it with a combination of speed, dribbling skills, and hip checks. All the parents were laughing. We also hit the youth sports lottery. We got the youth coach who came prepared with drills and games. he taught the kids really well and kept them engaged for the hour time. My uncle had his 50th birthday party as well. The high light was the bonfire. the kids tried to put it out with their squirt guns.

Sounds like you got a good little player there! My kids liked soccer, but we had our last soccer season last spring. Both dropped it for other sports. Good luck.
