DIS Dads DDC XXIX: We’re Over 750 Dads, With A Disney Problem!

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl2: Hey Fed! Glad to see you back. Are ManLaws enforceable in a court of law?:rotfl2::rotfl:

Court of Public Opinion.....

We've been a bit, um, "distracted" around here, what with the Sanford Follies..I mean trial going on.

On a serious note (imagine that:rotfl2:), I don't think we should discourage the "low level insurgency" of women as I termed it a few years ago (Wow, really? That long?).

After all, a wife may have an issue convincing her husband there's stuff at WDW for them too---and that's where we come in. Of course, I will concede that there are some dudes who just ain't gonna' get it...nothing you can do about that.

And I kinda gotta' agree with her...some of the female run threads can get kind of snippy and snarky.

You guys haven't shut this thing down yet? Thought you could have easily taken care of that in the last 9 days.

Did I miss anything important? Saw a comment about it was like middle school in here.

Last night I thought I was going to break a Man Rule:confused3, I ran over my foot with a electric jack and it was hurting really bad I could hardly walk after I got home, all I was thinking was all great I'm going to to be wearing a cast or something during the trip:scared1: around 11pm I put direct ice on it till almost 1 am, I'm used to the cold my foot was pretty much numb when I went to bed:rolleyes1, remarkably when I woke up I could move my foot and toes again, foot was fine all day:cool1:, It could have been a disaster, my wife and I talked about it yesterday when I was in server pain and I said, I'm going to work and we are going to WDW no matter how bad it hurts, I'm convinced Walt sent me some Pixie Dust in the middle of the night:goodvibes

Morning guys.

Let's see; You missed a few lame jokes, a lot of talk about the weather, and much gibberish. Some of the gibberish was mildly important, but not overly so.

A mom came in and left a post getting some of the dad's all hyped up (hence them middle school comment). That was the mildly important gibberish.

Welcome back. :thumbsup2

I get a short reprieve from my 11 hour days this week today to take oldest to orthodontist. Still get the 140 miles.

24oz Milwaukee's Best Ice, I Dream of Jeannie, and Mary Tyler Moore. A rough evening.
.

The Beast. Enough said.

Wow, one girl posts in here and this place gets all giddy and fills up 4 pages in a few hours... It's like middle school in here! :rotfl2:
;)

I didn't have a middle school (1-8), but there were Catholic School girls. I've enjoyed the pace of this thread. I guess it will change when the penguins or a Canadian returns ...

Glad the foot is better.

Thanks Paul, nice to be home.

We took our daughter to the orthodontist last week. After seeing what braces will cost, I think we're just going to tell people she's British.

Don't worry Norm, I am leaving again next week and won't have much access for about 19 days. I'm sure the pace will keep to the slow pace you enjoy. That is unless you get another mom that wants to join. :lmao:

 Oh yeah... that could have been a major bummer! Glad to hear the foot is ok!

:lmao: I received an email from my dentist yesterday promoting their Invisiline treatments. They are giving away iPad 2's for those entering treatment before September. Then I looked at the cost... $5,000 for plastic retainers??? Really?? IDTS

I truly sympathize...I know another DW who is totally like that (and who I know doesn't come on these boards)

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Mine may stop by but this will be so buried by the time she does she will never see it. And she isn't fully computer savvy and would never think of trying to look up my old posts.
At least i hope.... :rolleyes1

Do we have any landscaping or contractor dads that have dealt with sinkholes in the yard? We had a sinkhole and I originally had to decide whether to just fill it in for a few thousand dollars or dig it out, remove what is under there are then refill it for about 4x the cost. We chose to fill it in. Now it is down even more than originally. Is there a way to see what is under there via strategically placed drill holes or does it need to be completely dug out. I honestly can't see how it can keep dropping. Any ideas? I'm thinking of just filling it in again.

TIA

You don't happen to have a sewer or waterline running through your back yard do you? Otherwise maybe you have the next Cave in the Mounds in your back yard. I would think you could find a company to do some core drilling and see if there is a cave or something below. But I would also think that would be very costly.

Now as far as the pending invasion,
I am going to have to say no also. As was said the occasional post throws things off a bit.
It may only be one and they have a good story and reasons but then where do we draw the line once it is moved. Then there becomes a bigger grey area and next thing we know the DISdads become the DIScoeds and the boards are become talking about trips and cycle times interfering with the vacation. :crazy2:

LIke they say change happens a nudge at a time. A nudge here and there and a year or 2 later look at where you are.

If I got an iPad 2 out of it, at least there would be some decent return on the investment.

Both of mine have appointments next week and they are only 8 :(

:faint: Have they lost their baby teeth yet? My DD is 11 and still has 3 to go.

I responded to the Mom and told her no member number, without a member.

Well not really, I was nice, but not that's nice.

OK, Can I get a show of hands of Dads who have DD's age 10/11/12? My GDD is 10 and will be 11 in Sept. I have a feeling there are a lot of Dads that will rise their hands. :lmao:

Hey Darcy. Welcome back. Are you insinuating that we post pad to close threads?:rolleyes1 Or that we talk more when you are gone. Nothing important. Randall was asking if we should let women in here.:scared1:

Glad it was nothing serious. It's amazing what a little ice and rest can do. :crutches:

Top of the morning fella's :coffee:
