Hump Day Ownage!

Mourning all, have a great Hump day. WhooWhoo

Are you channeling your inner Canadian or just sad?

Sorry...I do hope it takes an eternity for the weekend to get here (for you):thumbsup2

I know for me, it's starts Staycation 2:The Revenge :hyper:

I heard it's better than Sharknado2!:rotfl2::rotfl2: Hope it's full of rest and alcohol.

I've been waiting for this to happen...

This is from the Welcome to the DISDads sticky.

So, what say you?

Hmmmmmm! Kind of hard to be a DisDad without the one missing criteria. I'll go with the majority here, but I'm not sharing the bacon.

Do we have any landscaping or contractor dads that have dealt with sinkholes in the yard? We had a sinkhole and I originally had to decide whether to just fill it in for a few thousand dollars or dig it out, remove what is under there are then refill it for about 4x the cost. We chose to fill it in. Now it is down even more than originally. Is there a way to see what is under there via strategically placed drill holes or does it need to be completely dug out. I honestly can't see how it can keep dropping. Any ideas? I'm thinking of just filling it in again.

TIA

Oh boy! Time for work! :lmao::rolleyes2

:lmao::rotfl2: I know one of those too! You get to meet her in August.

:lmao:I sense a trend happening

Where's the Like Button?

I believe the requirements for membership are clearly stated in the first page of every DisDad's thread.

While being a male is not exactly spelled out in the official criteria to be a member of the Dis Dad's it is in the creed, "We're men," and in the opening section of Man Laws, "This is Man World."

Furthermore admittance of a woman to the Dis Dads would be in direct conflict with the following Man Laws:

Section 6, "No DIS Dad will sit in seat while a woman, child, disabled or elderly person stands on bus... unless there is to many people between you to offer the seat (example: I'm in back and person is in front of bus and 15 people standing in between) or you are holding children."

and

Section 20, "Any adult male who shares his love of Disney with a future generation of Disney fans is a DIS Dad."

Welcome!

I heard it's better than Sharknado2!:rotfl2::rotfl2: Hope it's full of rest and alcohol.

rest, alcohol, AND Sharknados? So cool.....:hyper:

While we are still up in the air on ever taking a cruise due to motion sickness fears, we noticed the same things. I'm thinking for the difference in price, we could do the same. Take a RC cruise and then spend some time in WDW as opposed to just a cruise on DCL. Congrats on getting it booked. And as always.......Sucks to be CJ.:headache:

We were very nervous about motion sickness before our cruze. We had pills, and bracelets prepared to combat it, but didn't have any issues at all. We really liked cruising on the dream and just booked a cruise on the Magic, but the price premium for disney is really steep. Booking right when the rooms are released seems to alleviate that some. Our neighbors swear by RC, they have a pretty great loyalty program (crown and anchor society).

You make a compelling case. Of course she could just pretend to be a dude.

I say don't fill it in and put a sandbox over it. That way, when EPA drops a big dome over your city, you will have an escape route.

It's a camel's favorite day! :yay:

I forget who started with a suggestion about humping on hump day. But, I like that image better than the camel.

Morning guys! DS coming back from Boy Scout Jamboree after 10 days away. It's been very hard on DW and myself. Can't wait to see him! Then, leaving on vacation on Friday! I may actually be on the boards MORE during vacation. Depends how drunk I am during the day.... ::yes::
!

The important thing is that you plan on being intoxicated.

I wasn't on Facebook then. Can anyone bring me up to speed?

The FB Group voted no women. But, that is a closed group, and we can exclude/ prevent them from joining. On the DIS, not so much.

Checking in from beutiful Henderson KY:rolleyes1 300 miles, 6 hours driving and a new time zone. I think I may have hit every named parkway in the state today. I thought about complaining but like dad said when I talked with him today..."You got paid for driving, drinking coffee, and listening to the radio. Beats digging ditches." ::yes::

I passed you going the other way on one of those parkways. BTW, they are turning them into new extensions for Interstates. Not quite sure they meet that standard, but whatever. Watch out for the Evansville/ Henderson bank robbery crime spree.

Oh I plan too, thanks.
Best part is I have 4 hours to myself Friday to go around the grounds and do what ever I want, DW has to work Security at the main gate for a chunk of the day. I will have my son in tow but he can be fun when it's just the 2 of us wondering.

In fours hours, you can be quite successful in being intoxicated.

Sounds good, I know when I use to drive Ambulance for a local transport service all my friends would ask why I did it for $11 a hour. I would answer were else do you get paid to sleep on the sofa, watch TV, and drive a $100K vehicle around. We use to go shopping or out to eat, whatever we wanted to do. I parked the rig at my house one day for like 8 hours.

Did your neighbors ask you what was wrong? Might have been a good way to play up and injury or illness for neighborly gifts of food sympathy.

Morning guys. We got an update on the kiddos sizes and weights yesterday. They all appear to be catching up and doing well. :thumbsup2

DW has been wanting to start getting clothes for the boys for when we get them home. I'm glad we waited until we got the info from our agency. So now we can get all the essentials: Disney tshirt s, Colts stuff, IU stuff, ND stuff, my favorite uncle is CJ shirt :lmao:

ND stuff? You're not supposed to abuse these children with that type of filth.

Norm I'm really enjoying listening to you on the munch madness podcasts. Your voice reminds me of some sort of philosophy professor mixed with a southern gentleman.

Good idea.:thumbsup2 Requires significantly less effort and resources. See, that's why you are the Team Sparrow Captain.:worship::worship:

Can women be disdads? I have all the proper qualifications-except one;-) The moms thread is no fun whatsoever, typical tear each other down snippy women stuff. I like the info and discussions here. I am a DVC member, love classic Mickey Mouse, and am learning to appreciate princesses for the sake of my daughter. Found the info on the Grand Californian here, it was the best discussion I have seen. I grew up in SoCal and haven't been to Disneyland since I was 14, can't wait to take my daughter to Carsland. We go to DW about 2x per year. No men here though, just us girls.....

So, a topic so important I responded to it without a multiquote. Should we admit girls?

On the against side, clearly we can look at the DisDad membership rules and see that is not permitted.

On the pro side, girls are a lot prettier.

From a different side, I know we can't exclude anyone from posting on these threads. My DW may have been the first girl to post and many wives have followed. My DW has had similar complaints about the DisMom's being so boring and she doesn't post there anymore either. And, most of the DisDads have had those experiences from woman (and other men) on these boards be snippy and hateful.

Conclusion: Do you think we could add a DisMom's thread to our sub-forum over here? Maybe not just make it a DisMom exclusive thread, but maybe a DisDad and DisMom - No Hateful Need Apply thread, where CaollinsMom and others could have some fun, and we could still keep our club house as well.

Thanks. That may be the best compliment I have had this decade. Where is the tag fairy? :lmao:

That's way better than what Eric had to say. But, I kept texting him about eating at Fulton's Crabhouse, so that may have been why.:lmao:

I enjoy listening to Eric and I really respect his opinions, but I think his palette is more sophisticated than mine. It seems you Chris and Eric have probably the broadest experiences especially with Signature dining. It'd be really interesting to hear the 3 of you argue the merits of the final 4 and maybe let each one of you argue on behalf on something that you felt was eliminated before it's time.

Good Morning David. Did they give you an update on when they would be home? I may have missed it is it was in an earlier post.

Probably not until after the first of the year :worried:

Go Irish :thumbsup2 If I had tickets to a game would you go?

Hmmm... you have a good idea there, Norm! Sort-of like letting the girls hang out in the living room while the dads are smoking cigars the den?

You make a compelling case. Of course she could just pretend to be a dude.

Some days I manage to put two or three thoughts together into a valid and coherent argument...:rotfl2:

IRT to the previous referenced Dis Dads petitioner pretending to be a dude, I actually had an argument put together that referenced a recent California Supreme Court case which ruled that a 6 year old boy who self identified as a girl had the right to use the girls restroom at school. The decision was then applied across the board for all transgender students in public schools as they violated anti-discrimination laws.

If the same logic were to be applied here, and the petitioner self-identified herself as a Dad, then the precedent has already been established by the state of California, home of DIS Dad-neyLand. :thumbsup2

Sounds good. How about a DisMom's and Randall thread.:lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

That stinks that you have to wait so long, but worth it in the end. Well continued prayers for everything to go smooth and as planned. Those are some lucky kids!:thumbsup2

It has been my past experience on several boards and forums that men have the ability to discuss issues and topics in a rational and respectful manner. The discussions only turn ugly and hateful with the inclusion of some (not all) women or those not willing to look at the issue from another posters point of view.

If there is a DIS Mom's section, where women can discuss topics relevant to them and their interests and a DIS Dads section where we can discuss stuff that's actually cool and relevant then it would make sense to me that there is already a co-ed board where the two can co-exist... http://disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=33

Are you in favor of a DisMom's thread or are you just floating the idea out there?

I just don't know how much fun they'd have here. Do women really like bacon, bourbon, and flatulating as much as we do? Seriously- someone answer that cuz after all these years my wife is still a vegetarian who won't drink and says, "Ewww, you're gross".
