While floating down the river, the pilot mentioned that the "brown color comes from natural tannic acid, which is found in many consumer products such as Coca Cola and Jack Daniels. Which, coincidentally, was exactly what I had for lunch today."

But we got a FREE SALAD!

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

You must have gone with a different company. Our driver's jokes were no where near that good.

We did the "Original Wisconsin Ducks". I think the other company is the Dells Army Ducks.

As we were driving up and over a sandbar in the river, our driver stopped and used the vehicle's PA system to hit on some girls lounging in the sand. Clearly, he enjoys his job.

But what if it's REALLLLLYYYYYY goood pizza?:lmao::lmao:

Sadly, it wasn't their best night on that front. :sad2:

We did the Army Ducks. They also had the Sasquatch Zip Line tour. We're going to hold off on doing any more trip to the Dells until the kids are tall enough for all the coasters and go-carts.

Well, I guess I've missed quite a bit. I had to change my email address so I thought I'd stop by and say, "Hi!"
It still doesn't look like we'll be doing a Disney trip anytime in the near (or distant) future so I've been shying away from the Boards. We're looking into retirement, possibly for after Jan 1, but we need more info before making a decision. My DW is doing better in some ways and not as well in others but she's hanging in there and coping as well as anyone could expect. We are now working out together at the local YMCA and enjoying it, so far. I hope to get down below 200 lbs and strengthen the muscles around my poor, old knees. Navy son appears to be getting out in late November and hoping to go back to school (a trade school). He will be home in early October for "house hunting leave" for a week or so. The Blues are flying limited flights around P'cola; each pilot gets about 6 hours per week and they aren't really doing anything in air show formation. Stupid sequestration. :sad2:
That's it for now. I hope everyone here is doing well and planning their next trips.

Woo-Hoo!:cool1::cool1: Thanks Corey. No more counting gentlemen. 30 more days. Just look below. See I ain't lyin'.

Sure is good to see you around here Mike!!:cool1:

:rotfl2: We have the duck tours in Boston too, but I've never had a driver try to pick up any girls on the route... :rotfl2:

Excellent. All that counting takes up drinking time.

But what if it's REALLLLLYYYYYY goood pizza?:lmao::lmao:

There is a joke about pizza and something else.

Good Morning Everybody. Back from a 3 day weekend with a good chunk of my extended family at my sister's cabin up in Northern Wisconsin. Lots of fun and lots of food.
To break up the almost 6 hour drive, we stopped in Wisconsin Dells for lunch and a duck boat tour. Duck boats are WWII era amphibious landing craft that transition from boat to truck simply by disengaging the propellor and engaging the 6-wheel drive. The ride goes in, on, and around the scenic Wisconsin River and Lake Delton. But the best part are the puns and corny jokes from the driver. Yes, it's an hour long Jungle Cruise!:banana:

I like floating down the river in the inter tube drinking beer with my friends. Five hours and no one had to get out to pee.

Welcome back Andy! Now suffer like the rest of us.:lmao::lmao: Kind of makes you want to play the lottery, doesn't it.
:rotfl::.

I want to win enough to move to Golden Oak, but I would also settle for just the exact amount (after taxes) I would make over the next 20 years. That would be enough for me to retire.

Productive morning...found a long-lost item of Amelia's, got some groceries gotten, and installed screen doors at my parent's place since theyare stuck at home for the long term. Now I still have 8 hours of work to go!:faint::lmao:
:cool1:

Sounds like a productive week to me. Time for some down time and a vacation.

Or a 2 hour wait for pizza. :rolleyes1

What I miss?

Okay...you win...:rotfl2:

I didn't want to win that one.

Good morning guys.

Back to the real world for me... :faint:

Welcome back, Andy. Sorry you had to leave the magic.

Those look really good. I'm always bummed about our lack of Disney attire when we go to the parks. But I'm never sure how to remedy that without breaking the bank. if I may ask, how much did all that cost you?

Yeah, we did matching shirts for a couple of trips. Now, I'd rather spend money on more snacks.

Morning gents and here's to another work week :( Have another Tues-Thurs business travel trip this week so be safe and enjoy the week.

Safe travels to you as well.

I'm also $85 ahead. I've had little to no cell service for a the last 10 days and the AT&T cell tower upgrade is going so poorly it may be two more weeks. All I had to do was call and complain and they gave me credit for the month. :woohoo: Apparently I'm not the first because they were going to only give me $25 but when I said that wasn't acceptable they gave me the $85. As much as I dislike big government this is why I still favor phone service regulation in KY. If you don't have a landline in eastern KY you may not have service at all.

Good to hear. FIL was without cell service for a while there as well. Thankfully, I live in a thriving metropolis of 50,000 people. We are 4th largest city in KY. :sad1:

True, but if you're going to use that quote it should be like this...

Easy there Ackbar

Welcome back Mike! No trips in the foreseeable future for me either but I hangout here and live vicariously through others. It certainly isn't for the wisdom from these guys.:rotfl2:

The total population of this county and the one north and south don't even total up to 50,000. I don't want to live in a major city, but it would be nice to have some of the conveniences that civilization would bring.

Sounds like a productive week to me. Time for some down time and a vacation.

Four more shifts to go, starting Saturday I'm off for 11 days. :hyper:

I didn't want to win that one.
There were no winners

DW after picking up the girls stoped by Value Village, a local thrift store to look around. Amelia spotted this little treasure...

Apparently some sort of vintage ashtray, looks a bit old, seeing it has the Admiral Joe Fowler riverboat on it. It;s in great shape, and a neat little item you don;t see anymore. Saw it on ebay for around $ 9-17 depending on the seller. DW paid a whopping $3 for it. :thumbsup2

I thought that was just a Wisconsin thing. :confused3

That wouldn't get you in the top 20 here.

I live in a town of 7,500. I don't think I could live somewhere smaller. Going from Minneapolis, to suburbia, finally to the sticks was a bit of a culture shock. I love it but it took time to get used to the fact that the nearest Target is half an hour away.

Yes, I am wise beyond my years. Also, I make a lot of stuff up.

It had been a few years since we've gotten past the Disney Outlet store just off the Interstate. Holy cow, has that city gown up!

He just needs to go for pizza with the right people. Some of us only had to wait about 15 minutes, tops.
