Monday morning ownage.

Had fun last night wrapping up the podcast for DisDad Munch Madness Tournament. Thanks to Aaron & Eric, and everyone else for listening & voting.

Morning guys,

First day of school in South Florida. For old time sake, I had to wake mine up to tell her she was late for school and needed to get up. She chuckled a bit content in knowing those days are over. Last week of her summer though. She flies out Friday morning.

Have a good day guys. And if you kids are back in school, tell them to learn something!

Morning back at you. I'm surprised she took it so well. When I move in, don't go waking me up that early.

Knowing that she did not need to get up helped.

Don't worry about early morning alarm clocks Norm. I'll use the hose instead.

Evening... Drive down was good, no traffic or construction, got off to early start, rain was not a factor, though there was lots of it. Little bit as we got to Florida, but it cleared for a really nice evening. Ate at Slow 'n Low BBQ.. Good! Kids LOVED the beach and pool. About time for sleep. Stay safe everyone!

I can pinpoint the time 5:45... Don't know why but I logged it in my notebook

5:45 sounds about right… We were enjoying a bit of Mexican-ish cuisine cuisine at the time. I thought at first my guardian angels were warning that I ought not be doin’ such. Then I remembered that y’all were going to be driving through around about then and figured that explained it (meaning I could go on ahead and enjoy my dinner… and the full evening of after effects :thumbsup2).

Glad y’all made it safely down to the Fla Coast. Enjoy the rest of the stay!

Good to hear you made it safely. We got hammered around Tallahassee and most of the way to Orlando. We are finally here at the resort, just ordered a pizza too tired to eat anything else.

You folks had a right difficult slog to get all the way down there. I’m sure the time On World will make up for it but may the return trip be strewn with far fewer pot-holes.

I suggested to DW for our 10th anniversary we do Star Tours 10 times. All I got was The Look.

Was it “The look” or was it “The LOOK”? It’s important…
Of course, sensing disappointment in your post, I suspect I know which of the two you’re on about here.

ut oh I might be in risk of losing my DAD card, but we let the kids sleep in anyways. No rope drop for us today. Mk is open till 1am tonight so We plan on a late night or early morning which ever you prefer.
Wife took girls to AK this am. See what time the boys get up then will decide what to do for the day. Oh I love these wing it as you go trips :)

No risk… You’ve got a good plan there.
Besides, any day of winging it through the Disney parks certainly beats the heck out of my day spent at work.

Next year we'll be in the middle of our east coast road trip. But I'm sure we'll find something equally stupid to do.
Going over Niagara Falls fourteen times?

You could choose a different mode of transportation for each plunge.

Afternoon Gents.

Made it home from Canada Games about 10 am this morning and managed to get a few hours sleep. We had a great 17 days at the Games, lots of great performances and for a small province, did all right in the medal count.

What I am looking forward to most today is some family time and some real food. In fact, the steaks just went on the grill.

Sounds like y’all had a very full adventure there. Glad you’re back at home for a well-deserved rest.
Then it’s back on your head and a return to the regular routine.

Beaches and Cream here we go. One kitchen sink before we head back to the room for the night. Long day at MK tomorrow.

That ought to cure whatever ails ya’.
Or kill you… one or the other.

My young’en actually has his first official 8:00 of the semester today.

I thought about texting him to see if he made it, but he’s been making 8am rehearsal calls since the 9th so I suspect he’s already use to the general schedule. On the up side, he’s only got two of those early academic starts each week and it’s not something really nasty like Elizabethan-Lit or Calculus

Good luck to the Pirate as she get ready to head out!

Good morning everyone!

I think everyone is finally feeling better at our house. The kids haven't had a fever since about the middle of the day on Saturday and DS was even up and running around playing for a few hours yesterday. I think we're on the right track.

Now I just have to deal with a couple of busy weeks coming up. :crazy2: :sad2:

Good morning gentlemen. One day closer to Disney.

On Saturday DS scored his first goal. Our team looks great in practice. They spread out and pass the ball around very well. Once they get into the game they devolve into swam ball just like the other team. I'm tempted to suggest to the coach that they work on their dribbling skills. When the ball squirts out of the swarm they don't know what to do but the other team turns and breaks right toward the goal. I just don't want to be "that parent."

Morning guys. Headed to the doc's office, wish me luck.
Good luck.

Do we need a 2013 Fantasy Football thread over here? I see the 2012 one but it's a year old and could use some updating.

Good Monday Morning Guys!

Time is flying and getting everything finished before I go is looking like a race to the finish. Two more sleeps and I'll be on my way. Meetings the next two nights as well so packed over the weekend. Family still packing. Warned them yesterday that I'm leaving without them if they are not packed and in the car by 4:30AM on Wednesday.:rotfl2:

Hope everyone is well. I'm off to catch up.

Hey CJ, did I mention I would be in WDW in 2 days? Just checking.:lmao::lmao:

As long as you're adding water and electric hookups to your yard, you might want to install a larger water main - 2" should give you enough pressure and water flow to do a proper wake up.

Going over Niagara Falls fourteen times?

You could choose a different mode of transportation for each plunge.
I have a feeling that the mode for trip #2 would either be body bag or stolen police car.

Great news!

What's on the agenda for the east coast trip?
Two weeks next summer - heading out to Niagara Falls, NYC, Washington DC, and several spots in between.

Evening guys! Had a great lunch with Jim today. Talked a lot of Disney and family. Great times.

It was great to catch up. Will have to do it again when we get back. DD hasn't slept all weekend, too excited. I think it's time for the Benedryl.:lmao::lmao:

For those going to WDW soon, hope you don't get the bands, noticed lots of problems with them, luckily we did not have them, but my friends did everyday someone in their party had a problem. Lots or entry into park hold ups with them seems like a lot of rebooting always happening:confused3:rotfl2:

Brent was testing the bands and is there now. We arrive on Wednesday, no band offer so will be be good to compare experiences.

Top of the morning guys. I'm ready for our fantasy draft!! :cool1:

We are filming our adoption fundraiser video today, at least starting it. Within the next month or two it will be featured on a website. We are going against the grain and making a happy, funny and cheerful video. Most of the ones take their cue from those "feed the children" commercials. I would rather make people smile and laugh then cry :thumbsup2

Drafted 3 rounds. Team looking good, but a lot of questions at receiver. Kept Welker and drafted Amendola, his replacement this morning. The Goofy division may in fact be a little goofy.:thumbsup2

Make em' laugh, smile and cry. Good luck on the video.

Good luck and safe travels the rest of the way.

I will! I'd like to see if we can squeeze in a trip to Nick's restaurant, but the 4 hour round trip might be a bit too much.

We did KY a few years back. But that was pre-Ryder, so we'll have to make it that way again sometime.

If you end up coming to MA or close, let me know. We'll schedule a meet up and can get Paul to come. I can send a bunch of things to do/see. Do you want educational, fun or other?

Serious question. The grandmothers insist on taking the kids to the beach. It looks like St. Petersburg, Daytona and Coaco Beach are about the same distance. Which would you recommend. Also, Daytona has Bike Week starting the 17th. We'd be going either the 16th or 17th. Any idea how bad bike week would be if we went there?

We loved Daytona:thumbsup2, but not sure bike week is the time to attend.:lmao::lmao: Have not been to the other, but as Norm notes the Atlantic side would be my choice.

Glad you made is safely! Enjoy!

Good to hear you made it safely. We got hammered around Tallahassee and most of the way to Orlando. We are finally here at the resort, just ordered a pizza too tired to eat anything else.

We did the same last year when arriving late. Most places were closed and it took us a half hour to find someone that would deliver. See you this weekend.

No risk. We usually plan a couple of later starts on days where we plan to be out late. Sounds like your having a great time. Keep on truckin'!

Welcome back! No moose, deer, polar bears or eskimo's were injured during the Canada Games.:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

It improves. Around year 15 all my ideas started becoming wonderful because I was told what my ideas would be.

Now that is a sound policy. For our 17th in October, I was already instructed on the location and activities to be planned.:goodvibes

A wake up call and a bath! :lmao::lmao: You must be stated one of those high class trailer parks. :rolleyes1

Congrats to DS on the goal! I remember those days. Why not just teach you son to stand out of the swarm, wait for the ball and charge the net.:confused3

This would have the added excitement of trying to avoid the cops between each plunge.

I remember having an 8 a.m. calculus class in my very first semester. Man, those were brutal. At one point, my roommate fell asleep on my shoulder during the lecture.

Good morning everyone!

Glad everyone's on the mend!

Two weeks next summer - heading out to Niagara Falls, NYC, Washington DC, and several spots in between.

That's going to be quite the epic road trip. That's one good thing about the East Coast--you can pick up a lot of attractions/states in a short amount of time.

Drafted 3 rounds. Team looking good, but a lot of questions at receiver. Kept Welker and drafted Amendola, his replacement this morning. The Goofy division may in fact be a little goofy.:thumbsup2

I took Amendola hoping he'd be good in a PPR league. And that he stays healthy. :scared1:
