Come on Randall, they don't have beaches in Canada. Only frozen Tundra. Do you have a Women's Frozen Tundra pic?:laughing:

Afternoon....hope everyone's having a good one....today is a rest/putter day. Set a big plate of fruit for the girls to snack on and movies (looks like rain anyways).

Yesterday was the Ontario Science Center, which we have season passes for. They have a rotational/temporary exhibit hall for special exhibits, and for the summer it is the Evolution of Video Games. Really wanted to attend it, so it was a good excuse to go. Really loved it, wished I could have played around more, but there are always crowds in the summer what with day camps families etc, and having to keep an eye on Audrey, didn't do as much as I wanted to.
Different areas were set up, all with the talk on how games were developed, and evolved over time, with focuses on characters, music, play methods, technology etc. Arcade games, home consoles etc. There were a couple of hundred consoles/cabinets etc set up for people to play (although with the wear and tear, approx 20% of these were down) Lots of Japanese imports and stuff I wasn't aware of, and every console from the classic Atari and Commadore's to Xbox 360 and Kinects Wii U etc. loads of fun though.

When you first get in, to the right there are some very old pinball/game of chance hybrids from the 20's-30's, but right staring you in the face is the Granddaddy of them all..Pong!

Some retro Pinballs...(also, no money needed, everything was free)

Tabletop consoles!

They set this up with an emulator loaded with mods you coupld cycle through..girls played Galaxian, Burger Time, Donkey Kong Jr, Pacman, and I played Ladybug, a pacman-like clone that we played a lot in my childhood up at the cottageat the snackbar.

Lots of colsoles on display, with the immortal Atari 2600, this one had Combat plugged in

A few more....

Handheld game displays..I had that big clunky Merlin game myself, loved it. No Game boys, they had their own display

Think I have DW talked into us comming here again before we go to Disney..here's hoping!

Do Penguins participate in kidnapping? :confused3

Absolutely. The Candian Penguins are Especially Worst.

I told her she has four years to graduate. Another year will really kill the budget.
.

Not paying for the fifth year cover charge for that party? :lmao:

:
It's especially rewarding to send a manager/director into a wall... just sayin' :lmao::lmao:

Which is why there are not many team building activities that involve shooting guns with management around. :lmao:

Why do all of the work events involve golf? I'm not a golfer so I end up staying in the office. Why can't it be fishing?
:

Sure fire way to improve your golf game.
Step 1 Drink beer
Step 2 Play golf

If you haven't improved, repeat step 1 until you do. Last time I did this and added up my scorecard, I was 5 under par for 18. :lmao:

That's a might late to be working. I'm pretty sure after working 3rd shift I'd board the wrong plane and up in Kentucky with Norm.:rotfl2:
!

C'mon in, the water's fine!

Why do all of the work events involve golf? I'm not a golfer so I end up staying in the office. Why can't it be fishing?

Because fishing doesn't give you the inherent adrenaline rush that golf provides.

Maybe a trip to the firing range would be fun as well. I can just imagine how nervous the VPs would be. :lmao:

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:

If you ain't first, you're last!

+1:thumbsup2

And the first thing you gotta learn if you're gonna be a racecar driver, is that you don't listen to losers like your know-it-all teacher here.

Man, that Atari 2600 brings back some memories. That was the pinnacle of technology, right there.

O.K., Go Cart racing would be good too. I'd still like to go out on that charter boat though...

You sound like my co-worker. Always complaining that all the outings are golf outings and he doesn't golf.

I told him he could always take it up and then he'd be able to get out of the office every once in a while. Until then, I'll go in his place! :thumbsup2

Twenty days out of the office… without it being due to having been furloughed or let go…
I’ll Take it. Even without a trip planed.
.

Good. 1 paid week this month. On my way to 11 weeks this year.

I've got you all beat. I'm next up for the evening shift at work. If I get it, I'll get off at 4am and the flight leaves at 8.

That sounds like a great plan.

Women's Beach Volleyball?

[]

A great sport. Watched the brazilians vs the Americans women's beach volleyball this weekend. I cheered for both, and was willing to comfort the losers.

OK... so... a month ago I somehow got voluntold to be this year's "Team Building Committee Coordinator". Not sure how that all happened, but ok... I ran with it. We have 65 people in this particular department and I formed a committee with 6 other folks to represent each of the sub-departments. After budget talks and sending out surveys, the winning event for this year's team building is..... GO CART RACING! :car::car:
.

Make sure everyone signs the waivers. :moped:

When in WDW, we'll leave everything in the room and only use it at the designated times prior to leaving. The kids are growing up too fast to miss something due to lack of attention.

I bring my phone for pictures. But, I only Internet after everyone is asleep.

Well, I came I saw, and Inverness conquered me! What a course!

Beautiful design, and more sandtraps than a beach!

I was pretty proud of myself, par'ing 5 out of the first 9 holes.

e!

See, when you take out that second sentence, it was a great day. Edit your memories.

Our first ninja member!

But certainly not the first to think he's a ninja.

We haven't had a run on ninja pictures in a while. :badpc:

Hey guys, been a few days.

The Pirate Princess got an email from her Academic Advisor telling her if she wants to graduate on time with her double major, she needed to add a class for at least the next two semesters. Now instead of a full time schedule, she is full time+. And the classes she needs are not easy. We had a long chat and she decided that her grades are more important so she notified the Cross Country Coach that she can't compete this year. A bit bummed but she still has the Dopey to get ready for in January.
le.

Bummer to hear about Cross Country. I was never good enough to make the team in college, but I did enjoy playing with those guys when I had a chance. Sounds like you raised a smart one.

First to ask to join the club via PM:.

Did you mention the dues?

I would like to join DDC. My name is Chris and I am a dad that is a HUGE Disney fan! We have an upcoming trip planned for 10/19 and will be staying at AKL. Thanks again and I look forward to joining the club! .

If you find this, dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake. You mail them to me and I will distribute to everyone.

Some of you know already that I scored a few packs of Duck Bacon today, while I have not yet tried it (cooking some tomorrow night), I picked up 2 packs for my friend down the street, who just texted me that he just tried it, text reads PICK All You Can Get if there is any left:confused3 I'm taking that as it was good:confused3

I was hoping for a report on the taste of bacon, or a sample in the mail. :stir:

Well, decision time..... it pains me to say it, but we've decided not to go to Disneyworld next September. Instead, due to the announcement that Star Wars Celebration is coming to Anaheim in April 2015, we're doing Disneyland instead, and we'll do WDW sometime down the road!

It is terrible to have those types of decisions.

4 days till vacation. I can do this. Stupid clients are a small price to pay....

Hey Sean. Good to hear from you.

Because fishing doesn't give you the inherent adrenaline rush that golf provides.

The only adrenaline rush I've ever felt on a golf course has been when:

A. A ball almost hits me
B. My ball almost hits somebody else
C. I just finished jumping up and down, throwing clubs and shouting 4 letter words.

Good news, Bad news. The minivan is dead.

As some of you know, the check engine light has been on since 2010. The report was a defective air sensor, which connects to the catalytic converter. So, no need to replace and I would know when it started to smell, get worse gas mileage, and worse performance. The van had been stinking for several weeks on occasion, acceleration was worsening, and yesterday, temp gauge hit Hot.

Good news, Bad news. The minivan is dead.

I had been Internet shopping cars and found a 2010 Toyota Camry, 30,000 miles, for $13,800. I now own it, or more accurately, DW now owns it, and i have no emergncy fund. I now get to drive the Tumbler, i.e., Pontiac Aztek with 100K miles and transmission issues.

Anyway, here's a picture.

Congrats on the new ride! Sorry to hear your wallet took a hit for it.

I'm not sure whether to congratulate you, or say I'm sorry since you don't even get to drive the new vehicle.

Fishing can be fun. I mean you can't tell me that you wouldn't have an adrenaline rush (and probably crap your pants) if you reeled in a nice big shark or something.

And you can't "race" golf carts. They always seem to be governed at the same speed, which makes racing difficult.

You can, however, get some pretty good bumper car action going (that's why they put those big rubber bumpers on them) and that rear axel braking system makes it easy to get some good power slides going around the curves. Just make sure there's no holes to catch a tire in when you do that. Those things flip easy. :rolleyes1

Speaking of the importance of education...
So I'm trying to negotiate with my wife last night for our 2014 WDW trip. This is the big one I've been waiting for with all the in-laws (who I genuinely enjoy). She wants October with cooler weather and better crowds for a 5-day trip where the kids only miss 3 or 4 days of school. I was angling for a 8-day extravaganza.. Negotiations started breaking down and I had a stupid moment. "Look- this is the trip I've been looking forward to for 9 years. I don't want something as stupid as school getting in the way of that." :sad2:

Out of curiosity, where'd you get it? Private party of dealer?
