DIS Dads DDC XXIX: We’re Over 750 Dads, With A Disney Problem!

Well, decision time..... it pains me to say it, but we've decided not to go to Disneyworld next September. Instead, due to the announcement that Star Wars Celebration is coming to Anaheim in April 2015, we're doing Disneyland instead, and we'll do WDW sometime down the road!

Oh wow. I think I just changed my plans now too.

I'm ready to get rid of them now. I've got my smart phone, iPad, cable tv, and desktop computer. It is a terrible habit that I have just added to throughout the years.

You just miss so much of what is going on when your nose is buried in your phone all day. We have a desktop, 3 laptops, 2 iPads and 3 iPhones between the 4 of us. The laptop, iPad and iPhone my DS has and the laptop DD has were given to them by grandma. DD still has no phone and I have managed to stave off that revolution for now.

When in WDW, we'll leave everything in the room and only use it at the designated times prior to leaving. The kids are growing up too fast to miss something due to lack of attention.

Beautiful design, and more sandtraps than a beach!

I was pretty proud of myself, par'ing 5 out of the first 9 holes. Then I played the back nine and my game took a crap.

If anyone ever gets an opportunity to play there, take it! Lots of History!

The Pirate Princess got an email from her Academic Advisor telling her if she wants to graduate on time with her double major, she needed to add a class for at least the next two semesters. Now instead of a full time schedule, she is full time+. And the classes she needs are not easy.

Hey guys, been a few days.

The Pirate Princess got an email from her Academic Advisor telling her if she wants to graduate on time with her double major, she needed to add a class for at least the next two semesters. Now instead of a full time schedule, she is full time+. And the classes she needs are not easy. We had a long chat and she decided that her grades are more important so she notified the Cross Country Coach that she can't compete this year. A bit bummed but she still has the Dopey to get ready for in January.

Sorry to hear PP has to drop track, but I guess it's for the best in the long run. I know that playing soccer and hoop during college were some of my best memories. Still have a lot of close friends from those teams.

Hopefully the full time+ doesn't mean tuition payment+.

Completely agree, I had kids put the iPhones on airplane mode when we hit MK this past june so they could still use camera function. I did not bring laptop on June vaca, first time ever. I set auto message to out of office will talk to you upon return - felt great

Going to be interested though in how Fastplus+ and My Disney Experience is going to require phones & iPads in the parks

Hadn't actually thought of MDE having all of the reservations. No fastpass+ for us so I guess we'll just have to go old fashioned and use pen and paper. It will make it difficult to remove technology in the future if you need it to tour the parks......

Some of you know already that I scored a few packs of Duck Bacon today, while I have not yet tried it (cooking some tomorrow night), I picked up 2 packs for my friend down the street, who just texted me that he just tried it, text reads PICK All You Can Get if there is any left I'm taking that as it was good

Duck Bacon. Have never even seen it around here. May need to look into it. Let us know what you think when you get a chance to try it. While staying with friends over the weekend, my kids were asked if they wanted bacon with breakfast. There were 2 pounds of bacon and it was gone before the plate hit the table. They have 3 boys and my 2 monsters.

DL is a good substitution. We are still trying to see when a DL/Alauni trip can be worked into the schedule.

Yeah - some of the courses pay me to come and play them. Then I get stuck signing autographs all day to all of my groupies....

DS already hit me up with the April 2015 SW Celebratin in Anaheim. We have done 2 SW Celebrations, forget the numbers, but we did Indianapolis and Los Angeles. Challenge is as kids get into high school it is tough to pull them out of school for an entire week and our schools are beyond a pain in the backside on this even with straight A students. Gonna have to figure this out though as SW Celebration combined with DL would be sweet. Here is DS and me at Celebration in LA:
