I will be the first to admit that I'm not mechanical. Give me a network or computer and I'm good.
There are other issues as well, we were pushing it this year to afford the trip, and my car needs some A/C love also, so that was just the straw that broke the camels back.

Matt

Sorry about the car Matt. That truly sucks!!

I'm right there with you on not being mechanical. Give me a computer and I'm good.

Yeah I use Lightroom 4, I want a 10-20mm also for VR Panoramic shots. I have my panoramic head already so I can do VR 360s in hotels, etc. I feel you on having a bag full of lenses. This past trip I got so fed up switching back and forth from 18-55 back to 55-300 and then back again. I would love a low light lens just for that as well. But there I go again with a bag of lenses. Crap my woman is going to kill me. But besides the two 32GB cards, I also have Two back up 16GBs just in case of emergencies.

Go back a 10 pages. CJ is taking underwater pictures at Aulani, which is just amazing. I think you picture guys, my cousin is one, take great photos, but I am just not patient enough or willing to carry all that stuff.

Back to the stuff I know, I bought some Woodford Reserve and restocked with Landshark.

Sorry to hear about the fireworks cancellation. They have ours as we shoot them over the river.

Well, they haven't been cancelled yet, but if they are, I won't complain too much. It's bloody hot outside - the only things out in the noonday sun are mad dogs and Englishmen.

Got in a few games of pool this morning, but the only won that I won, I won on a technicality. Meh. Had fun anyway, except for when I dropped one of the beers transporting it to the car.

Happy 4th. I just got done working the grave yard shift and am off to bed.

Woodford is really good. I'm a Scotch and Irish guy. Bushmills Black is really good.

I remember those shifts. Thankfully, I don't have them anymore, although, I did do fairly well on 3rd shift. I never got into Scotch all that much. Being from KY, there are just so many different types of good bourbon here. Somehow, I got introduced to cognac and I do enjoy that on occasion as wells vodka. Draft beer is still my preference. Don was going to drive down, refinish a room, and install a kegerator. He must have gotten lost somewhere.

DW had me go outside and grill for our annual 4th July tradition. I told her that tradition usually involved friends, lots of beer, fireworks, and an occasional cigar if I can sneak that by the dds. Since it is too hot for all that other stuff, I thought I would escape the grill. Nope. I told her I could grill on the sidewalk. She was not amused. Mission, hotly, accomplished. Grilled hamburger and hotdogs.

Good to see you around Nick! Did you find someone you trust to run the restaurant while you're gone or did you shut down for vacation?

We just shut it down, maybe I have a little OCD when it comes to the food but I find it easier to put a sign up and just close.
Our customers are pretty cool about it, they give me the gears about closing but always say "good for you guys".
Definitely miss my paid vacations from my old job......but that's about it!

Could be worse Virginia has every police officer and fire fighter out looking for anything that is illegal to set off. What happened to our independence and celebrating freedom? We can't eve light off decent fireworks, geeeeeeeesssse!

Have to admit you guys certainly know about fireworks, Canadian ones are lame in comparison. We may have had a few American fireworks at my house on sat night, how they got there?........
I'll never tell.

Yeah we used to go to South Carolina and get the good ones. But now they are cracking down on, get this, trafficking of fireworks across state lines. Party poopers!

I'm using Lightroom 4 as well. I like it a lot. Really helps on overexposed pics!

Yes it does. Well worth the money!!!

Try crossing a border....yikes!!

I'm am completely green when it comes to photo editing, I am trying to figure out where to start. I would be using a MacBook to work on.
What would you recommend?

My job is just supposed to be weekends but they called all us weekenders in to work the 4th and the rest of this week. Can't complain, the money is good. I deal blackjack at a local casino for those wondering.

Bourbon is good and you probably got your pick of all the local distilleries too.

After owning PCs, Windows phone, DW's kindle (android), & my new iPad, I have to say that I really like the apple operating system. I really like my windows phone, the operating system is exceptional and way better than android, but the iOS is so much easier to use. iTunes vs Zune is not even comparable. I'm ready to start changing everything over to Apple.

They say that with the ban here, the police are out enforcing it. However, fireworks have been going off around us for days and no enforcement. You think people would display some common sense, but that would be asking too much.

An awesome job. I bet you have some stories. I'll live vicariously thru you for awhile. I have a super boring job, but it has great benefits, which is why I stay. As for the other, my grandfather worked and retired from a local distillery. Alcohol runs in my blood - literally.

I did that as well switching over to apple products. But still have the pcs also. Yeah common sense would be awesome. Then we could enjoy better things like those.

Yeah it is actually really easy to use. But if you have questions you can ask me. I use a MacBook pro also.

We have an iMac. I use a Canon T3. Our last trip I took too many shots. This trip my plan is to focus more on the framing of the shot rather than shoot a hundred and hoping one comes out.

And although he has all the right equipment... he has no clue how to use any of it... hence the over exposed pics.

Gotta love it when your nemesis just tee's 'em up, and you swing for the fences... :rotfl2:

I typically shoot between 5 - 10 shots on subject or scenery at Disney world. Just because it changes so much, someone can walk through the shot or bird flies through. So I have backups to sort through once back at the hotel.

Canon T3 nice, I have shot with those before on some jobs. I like the shutter sounds believe it or not. But I love my features on the D5100. Next time I upgrade it will be to something in the D3.
