Do you have a gun that shoots big enough caliber ammo? They'd probably laugh at you if you walked in with a .22 :rotfl::lmao:

I would laugh too. Just a shotgun. It would be difficult to aim a gun at 3:00 AM in an emergency at an intruder, by I figure with my shotgun, I just have to get close.

Softball was cancelled tonite due to threat of t-storms. They kept seeing lightening in the east, so I told them to look to the West where the was no lightening. Some thought it was funny. So, games postponed to tomorrow and then championship game postponed to Monday. It is the softball season that will never end.

That's what we keep telling the soccer referees; "Stop looking where those really dark clouds are. IF you turn the other way, the sky is nice and bright." :rotfl::rotfl:

Nothing wrong with that...we have shotgun ammo...come on down:thumbsup2

I've tried that a couple of times myself...

But they still would not look the other way. I am a sanctioned soccer ref and licensed coach. I never want to call a game from either standpoint. The official rule is to wait 30 minutes after you hear thunder, which I think is ridiculous. Even in my little town, which has a 3.5 mile radius, there are parts of town that will get rain and other parts that won't get anything. Plus, being on the Ohio River, it seems that storms will just follow along over the river and not reach land. I know that we went to keep our children safe, but sometimes, common sense is just not used. When we left softball last night, the field was a little wet but no mud. When we got home, east of the field where all the lightening was, our yard had puddles and wind had blown over stuff. Common sense.

I have no hope in moving to the top of the post list but I've never been this high up before so I need to protect my place.

Time to post some sport day pictures from the group I was with yesterday - one at a time of course.

I think the rule they use here is 20 minutes for the first and then if there more lightning during that 20 minutes, they wait another 30. Things are pretty strict here as there was a young girl killed by a lightning strike about 6 years ago. It happened during a game in a tournament.

...

I'd like to take you up on that one day. Hopefully, I can shorten that commute before your retire or transfer to a desk job so I can shoot with you.

Having dinner at St. Elmo's steakhouse in downtown Indy tonight. It's nice when a vendor is picking up the tab!

I'm not advocating having kids play in the storms. Personally, I never was a big fan of playing in the rain. But, when you can see that the storm has blown over and it is clear where the storm was, you look on the radar and see ther are no more storms, I think it is safe odds that the storm is not going to put itself in reverse. The game was scheduled at 6, we waited to 7, the storm blew over, and finally called at 8:00. The softball field has lights, but no go.
