It was a show, didn't think I'd be running it though :rotfl2: Tomorrow should be better I hope.

A very nice night tonight, we headed over to Jodi's cousin's place in the Downsview area of Toronto. First time I had been there since her uncle died a couple of years ago. We had an unofficial birthday party for both myself and Jo's cousin who is a whole day older then me :lmao: so two birds with one stone. Dinner was good ol' fashioned fish & chips.

My birthday haul from DW and the girls was a load of books all on the Titanic. I've got some good quality reading ahead of me.

DW found this pic and grabbed it for me. I just hope I can find the other half somwhere...

people don't give books as gifts often enough!

Nice pics. Never seen those before. Do you know who's on the others??

Decided I did not travel enough lately so am headed to the Keys in the morning. The Pirate Princess has a car wash for her lacrosse team so she will not be going. Spending one night and may dive on Sunday morning. Depends on the weather and conditions. Yea, my life sucks so bad.

Really difficult question. If I only could pick one, then I would have to go with Vero. But, I really liked them both.

I think they both have similarities in the activities they offer. Hilton Head has 2 pools, one with a volleyball net. But, I think I would have to go with Vero. The main reason is that the resort is right on the ocean. Yes, HHI has a view of the marsh, but it is not the same as the ocean. Plus, Vero has a green lawn for outside games, a mini golf course right next to the pool, and they did a resort scavenger hunt which dds had the best of time. The problem with Vero is that you have to close your shades during turtle season, which if you have an ocean view, kinda stinks that you can't see your ocean at night. Plus, HHI has a 10 hour drive as opposed to a 14 hour drive to Vero.

peeping turtles??

Yeah, Happy (belated) Birthday!!

Thanks all again for the birthday wishes, it was interesting to say the least. Boss ended up catching this NASTY bug from his son, so called in sick. I was quite :scared1: at this, meant useless was in charge. So I laid out the cash assignments etc, sent out the orders that needed to go, and got to the 18 skids (!) of stock to go out, including a LOT of beer (that SOMEONE ordered in excess :rolleyes1). I got my trusted friend Sharon to help (she who had her face cut by broken glass last year) she is a harder worker then me. We plowed through the skids as best as we could (by myself 1/2 hour per skid, we did a couple 10 mins easily), but there were lots of delays too, scanner issues etc, and I had to take time to handle staff issues. And worse of all, in the morning, everyone decided to stay running cash, no help whatsoever, just stood around:headache:. In the end though, we got 'er done, and Boss called to chevk out progress was elated we got things fixed. Needless to say, I won major points and made myself to look pretty damn good to boot. There are a few jealous folks now, I riled up. :thumbsup2 Poor babies. Mind you, I took a whopping 5 minute break in 9 1/2 hours, but ohwell, when I get moving like that, if I stop, I STOP.

Get to enjoy Friday off...we were going to hit the zoo, but frankly, I'm beat so we will stay close to home. DW's cousn invited usto a BBQ anyways. Saturday we do it all over again. :lmao:

let them be jealous. It's certainly not because of what you did... it's because of what they didn't do!

Today is going to be BEVERLY kind of day, I can already tell. I've been here less than 2 hrs and I'm ready to go home for the day and waste the vacation time. :headache:

Matt

hope it got better for you.

Decided I did not travel enough lately so am headed to the Keys in the morning. The Pirate Princess has a car wash for her lacrosse team so she will not be going. Spending one night and may dive on Sunday morning. Depends on the weather and conditions. Yea, my life sucks so bad.

how do you put up with it all?? :lmao:

Since we just had the real opening day of baseball, it reminded me of Jackie Robinson and what he had to deal with in certain towns, the difference between how he was treated in training camp and the nearby cities. While I am not perfect in anyway, it still shocks me how people, to this day, chose to treat other people and somehow make it morally acceptable in their own mind, and then are able to obtain followers to aid them in that behavior.

Ok, so that is way to much effort for a Friday and on a vacation day. Burp. That's better.

it boggles the mind sometimes. Live and let live.

Morning gentlemen, just in the office for a few minutes to sign time sheets and check on important news :rolleyes1. We are off to OH today, though not as quickly as I would have liked :headache:, and won't be on for a few days so I wish you all a Happy Easter/Passover.

Try to keep it under control as well. Last time I went away and left you guys on your own the Thread That Shall Not Be Mentioned occurred.
:scared1::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

didn't you just mention it?? :confused3

It is the 40s here so I get that part, but it is also windy so dd and I will go fly her kite later. A paid vacation day out of the office is always better than a day there.

hard to argue with that logic.

Morning all!! A little story for Friday:

This took place about 20 years ago when my Niece was 5, DW and I lived about an hour away from my sister. Since my sister is 12 years older than me, DW and I always prided ourselves on being "the cool" Aunt and Uncle. We found out we were going to be working on Easter Sunday so we made plans to visit the weekend before. When my Niece woke up on that Sunday we had created our own "mini version" of Easter, complete with egg hunt and a bunch of toys and candy.
Now I know what you're thinking, "You cannot mess with the Easter Bunny-Time Continuum", well we had a plan for that!
DW is Maltese (little country just south of Sicily) and we told an elaborate story of "The Maltese Easter Bunny". Now, the Maltese Easter bunny visits the families of all the Maltese people all over the world, but since he doesn't have a sleigh like Santa he has to take a plane, and since it's 12 hours to fly from Malta to Canada it is just easier for everyone if he makes his North America visits the week before to ensure he has plenty of time to get back to Malta in case he gets bumped off a flight or misses a connection.
Well my Niece was thrilled, my Sister was happy, everything was right with the universe, and our status of "Greatest Aunt and Uncle Ever" was further solidified.......

Right?:confused3

WRONG!

My Sister calls me about 10:00 the next morning, NOT Happy!:headache:

You see, my Niece went to school and during "share time" shared the legend of the Maltese Easter Bunny, which immediately set off waves of crying and various level of anger amongst her classmates whom the bunny did not visit:scared1:!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

very funny!! :lmao::rotfl2:

Morning guys. Happy Easter/Passover to everyone.

For those of you not working today; :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 <= not thumbs.

not working job #1, but working job #2

DW had a great idea for a gift for my birthday this year - personalized license plates. She wanted to run it by me first before she ordered them, since you can't return them. I told it her is was a great idea!

She is ordering Texas Rangers plates. We had space for 5 characters, so we tried a bunch of different combinations to try to find something cool that was available. We almost went with FU*NY, but thought it might not get approved. :lmao: We ended up blending two of my favorites together in one - Texas Rangers plates with EPCOT for the letters. :thumbsup2

I like the idea!! :thumbsup2

Happy Good Friday/Passover to everyone. For Lent DD gave up junk food (sodas, chips, desserts of any kind, candy etc.). She sees light at the end of the tunnel. I see a sugar overdose coming Sunday.

My money is on sugar OD as well!

I need help Please
this is the story I bought a Samsung TV in "2008" the last 2 months i have been having trouble with it , then my luck changed get a letter from Samsung they got a class action suit against them for 2 parts that they will send a tech over to try and fix it , I was not home my fil was he played with buttons and it turned on . basically he said it could be the cable box which it was not . about a week after it started to happend again they made a tech come over but this time he said he would order the parts that Samsung will cover but he did not look at the TV this trip . so Today i get a phone call from Samsung saying they do not make these parts and they can do an exchange for me . Ok what the deal how much i said they said $650.00 so i said to the lady wait your company puts a defective part in TV's and you want the consumer to pay more for your mistake ! . I said can you have a supervisor call me please so now i wait for the supervisor to call me !
are they really allowed to pro rate something that was defective from the beging ? and allowed to do this ?
any help would be awesome Thank you for letting me rant
Jeff
thank you Dads

Hey Jeff, sorry you're going through this.

The TV they are offering, what is the regular retail price of it if you were going to buy it?

As someone who runs a help desk, all I can say is when the supervisor calls, don't "go off" on him. If he has any power to do anything more for you, you will get a lot further if you lay out your case, let them know you are very upset, and let them know their company has put him in an akward position.

Two lines that go pretty far are:

"I understand you didn't make the decision to stop making the parts but there has to be something more you can do."

and "You have to realize from my point this will make me seriously reconsider buying or recommending another Samsung product at any time in the future."

Jeff, still catching up and hoping to see good news about this in the next couple of pages. always good advice to keep your head when dealing with people (even if they are idiots).

We just had a Navy F/A-18 Hornet crash into a neighborhood apartment complex in Virginia Beach (About 15 minutes from me). The pilots are ok with injuries... and no reported injuries/death on the ground... but please pray for the people involved in this accident.

Navy confirms jet has crashed in Virginia Beach

didn't hear about this until I got to work. horrible thing to happen. I hope they people unaccounted for weren't home.

Well guys, I'm off!

Get to skip out of work early to go to MONSTER JAM!!!!!!!!!tonight.

Then tomorrow morning its the monthly free build at Home Depot (a window bird feeder), then off to a massive Easter egg hunt 60,000 eggs!

For those of you traveling, stay safe.

Everyone, have a great, and Blessed weekend!

And a VERY special Happy 1st Easter to Ryder!

That's a lot of eggs... so, see you around Memorial Day??

i have completed reading 5 installments of dons trip report. :lmao:
im off to cut the grass for the first time of the season. starting the mower the first time is always fun. i will tell the kids and women to please go back into the house till you hear the mower running. :lmao:
you guys who are travling this weekend, stay safe and have a great easter and passover. :thumbsup2

good luck with the mower!

i looked at the grass, it can go another week. :lmao:

i think I heard your mower let out a sigh of relief.

Oh how i now what you mean!!!! My weedeater stopped working today and the riding mower has decided that it is not going to work either....we have 40 people coming over tomorrow for an egg hunt so needless to say the yard looks like a piece of beverly!!

All right, all caught up. And killed about 5 hours of my shift. 3 more to go and then it's home, where DW promised me a nap before making us get in the car to drive to SIL's house in Boston.

let's see, what has happened in the last couple of days...

oh, DS took his first steps! totally caught me by surprise, but I grabbed my phone, stood him up again, and recorded his second (as far as I know it was his second) set of steps.

I don't know how to say "No" to DD. Especially when all she wants is to help me do things. On Wednesday afternoon, I decided to take out our "stinky bush". Not sure what kind it is, but when it blooms it really stinks and attracts flies. It had to go. Anyway... DD wanted to help. So I was supervising her as the used the pruner to cut off branches... very cute, but painstakingly slow. Instead of getting the bush done before going to work, I had to leave it for thursday.

Same thing today with painting our basement. DD wanted to help so badly... only half the room got done. How can I turn her down when she just wants to help??

lastly, on the diet front... today was weigh-in day and I am down another 4lbs!! now at 225!! that's a total of 15lbs since I started. The other day someone actually commented at work. They seemed concerned, perhaps thinking I was sick or something. I explained it was completely on purpose. Still made me feel good to hear that.

of course, this weekend will be rough with all the food and candy... this overnight shift is already doing a number on me. As soon as it was midnight and my calorie counter reset... I started snacking to help get me by at work. hopefully it won't throw me off too much.

thanks for the tip!!

my issues are more in the area of pressure and temperature regulation... which may mean just pressure?

That's going to be.. If its just one shower and you have single handle valve, it's Your diverter/valve. If its throughout your house, it's more than likely your water heater is gunked up.

:rotfl2: Lawn mower didn't start?? :lmao:

didnt try it. grass looks good. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

They were! They really were!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

:rotfl:
:lmao: glad to hear!
if you guys are not brave enough to tear your plumbing apart.. Get a product called "thrift" you can only get it from a plumbing supply place. But it will work 100 times better than any of the crappy liquid plumber!! :thumbsup2
whos that made by carl? we sell a product from sos called blast out. its made in east greenville pa. we can only sell it to the trade. nasty stuff. its mostly acid. dump it down the drain, the house smells like rotten eggs.

Morning...just noshing a couple of hot cross buns before heading out to work

people don't give books as gifts often enough!

Nice pics. Never seen those before. Do you know who's on the others??

No idea who, she just saw someone posted them so she saved the pics for me. And you found the Hook pic, now just the 3 guys/quicksand pic to go

And I love books, so a lot of my gifts revolve around them. Place is loaded with them. Reminds me I need a new one for work, to read during lunch breaks....

All right, all caught up. And killed about 5 hours of my shift. 3 more to go and then it's home, where DW promised me a nap before making us get in the car to drive to SIL's house in Boston.

Wish the girls would help out more....:rotfl2: I ask Audrey to help clean up, I usually get "No thank you" :rotfl2: Yay to DS!! Pretty soon he won't stop going!

I always find myself getting "approval" lately whether I need to or not. I think I've been fully conditioned. :sad2::lmao:

Thrift info sheet
this is pretty good it really doesn't stink but after you activate it I wouldn't hang around. The fumes will burn your skin.

Whereabouts in Boston? :confused3

good morning all!! its off to work i go till noon today. have a good morning! :thumbsup2

Top of the morning :cool1:

Happy Saturday :rotfl2:

Morning...just noshing a couple of hot cross buns before heading out to work

Morning guys! :surfweb:

oh, DS took his first steps! totally caught me by surprise, but I grabbed my phone, stood him up again, and recorded his second (as far as I know it was his second) set of steps.

Very special moment... congrats. In a couple of years you will completely forget that you got his second steps, so let's officially call that one his first.

On Wednesday afternoon, I decided to take out our "stinky bush". Not sure what kind it is, but when it blooms it really stinks and attracts flies.

Must... resist.... joke....

But as far as she is concerned she helped... ;)

That's what's important.

lastly, on the diet front... today was weigh-in day and I am down another 4lbs!! now at 225!! that's a total of 15lbs since I started.

Congrat's...

party: :wishfifteen party:

Saw that. At least the Marlins didn't do that. But they could go 0-3 tonight. Have 20 games that I have tickets for so it could get painful. Plenty of beer will numb the pain though. And Norm, other than the Heat, Miami does not have professional sports teams.
I won't lie, I'm hoping to see them go 0-3 tonight. :rolleyes1

I think they'll be fine once they gel. Plenty of pop in that lineup. With Reyes, Bonaficio and Hanley in the heart of the lineup, you've got guys who are good at getting on, can hit with some power and are a terror on the basepaths. A lot of teams would kill for that combination. They've just got to get it all together and Hanley's got to start making some contact.:lmao: I really like Stanton, Morrison and Sanchez too.

Buerhle is primed to have a huge year this year. I really see him doing well with that infield behind him. He's a ground ball pitcher and he's got probably a better D behind him than he ever had in Chicago.

Decided I did not travel enough lately so am headed to the Keys in the morning. The Pirate Princess has a car wash for her lacrosse team so she will not be going. Spending one night and may dive on Sunday morning. Depends on the weather and conditions. Yea, my life sucks so bad.

You at so deprived. You need a vacation from all your vacations.

peeping turtles?
ou.

During the hatching season, they ask for your to close the blinds so the turtles will find their way to rh ocean and not your hotel room.

lastly, on the diet front... today was weigh-in day and I am down another 4lbs!! now at 225!! that's a total of 15lbs since I started. The other day someone actually commented at work. Congrata to you. As for me, no exercise and lots of great food on vacation did not do well. I'll find out tomorrow.

Top of the morning :cool1:

Happy Saturday :rotfl2:

Morning Dave.
