As a matter of fact I am Vice President of the Universe...so Yes I do! :rotfl2:

Come on Steve - everyone knows the title is Vice Prime Minister of the Universe.

On another note, DW's co-workers sent us an Edible Arrangement. I think they pretty much nailed it. :thumbsup2

My mistake...call it a Biden mispeak!:rotfl2:

Love edible arrangements and that one looks great!!! Someone had good taste!! No pun intended LOL:thumbsup2

:lmao:HOW BOUT THEM PHIGHTIN PHILLIES!!! :lmao::lmao:
the great phillies 1 the phantastic pirates 0
get the parade floats ready in philly for october!!! :lmao:

Was it the Phillies great pitching or Pirates lack of offense. Oh wait, have the Pirates had any offense the past decade?

Norm - never having visited a Disney resort outside of WDW leads me to wonder....

Was there enough activities to do, and things to see to keep you busy for the week?
How much of it was included with the price of admission, and how much is above and beyond?
Pricing it out, it looks like it costs about the same as a WDW vacation. Is it worth the $$$?

Looks like you had a great time, and the weather really co-operated. :thumbsup2

As for the money, we did it on DVC points, so no extra costs. The restaurants in the area are close to some of the WDW restaurants on pricing. As for the activities, everything I posted, except for the low country boil and food, was free. They had the campfire and s'mores two nights I didn't photograph which we're also free. The pool games, like at WDW resorts, were free. Beach house was free. Transportation to beach house is free. If we go again, the paid activities I would like to do would be kayak, boat rental, fishing, and dolphin tour. They also did paid t-shirt decorations, hemp bracelets, and some other paid stuff. There is similar stuff at Vero Beach. It may have been different if the weather was bad, but that is the chance you take.

Is it worth it? For DVC, absolutely. If not DVC, it would depend on what price you could get. It had more activities than the Holiday Inn in Panama City Beach.

State taxes done. ouch. I miss Ohio.

yes, KY taxes are real high compared to what we get.

Thursday night ownage.

Norm, which did you prefer Vero or HH?

Really difficult question. If I only could pick one, then I would have to go with Vero. But, I really liked them both.

I think they both have similarities in the activities they offer. Hilton Head has 2 pools, one with a volleyball net. But, I think I would have to go with Vero. The main reason is that the resort is right on the ocean. Yes, HHI has a view of the marsh, but it is not the same as the ocean. Plus, Vero has a green lawn for outside games, a mini golf course right next to the pool, and they did a resort scavenger hunt which dds had the best of time. The problem with Vero is that you have to close your shades during turtle season, which if you have an ocean view, kinda stinks that you can't see your ocean at night. Plus, HHI has a 10 hour drive as opposed to a 14 hour drive to Vero.

Opening day and the Cubs already have me looking for a sharp object.:sad2:

It is the Cubs. What did you expect?

Your birthday is one of the biggest drinking days in Canada? :worship::worship:

Happy Birthday! I'll raise a Molson to you!

Molson? Ugh...well, Molson M maybe. Yeah it' a National Holiday, what can I say? :lmao: Never sold anything today myself.

Always a great feeling to not be responsible for the problem. Happy birthday Brent!

No, today, I truely was, the solution :thumbsup2

Isn't it funny how people don't understand the fact that if you screw up, being all pissy about it after you get called out makes it worse. I've been promoted twice in my career for the sole fact that when everyone around me started getting ticked off at every little thing I just kept doing the same thing I had been doing, but somehow by comparison it looked like I was really stepping up.

Well, I've stepped it up a bit, but really it's no more then what I've learned to do, and a good mix of procedure and common sense. I don't mind saying, I make around $26/hour and they should get their $$'s worth. The one guy is so oblivious to anything it's not funny anymore (well, I still take shots at it) and cannot understand why there is problems. The other is now T minus 2 months till retirement, and does not care anymore.

The problem is though, all promotions are seniority based, throught the district/region and in some cases, provincial, so I have a way to go there.

Happy Birthday Brent!

I used to go to Tucker's Marketplace all the time. My office used to be right down the street (on Attwell Drive).

We would go before Major's games now and then, and usually go on my/DW's birthdays simply for the free meal, and the kids are "pay their ages" still, so it works out nice.

Thanks all again for the birthday wishes, it was interesting to say the least. Boss ended up catching this NASTY bug from his son, so called in sick. I was quite :scared1: at this, meant useless was in charge. So I laid out the cash assignments etc, sent out the orders that needed to go, and got to the 18 skids (!) of stock to go out, including a LOT of beer (that SOMEONE ordered in excess :rolleyes1). I got my trusted friend Sharon to help (she who had her face cut by broken glass last year) she is a harder worker then me. We plowed through the skids as best as we could (by myself 1/2 hour per skid, we did a couple 10 mins easily), but there were lots of delays too, scanner issues etc, and I had to take time to handle staff issues. And worse of all, in the morning, everyone decided to stay running cash, no help whatsoever, just stood around:headache:. In the end though, we got 'er done, and Boss called to chevk out progress was elated we got things fixed. Needless to say, I won major points and made myself to look pretty damn good to boot. There are a few jealous folks now, I riled up. :thumbsup2 Poor babies. Mind you, I took a whopping 5 minute break in 9 1/2 hours, but ohwell, when I get moving like that, if I stop, I STOP.

Get to enjoy Friday off...we were going to hit the zoo, but frankly, I'm beat so we will stay close to home. DW's cousn invited usto a BBQ anyways. Saturday we do it all over again. :lmao:

Was just reading News & Rumors on the It's A Disney World After All site, and I found a couple things some of you might be interested in:confused3

- The Citrus Swirl is back and you can get it at The Sunshine Tree Terrace

- Russell & Dug from UP are now featured as a Meet & Greet at the Tough to be a Bug entrance replacing Flik

Looks like an awesome park. Too bad their performance didn't exactly live up to expectations. You're going to have fun this year with Ozzie as manager. They showed his reaction on TV to that slow grounder that got between Reyes and Ramirez and said something along the lines of "it's started already and only 161 games to go." :lmao::rotfl2:

I can't believe they'd run out of beer on opening night!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

No tailgating??? That's why they've had trouble drawing crowds for the last several years. They didn't need a new park, they just needed to allow "fun." :lmao:

The whole place wasn't out of beer, just the stand I picked and waited 20 minutes for a hot dog and a beer. Went into another line for another 20 minutes.

The old place you could tailgate. Miami is a crummy sports town. If it is not an event. people don't show. The park is nice but I will take Chicago or Baltimore over here. Never went to Fenway. Love baseball so I came back and bought a 20 game package. Ozzie was pretty calm at the press conference after the first game. Don't think it will last.

Oh Holy Crap. I've seen video of this thing on youtube. I though it was an April Fool's joke.

Did they really paint the entire outfield wall chroma key green? Do they plan on inserting ads into the TV broadcasts?

It is UGLY. Don't give them ideas on selling ads on the outfield wall. They would do it.

Thanks all or the birthday wishes, think it is going to be a good and fruitfull day :thumbsup2

Happy birthday dude.

I understand the whole opening day to themselves to showcase their new park and all... but traveling to play the next day somewhere else??? :confused3

Doesn't make sense other than having the World Champions open the park as the opposing team.

Like the IASW RIDE. Never read the books.

I said I would adopt her if you can get the paperwork to go thru in time.

LIKE IASW? Say it isn't so. And the adoption paperwork was sent with your ticket to the game.

As a matter of fact I am Vice President of the Universe...so Yes I do! :rotfl2:

Come on Steve - everyone knows the title is Vice Prime Minister of the Universe.

It took a lot of training, trials and tribulations to become the Ruler of the universe.

I will allow as an interm basis, as Barry suggests... Vice Prime Minister, but we will start with just the Galaxy... once you get beyond the Milky Way, it's a WHOLE different ball game that I am not sure you Steve will be able to handle yet. Let's walk before we run. ;)

On another note, DW's co-workers sent us an Edible Arrangement. I think they pretty much nailed it. :thumbsup2
