DIS Dads DDC XVIII - Spring Fever!

You can do it.

1 Hour, 20 minutes to go. Co-worker has us watching Mad Men. That's making time go by faster somewhat. I've never watched the show before.

Shortbread seems to be the least favorite followed closely by ShoutOuts. They will never get rid of the shortbread though because it was the first if I remember correctly. I like shortbread but for $3.50 I can get better shortbread. I haven't tried the ShoutOuts but my wife had to sample each as troop leader and she said they are OK. I would eat any of them if I had to other than the Caramel Delights but here in eastern KY the peanut butter patties and caramel delights are the preferred varieties. Maybe because we have 4 of the 5 poorest counties in the nation? Nationally it is thin mints. I'm not sure if we are the only odd place or if there are regional differences elsewhere.

I think I've had the shortbread, and thin mints. Don't think I've tried any others.

If I want assistant manager, or hell a B/C/D store manager, just have to apply to postings. The only real roadblocks is, it's got a lot to do with seniority, and even though I'm at 15 years (11 full time), there are a LOT of guys and gals ahead of me. Besides, I'm a whiz with inventory and a lot of store functions, but hate dealing with people and their issues/complaints/disipline

My brief phone chat with the boss this afternoon though, sounded positive. Lots of things need to be done, and I think in the "new year" (April 1), there will be some wholesale changes. The store is really due for it anyways. The dedication WILL work out in other ways I think.

For example, I don't know the name of it, but he's brought me back some Arizona based microbeer He justs to make sure other staff don't get wind of it.

No problem! I use them when I am leaving and southwest. You can check in 24 hours in advance. If you check in right at the 24 hours you can get in the front of the "cattle call" they call boarding.

I would say you need to get out more and experience life.

Truthfully, my daughter spent more time playing with peoples pets while we were selling and delivering and it would have been simpler and cheaper for me to make a donation direct to the troop vs. the 50 cents per box they get).

I would say you need to get out more and experience life.

I am a man of simple tastes.

(They aren't great @ $3.50 a box, but in theory it helps the girls develop skills and brings in money for the troop. Truthfully, my daughter spent more time playing with peoples pets while we were selling and delivering and it would have been simpler and cheaper for me to make a donation direct to the troop vs. the 50 cents per box they get).

A boy scout troup was selling something outside our grocery store, I gave them money but told them to keep the snacks (i think it was popcorn).

Had a good 12hr drive. Met some old friends in Mobile, AL for dinner on the bay (fried shrimp and oysters), stopped only a few times for fuel/bathroom, made the traditional stop at the FL welcome center, and kids watched the muppet movie about 4 times. I think I know all the songs by now....am I a muppet or a man?
