Keep us posted on baby watch. Enjoy the game. Marlins looked good today. Sanchez pitched a nice game.
On the baby front, everything's still quiet. We're 11 days from the due date though, so it can be at any time now. DW hasn't been sleeping well the last month or so, but she's been feeling ok during the day and is even still working.

Reds didn't look too good... not much offense and Homer looked like he was pitching BP in the first inning.

Not a great crowd for the first weeknight game... this was just before the first inning, but the announced attendance was only about 17,000.:sad2:

They did this about 10 years ago when a few bozos would park their cars on major roads. A guy died because the ambulance he was in couldn't get to the hospital. Sometime Miami is just a Banana Republic.
You know, in most cases, I feel like our society is too sue happy, but in this case, I hope that guy's family sued the pants off of the person who decided to intentionally block the road.

Good Day Men!

I'm back, and I've brought something back with me.

The DISDad's Bervely Challenge!
i cant get it to work. :confused3
Me neither, but I'm sure I can't see it because of the firewall. I assume Randall drank some Beverly though.:lmao:

Good ole' Royal Crown, and plenty of it... :rotfl2:
Canadians drink the south's favorite cola? :confused3 :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Posted on FB that we are lucky we can afford it but I am afraid I will be eating Rahman noodles while she is living the college life. Future vacations will be camping on the front lawn.
Isn't the college student supposed to be the one eating Ramen noodles? :confused3

I'm sure you'll do whatever is best for the both of you.

SH is a Catholic school so there will not be wild parties on campus.
Yeah, because there are never any wild parties at any religious schools.:rolleyes1

Morning all!:surfweb:

If by coaching change, you mean they fired there coach... then yes they did ::yes::

As for rebuilding, they've been rebuilding for about 40 years now...

As long as people keep scrambling for tickets, and making sure every game is sold out, they have no reason to spend money on talent.

The closest private high school (all boys) had tuition of $10,000 last year. For ONE year of high school. :scared1:
We have 3 boys, and a girl. And the tuition at the all girl school down the road was $9,300 last year.

$700 more a year for an all boys school?
Who knew the upkeep on urinals was so expensive?:confused3

They are adorable. I see trouble in your semi distant future! I know, I have 2 girls of my own, 13 and 6.

Morning men! Day 2 of my business trip, and pulled a 14 hr day yesterday. Hope to get a jog in now, and have a light day of only 12 hrs or so. :rotfl2:

Matt

A little late, here are the girls in their easter finest...

Perhaps we need a a new DisDad with daughters thread in our sub forum here to share coping and dating intimidation strategies.

Morning guys. :surfweb:

Hope you feel better soon.

thanks. Took some more portable and muscle relaxer. Feeling better but not high.

Continued prayers and great pics. I too think there are many frivolous law suits, but there are the legitimate ones that are needed.

Threepeat Tuesday ownage.

DW is employed at a University that will compensate tuition for her dependants if she stays employed for 8 years. One year down, 7 to go, just in time for the oldest to go. Which is a good thing.:woohoo:

HOWEVER...

We don't live in a great school district, so parochial grade school and private high schools are what families around here do. (It's what the DW and I both did, and our siblings). The closest private high school (all boys) had tuition of $10,000 last year. For ONE year of high school. :scared1:

.

I have same university benefit, free tuition for one child at a time. Since mine rare only 2 years apart, I'll get 6 years free and have to pay for 2, unless one waits a year or gets scholarship. We have started a college fund as well.

What is the going rate for a babysitter, I'm pretty sure I overpay, I give ours $10 a hour ( I made the price), but she is good with my son, he likes her, she can be trusted, and will drop what she's doing to watch him whenever we need her:thumbsup2

I just don't want to be the couple one day that has to say we couldn't get a babysitter and miss out on something good:confused3

We haven't hired a babysitter in years. One because I am cheap, but the other because I am really overprotective. I think we did $15 an hour for both dds and bought pizza for them.

Agree. SH is a Catholic school so there will not be wild parties on campus. It is close to NYC so all bets are off.

Luckily she will be debt free when she graduates (thank god I only have 1 kid). It is a major short term investment but she is pretty determined to get a Psychology degree. At SH there are many opportunities to intern and get paid for her Masters and Phd doing research. Much better than in Florida. That is probably the biggest reason to go there. Of course if she decides to change to an English Lit. major, I am screwed.

Good for you and your back. Can you send me some meds?.

I'm not sure about psyc degrees in oth states, but here in KY, you need your master's degree, number of hours of clinical supervision, and license. Then, once you meet all those requirements, you then have to be recognized by an insurance company to be billable, unless she is private pay only.

$10 is fair for a good babysitter. We've paid less before for girls who were just starting out or who just came over to occupy the kids while DW was trying to get stuff done around the house.
Got off the phone to Seton Hall a while ago and just woke up from fainting on the floor. Hit the tile hard. The call was to their Financial Aid people to give me an estimate on costs. The Pirate Princess is leaning there.

She got a nice sized scholarship but when they added room, meal plan and fees, HOLY CARP. Let alone incidentals like books and playing expenses. Posted on FB that we are lucky we can afford it but I am afraid I will be eating Rahman noodles while she is living the college life. Future vacations will be camping on the front lawn.

Doing income taxes today I noticed a line on deductions for college expenses. Will take full advantage of it on the next return if she goes there. Maybe I can talk her into going in-state.
It could be worse. I've got three kids and started saving before the first one was born. We've got a plan in Virginia that allows you to pre-pay their tuition at today's prices as long as they go in-state (I think a lot of states have these). So with 12 yrs of college to pay for I think we've got 4 done already. It doesn't cover room and board but it's a nice start.

How embarrassing! They wore the exact same thing!! :lmao: Just kidding. Cute. Nice hats.

That's a shame. Cincy is a great baseball city with a good ball park and a good team. I think they'll win the NL central. Houston set a record last night for the lowest attendance at that park ever.

Yeah... but in all fairness, it is hard to go to a game anymore. By the time we drove 90 miles one way burning $4 gas, paid $10 for parking, paid $50 per ticket by the time they gouge you on ticket fees and taxes, $9 for a beer and $5.75 for 1 stinkin' slice of pizza, it kind of makes you re-think going back anytime soon. :rolleyes1 Even since last year, prices have exploded. I wanted to get a pink Reds onesie for DD, but it was $22 for a single newborn onesie.

In this economy, they really price themselves out of our entertainment dollars. Used to be I wouldn't hesitate to drive down to Cincy several evenings every summer. 2 years ago, I could sit in this same section for about $15 cheaper and while beer and food were high, I felt like it was really a much better value than what I'd find at most other sports venues or an amusement park or something. I really had a bad case of sticker shock last night though.

It feels like all professional sports have gotten this way. I looked up Flyers tickets this year and just about fell over from the sticker shock. It's very rare that I can take my family to a game anymore--mostly I have to pick maybe one game, and just take my boys or something like that. Or get to be good friends with someone whose company owns season tickets. Or just stick with minor league and college sports.

OK, it is official. Sent the first of many checks into SH guarenteeing her place in the upcoming Freshman class. The Pirate Princess is officially a Pirate. Guess it was destined to happen.

I offer you a combination of condolences and congratulations! :rotfl: To her I offer only congratulations.

Ozzie suspended for 5 games.

Is anyone surprised at this? :confused3 The guy always says something stupid! :sad2:

Congrats to the Pirate Princess. :cool1:

Condolences to your bank account. :scared:

That was the plan we did one of those for each dd. So, if they pick my university employer, they get tuition free and use that money for boarding and book costs.

I agree with both of you. The initial problem for me is distance to a pro stadium is a minimum of 2 hours one way. Plus, all the ticket, food, and parking costs. I guess when people ask how can afford Disney, I can tell them we don't have pro season tickets.

Congrats. The pirate princess pirate. If that school thing doesn't work out, she can go n WWE with th nickname triple P. it worked for triple H.

I just didn't think it would happen so soon. On another idiot coach, did any hear the video taped comments from suspended Saints Coach Williams? Telling players to hit people in head to test their concussion and hit a WR in the knee where he had ACL surgery? Really poor example of coaching. Fortunately, he will have his millions to console him.
