I wish that were true... as crap as we are, there hasn't been a ticket available for any Leaf game in about 30 years...

Leafs suck, but still sell out ownage!

Sounds a bit like the Red Sox. Granted they've won it all a couple times in the past 8 years, but even when they suck it's really difficult to get a ticket. And they're all way overpriced.

She can work with a Bachelors for someone but the thing about NY is there are multiple nut houses (she would object to that term) that would actually pay for her Masters and Phd. She works for them doing research/clinical and they foot the bill. Told her she gets only 1 degree from me, the rest is up to her.

Hey, it's better to have something then nothing (like me!) :lmao:

Won't comment on the weather here. Wait a few years and they will be coordinating their own outfits. Then it gets to be scary. Thanks for the congrats...
Help me!! I shudder when they pick their own outfits. I could use some of that good weather, I'm in a major Disney withdrawl right now,

Thanks David. Psych major. No comments on her needing the degree to analyze me. Speaking of boys lurking, on top of everything, dinner with the kid taking to my child to the prom is tomorrow. Going to enjoy that.

You are batting 1.000 lately, aren't ya? :lmao:

thats why iam waiting for the arena in allentown. the phantoms ( the last i hear) are to be playing there. thats only about 25 min. from home. beats driving to philly.

They are AHL right? Never been, although I hear it;s good hockey. Heck, even the Leafs FARM team is decent. I grew up with an appriciation for the juniors, my dad and uncle have always been big fans. Plus it's nice to have a hometown team, even if the fans won't come out to support. Plus you get to see lots of future NHLers.

The key here though, is the Sox HAVE won something lately. Thank goodness there are always the Cubs, or else it'd be more dismal. :lmao:

Get on a plane. I have a couch available. To rub salt into the wound, cool, sunny and a gorgeous day today. May bring a bat to dinner tomorrow.

When I was a kid in Syracuse dad would take us to the Syracuse Chiefs IHL hockey team. One year, they were the most penalized team and we went to a game vs Rochester that was the 2nd most penalized team. If you saw the movie Slapshot, and the scene when the fight broke out before the game, that was the Chiefs. What fun.

I can dress all in black, with sunglasses, and my 6'2 300lbs frame and say "You wants me to take care of him boss?" :lmao:

You are hired. He would probably pee his pants. The kid is like 6'3" but my goal is to make him cry like a little girl. His friends that know me are getting him scared.

They were fun to watch. Games were just like the movie. Including the crowds. They were goons but they were our goons. "Old Time Hockey." Not on that team.

That's why I would love to have a pro team around, I'd find money to go.

at.

I had my master's degree paid for by my employer, so that is a good deal. I could not do my PhD. It took me eight years after my bacherlor's degree to return.

That's a shame. Cincy is a great baseball city with a good ball park and a good team. I think they'll win the NL central. Houston set a record last night for the lowest attendance at that park ever.

My vote for the NL Central is gonna be the Cardinals. Based on nothing but loyalty.

Yeah... but in all fairness, it is hard to go to a game anymore. By the time we drove 90 miles one way burning $4 gas, paid $10 for parking, paid $50 per ticket by the time they gouge you on ticket fees and taxes, $9 for a beer and $5.75 for 1 stinkin' slice of pizza, it kind of makes you re-think going back anytime soon. :rolleyes1 :

In this economy, they really price themselves out of our entertainment dollars. Used to be I wouldn't hesitate to drive down to Cincy several evenings every summer. 2 years ago, I could sit in this same section for about $15 cheaper and while beer and food were high, I felt like it was really a much better value than what I'd find at most other sports venues or an amusement park or something. I really had a bad case of sticker shock last night though.

If it wasn't for lucking into the company tickets by being at work late when someone important found out last minute they couldn't go, I would not have been to a Cardinals game in the past 5 years. And the ONE Blues game I've been to was a pre-season game. Then again, I'm cheap.

OK, it is official. Sent the first of many checks into SH guarenteeing her place in the upcoming Freshman class. The Pirate Princess is officially a Pirate. Guess it was destined to happen.

Congrats to the Pirate Princess. :cool1:

Condolences to your bank account. :scared:

This respose was my favorite, so I'm just going to copy it, rather than trying to be witty myself.

My boss (one of them, i have like 5) left to go see our client in California today. In *Torrance* California. In fact, the building she's going to is (according to google maps) 21.8 miles away from Anaheim. Not the city limits, the IMPORTANT part of Anehiem...

Disneyland!

In January, I was told I would likely be traveling to meet our client this year.
Well, my supervisor is on a plane, and I'm typing on the Disboards, so, like a Cubs fan, all I can say is "maybe next year..."

Yeah, I heard it... we're all in disbelief around here. No, that's wrong, we believe it happened, just can't understand why he thought he had to use that enticement with the caliber of the team he had. He had the best Saints defense since Swilling and Jackson were together; there's no need to do what he did. That's more of a Falcons or Raiders thing. ;) Still, its a shame some of those millions can't be taken from him and put toward player rehab or something.

There is toning wrong with a coach firing up a team. There is nothing wrong with players competing against each other for who can score the most goals, make the most tackles, etc. But, when a coach intentionally cheats to win (Bellicheck) and teaches his players to cheat, there is no excuse for that. And, to do it with video camera running! There is no excuse.

SHE IS GOING TO A CATHOLIC SCHOOL. THERE IS NO PARTYING AND NO DATING. That is my Fantasyland and I am sticking to it. She did say the boys were better looking than at St. John's. Damn.

Hmmmm. You're lucky there are no catholic school girl fantasies.

First of all I am blaming you for not adopting her and getting her on the plan. Be careful drinking the beer I buy you.

Tripple P thanks you. I think.

Hey, I was willing to do it, so don't blame me. I wasn't going to pay for your lawyer to file it.

So instead of spending your retirement swimming through mounds of gold coins Scrooge MacDuck style, you'll be swimming through Ramen Noodles. Ahh the things we do for our kids...

$100+ a month for 7 years for dance class. Then, there are all the shoes, tights, leotards, costumes, etc. i just hope she doesn't go to a dance school in NY.

This is a fantastic idea......can't believe I said that to my nemesis :confused3
But you do have two daughters like I, so the more the merrier when it comes to taking out the boys who will come a lurking!
?

Can't believe you said that, but yes,we better start preparing now. Ar you all going to WDW in October?

I like th Cardinals and the Cubs reference. It really is all about the NL central.
