Monday staycation ownage.

T-Rex is part of the Landry's chain of branded restaurants - the same company that owns Rainforest Cafe, and Yak & Yeti too, among many others across the nation. You can get more info about them and their membership program here. In the past, you couldn't even make RFC reservations online for the DTD location, only the AK location. That has changed and now you can get them online at both locations. But Barry's right - they only release so many tables to the WDW system.

You provided the website. We did the member thing when our dds were into RFC. Now, they are not as much. But, it did work.

Well those of you who visit the prayers thread know that my dad has been diagnosed with oral cancer...and will be having some major surgery on Feb. 29.

This fell right on the target date for DS17 and my trip. Well this upset my dad to no end that we were going to miss out because of him. I of course told him...it's not his fault...he has no control over the situation...and it is what it is...but there is no way we would be in WDW while he was in surgery.

So after some spreadsheet work...several phone calls and long talks with DS17...we are going to shift our trip 3 days forward...to Feb 24- Feb 28. (from Feb 27-Mar2).

Here's what we miss...No 24hr day...No Backstage Magic Tour.
Here's what we get...a chance for 2 EMH nights at the MK...Keys to the Kingdom Tour...1 extra park Day...Saving a whopping $6...My dad's happy(well...at least not upset because he thought he messed our plans up)...my son is happy...and I get quality time with my son...and will be here for the surgery.

Plan:
Feb 24...Drive from TN to WDW...check in 3-4pm...check out POP and goto DTD...hopefully meet FED on the way down.

Feb 25... KTTK Tour...MK EMH til 12am

Feb 26... Epcot

Feb 27... Return to MK for another EMH...also some resort hopping.

Feb 28... Check out....maybe meet Fed on the way back if we didn't catch him on the way down.

Nate, Praying for your Dad and family. Hope things go well.

Glad to see you were able to compromise and still keep everyone happy!

Just made my 180 day ADR's

Got everything we wanted.... except...

T-Rex - all booked up - go figure!

:woohoo:

Good Morning Men!

Scott, I think you were asking about where to get a FD hat. Try calling Walt Disney World Merchandising at 407-363-6200. You can order anything from the parks though them.

Thanks Randall.....it wasn't me....but the next time I'm looking for a FD Hat, I'll be sure to call Merchandising!

Mornin' Everybody!

Hey guys,

I'm back at work today. For those not on FB, my MIL is in critical condition in the hospital with a sepsis infection. She is currently sedated and on a ventilator. She collapsed on Sunday while at the hospital--her lungs and heart stopped, but doctors were able to revive her. They've got her on meds to bring her blood pressure back up. If she can stabilize without meds, they'll probably do surgery to find whatever organ is infected--hard for them to tell right now because her body is in shock and there's so much swelling. The doctor told us last night that her prognosis is 50/50 and she's still deep in the woods. So things are pretty stressful, and obviously my wife is a wreck. I'm ready to leave at a moment's notice if anything happens.

Nate, I'm sorry to hear about your father. We will pray for his healing and the doctors to treat him well.

Andy, hope your son gets rid of the chicken pox quickly!

Christian, I'm glad your son's fever broke. Great to get some good news.

Did I miss anyone? :confused3

So sorry to hear about your MiL. You guys have been through a lot in the past week or so. We're here for you if you need anything. :grouphug:

My parents are 2 hours away, so that's a no go. MIL is in town and an option, but I usually just stay home.

I'd rather not go the parental route, Dad's got enough going on with the chemo, that I prefer to do it myself.

Gee, I'll have to try that next time. All we ever discuss on the drive home from Sarnia is "Tell me again why the hell we went to Sarnia!":lmao:

Well, if I did that I'd be walking home :lmao: Sarnia is a lot more tolerable in the warmer months though.

great news!

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Sorry to hear about your dad - prayers, brother.
Bummer that you'll miss the 24 hour park, but it's still going to be a heck of a bonding trip. :thumbsup2

Welcome back and congrats again on the new little bundle of joy!

T-Rex is not owned by Disney and only releases so many tables to Disney's ressie system. Someone (Steve?) was able to call the restaurant directly and get a reservation without a problem. I'm sure someone here will post more details. But as with any Internet forum, it doesn't matter is I was right, as long as I was first. :rotfl2:

I'm having a bout of deja vu!!!!! :scared1::scared1:

:rotfl::rotfl:

It's usually DW saying that, I could actually move back there but it would be a bit of an adjustment for her after growing up in the major metropolis that is London, Ont.:rotfl:

‘Morning All…

I hope all are well or at least rate somewhere near that level.
I’ll rummage around to see what I’ve missed, but I doubt I’ll catch up appreciable from where I was back on Friday. That was a pile of pages ago.

As usual… I’ve missed much. :sad2:

Back in a bit.

I just wanted to drop in and say hi.:wave2: Life has been very busy lately and no time to even stop in for well over a month.

Got a great taste of being the boss at work while my boss was on a 3 week vacation. I want his job but i want to drop my current responsibities. I realized that I really do a lot of his work. I gotta add we still ranked number one in our profit center so I must have done a pretty good job.

We are one week or hopefully less to inviting our new little one into the world. Cannot wait to start over again with a little baby, but it will be a great blessing and we already have him first trip to the world booked.

I am going to remember all the dads in need of prayers tonight when I say my prayers.

I hope everyone has a great week and I will be sure to drop in when the new little DNSYFRK graces the world.

Congratulations and Best Wishes! Little ones are fun once you get through that first 6 months.

Day 2 of stay-cation. It is raining, but still nice to be home. I think I'll go back to work tomorrow.

Keep it over your way. We like the sun! I am predicting peach bud break on Thursday if the weather holds the way the forecast shows. If we stay warm it would be a great peach year but we could turn cold and lose the crop. Apples I don't care about. I'm going to hit them hard with thinner since I don't have the labor to get them picked.

Hey guys,

I'm back at work today. For those not on FB, my MIL is in critical condition in the hospital with a sepsis infection…

Lord… given recent events that seems mightily unfair.
Thoughts and Prayers are being sent… for all of your family.

Well those of you who visit the prayers thread know that my dad has been diagnosed with oral cancer...and will be having some major surgery on Feb. 29.

I did see this on the Prayer thread and the proper asking has been going on and will continue to do so (I do read that one daily, but don’t always respond… act, yes… just not respond). On the up side, I’m glad you were able to work out and alternative plan for the Father/Son trip.

Just got a call from DW. Took the kid to the Dr. this morning because she saw that he was getting a rash. Turns out it's chicken pox. :headache:

OK, now this nonsense in just getting ridiculous.
I’m going to have to start praying for the whole lot of ya’. I depend on all you fell’as to make me fell better, so you’re all just going to have to start having better things going in your lives. Ya’ Hear me!

Andy… sorry about your little man having to go through the Pox. At least this is minor compared to some of what can befall our youngest children. Being that young, he wont remember it later on, but he’ll still be miserable for a bit here. Do tell me that you either have already had them or were vaccinated. If not, you be mighty careful… pox are not good for adults.

As I seem to have fallen behind:

Mark: Continued prayers for your Inlaws and you guys. Hope they can help out MIL quickly.

Nate: Prayers to your Father. Its good that you'll be able to take DS on your trip. I hope that you will be able to enjoy your time at WDW and know that your dad is in good hands until you return.

Andy: Time to stock up on the calomine lotion. Hopefully this passes quickly.

Chill: Glad to hear the fever broke. Hopefully his RSV gets better quickly.

Hopefully I haven't missed anyone, but if I have, prayers go out to everyone. (who couldn't use an extra prayer every now and then)

It's usually DW saying that, I could actually move back there but it would be a bit of an adjustment for her after growing up in the major metropolis that is London, Ont.:rotfl:

If it were easy for me to transfer out of my district (or region for that matter), we would move out that way, hell even London is better then here in Mississauga. It's WAY too expensive to live here, and way too close to Toronto.

DW has lived in both (lived in London while going to Fanshawe), she prefers Sarnia too. I think it's quick access to the border that does it.
