Albums used to mean something.

Now that there are downloads of singles, the majority of folks will only acquire the “hyped” tunes on the current “charts”. It is sad because those are generally the least imaginative and most formulaic offerings. That has always been true of “hits” and particularly of “Pop Hits”. If you wanted to hear music… you had to acquire the whole album and listen to the other 12 or 15 tracks. That’s were the music was. The ease with which we allow ourselves to be force feed predictable and stunted pop pabulum has had a devastating effect on what was once the “music industry”. Now it’s just an industry. They’re make plenty of money… but what they’re selling is not music.

I don't remember them....don't think they ever really exsisted...kinda like 8-Track tapes.

When I bought my first new car, they asked me if I wanted 8-track or cassette in it. I chose 8-tract, because cassettes were too new!
