Madonna half time show:

2 out of 10
You're being generous.. I just don't see why performers and producers always insult us with lip-synched halftime shows.:confused3 Just re-unite Guns 'n Roses and let that be the last halftime show ever.:thumbsup2
Technically, Marvel Studios can't use Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the X-Men, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, or other characters that other studios currently have the movie rights to (due to those rights being bought before Marvel had an in-house studio). Essentially, the movie universes of those listed above and the Avengers are different.

That's what I was going to say!!

Good Morning!

I hope everyone enjoyed superbowl weekend. I see somebody won a little bit of dough. That's nice!!

I was in a couple of small pools, but did not win. That safety to open up the scoring must have had everyone scrambling to look at their numbers again, and doing math to figure out their chances. People who thought they had horrible numbers suddenly got excited!

I thought the game was pretty good. I missed a lot of it because I was on duty with the kids. I caught some of the halftime show and thought madonna's performance was meh. There didn't seem to be much energy to it.

No, but my advice is to list your strengths and when you list your weaknesses write kryptonite and Lois Lane! :rotfl2:
:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: I'll see if I can modify my list!

I’ve had to do that kind on nonsense in the past (it’s a tactic that gets taught in “effective management seminars”).

No good will come of this.
That's what I'm figuring too. She probably read it in a book somewhere.

Sounds about as effective as a performance review or some other management mumbo jumbo tools.

Just make sure you step up and bring your A game when they bring in the Bobs.
I see you've been missing a lot of work lately.
I wouldn't say I've been missing it, Bob.

Last week my boss sent an email to everyone in my group asking that we take a few minutes and send her a list of our strengths and weaknesses in relation to the programs/hardware we use. We all have individual meetings with her set up this week to go over out lists. I have no idea what she's getting at with this. Has anyone else gone through anything like this?

So close to the first of the year your boss probably read a new managment / leadership book and they are putting the ideas into practice. Everytime I read one of those books I have people do all kinds of crazy things. Some work some don't. But I always do it with the intent of making the team better.:thumbsup2

That is over a very long period of time. When I first set this up I thought that with all of us throwing in just a little we would raise a lot of money very quickly but it has not worked out that way. I have been trying to make it part of my monthly giving and I hope that other dads will consider this also. We are one of the largest groups on the dis we can do much better.

That ends the fundraising protion of tadays postings.:hippie:

I suspect that we can do better. Keep reminding us… That's one type of “nagging” that I’m pretty sure we’ll tolerate. I’ll check the date on my last donation, but I’m sure I need to be adding to the coffers.

This is a good sized group of folks, but our membership numbers are a might deceiving.

Yes, we have 679 members, but…

Only 172 have ever posted more then 10 comments.

At 50 or more total posts over the life of the club the active membership drops to 94 and only 67 folks have posted 100 or more times since our origin in 2007. That last one is really a better gage of our active membership.

I think I need to convince her that "team building" exercises would be much more useful. Nothing encourages productivity like expensive lunches!

Agreed, but what we don't see from those numbers are 39,977 "views" our last thread got vs. it's 4,484 replies. So people are reading along, we just don't know how many.

trying to finalize our vacation plans so we can make the rest of our ADRs. So far, it is shaping up like this:

Sunday: Arrive at WDW (BLT) D: ??
Monday: MK B: Ohana L: QS D: QS
Tuesday: EPCOT B: QS @ resort L: QS D: Via Napoli
Wednesday: leave WDW, board Dream B: resort
Thursday: Cruise
Friday: Cruise
Saturday: Cruise
Sunday: Debark, back to WDW (Beach Club) D: ??
Monday: Free day (to readjust to land) B: ?? L: ?? D: ??
Tuesday: DD's Bibbity Bobbity Boutique Day - morning MK, evening EPCOT B: QS (Main Street Bakery) L: ?? D: Akershus
Wednesday: AK morning/DTD @ night B: Tusker House L: snack D: T-Rex??
Thursday: Hollywood Studios B: Boardwalk Bakery L: ?? D: ??
Friday: MK B: ?? L: ?? D: ??
Saturday: leave for home

So, you may have notice a few ?? in there... one of the problems we're having is that with the new schedule, DW and I don't see each other all that much. I was hoping we'd sit down this weekend and get it ironed out, but no such luck. On our list of places we'd like to work in:

Cape May Cafe character breakfast
Beaches and Cream
Earl of Sandwich
Flying Fish (possibly)
DW and DD want to do Afternoon Tea at GF

on character breakfast days, we probably won't do much for lunch, opting to snack instead, or split QS meal. No plans for dining plan at this point. Might get TIW.

How many of those views are from the 67 of us with over 100 posts just trying to refresh and keep up with everything? :confused3 :lmao:

Ya'll were chatty during the Superbowl huh? popcorn::popcorn::

STOPHER- They were showing the game live online. I hope you had a chance to catch some.

WTG GIANTS!!!! I'll take a boring game and a win anytime! :woohoo:

So in my superbowl pool I won the 3rd quarter and put 5K in my pocket. I would of had the final score too if the Giants converted the 2 point try and had an additional 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS too. Why they tried to run it is beyond me. :confused3:confused3 That would of paid for my Disney trips this year. :rolleyes1:headache::headache:

Nice. Drinks are on Tim...forever!!!

When I was in I/T… this stuff wasn’t a team building exercise. It was a prelude to “Regular FTE Reduction”. In our rather hostile environment the only “effective manager” was one whose staff was contracting (either the enlisted folks disappeared… or the officers did).

Also a good point.

The only caveat I’ll add to this is an observation that I view the main thread far more time a day then I post (and by a twenty to one margin or better). There’s often either a conversation that I just don’t have anything to add to, or it’s moving so fast that I’d be commenting of things from ten pages back (which adds noting of value to the discourse either).

Still you’re right to say we may have far more lurkers then we know of. And that is another good reason to remind the lot of us about GKTW.

I don't recall if you've ever cruised before, but you eat breakfast on the boat, then they kick you off. If you have the early dinner seating, you'll probably be off the ship by 9. Depending on your mode of transportation to/from the ship, you'll be back at WDW in plenty of time to hit Beaches & Cream for lunch.

And I bolded Main Street Bakery only because I've had a heck of a hankering for their egg, ham & cheese croissant sandwich lately.

Probably 90%, but that still leaves a few lurkers out there. :lmao:

That looks like an awesome trip. I'm trying to talk DW into doing a Land/sea Disney vaca in a couple years. Can't wait to hear how it goes. :thumbsup2

Sounds about right! :rotfl::rotfl:

You could say that. :rotfl2:

Here are a couple more stats along that line:

45 with 300 posts or more

32 over 500

22 at 1000 or better :wave2:

Only 9 are over 2000

And just 3 at better then 2800 :rolleyes1

I plan on making the Fantasy Football Entry fee thing again next fall...that helped raise the numbers...though we didn't get 100% participation that I had hoped for...we did get over 50%. :thumbsup2
