Ugh, what a weekend.

I've got a toothache that's gotten the left side of my face swollen. It's not too bad, but it's just annoying-painful enough that it's just putting me off this entire weekend, I just don't feel like doing anything. And of course, since I have state Medicaid, no dentist wants to take us. :sad2: So I deal.

Making things even better, DD has been on a hyperactive stubborn tear all weekend, and because of my toothache, my patience is thin already. I may just go back to bed and let DW deal with it....

It might be cheaper for you to fly over here for a week and get your dental work done here.. (:lmao: but not really, it's amazing how cheap medical services are here, and I wish they were as cheap in the states...last year, when I lived in Anyang, I had a LOT of work done...it came to about $1500, possibly more, over here...in America, it might have been closer to $10,000)

Ugh… There’s nothing good about aching teeth. Sorry to hear that you hurting (and about the health-care rationing that your being forced to deal with).

Here’s a wish for some healing and for you and for DD to find a good Disney film to watch for a while (to get herself calmed down).
:happytv:

Hope you get to feelin’ better… take care.

oh, and joe paterno is dead... again.

I don't think he's coming back this time.

Finally turned on the Telle and that the news flash that greats me.
Very unfortunate. :sad1:

Condolences all around.

and answer the phone without fear of a robocaller haha. I'm so glad it's over with also down here on the coast.

Undeniably true (but it will get bad for everyone come October).

We’ve taken to refusing to answer the phone at all unless we recognize the number. Considering that campaigns are now unending, that may be the way I treat all incoming calls from now on.
:sad2:

:thumbsup2 Nothnig beats a good Star Trek reference.

Hope you get good news tomorrow.

I suspected that y’all would appreciate the description.
:thumbsup2

(and it really is the closest equivalent of the that particular part of any audition  )

I was actually thinking about doing that.

Thanks, we're actually watching "Mars Needs Moms" on Netflix right now...dunno if that qualifies as a "good" Disney movie yet.

Morning gentlemen. We have DD's 4th birthday party today. The entire house is Disney Princess themed. We are on pink overload right now.

I will be going out for more alcohol for the adults, just to be safe. :thumbsup2

Good idea. A bunch of 4YOs running around, you need to be well oiled. Happy birthday to her.

Our audition expedition went well yesterday...

Good luck to Max. Hope he gets it.

Condolences to the Penn. St. community.

Our audition expedition went well yesterday.

:car:

We made it down to Lexington with just enough time left for Max to get warmed up and go in for his audition. Afterward he said that he felt very good about the various prepared requirements, but wasn’t as pleased with the site reading.

(If you’re unfamiliar with that term, it’s where they will set a piece of sheet music down in front of you, give you 30 seconds to look it over and then have you play it cold… they purposely pick a tough piece with odd times, in difficult keys and less common direction words… it’s like the “Kobayashi Maru” test… They don’t expect you to do well… their looking for how well you can dig yourself out of the cesspool they just tossed you in)

Anyway… we’ll see if it was good enough to take a spot in the All-State honors band. Should have an answer by Monday.

Either way it was a nice junket. We all took the drive, then stopped for lunch at Fuddruckers (a post audition tradition… no since in tempting fate).

On the way home I made a detour into our Capital just to drive around a bit before heading home.

(cellphones don’t take very good pictures)

Max is thinking about applying to the music department at USC (our school is older… we get to call it that), so I figured I’d drive him around downtown an let him get a look at what may be home in the near future (pocketbook permitting).

I suspect that counts as a mini-TR… sorry for inflicting on y’all.

good luck max!!!! i went to states as a freshman. i was 6th chair. same with us 35 years ago, had 2 pieces i had to play, had to know all the rudiments including swiss army. :sad2: the pannel asked me two play two rudis. and didnt even ask about one swiss army.:sad2: all that work for nothing. played in the state orch. and never went back out for the rest of high school. :lmao:

We got that movie from the DMC some months back... it's still unopened. At some point I'll watch it. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. You'll have to let us know what you think of it.

A percussion man! I knew you did time in the music departments but now I know you’re forte. Nothing changes about auditions… you have to over prepare, because you never know exactly which requirement that’ll test that day (or in just how foul a mood the judge will be in).

Thanks to everyone for the calls of good luck.
(now it’s back to work on my TRs)

First post from my iPhone.
Gotta get used to these boards on the iPhone, but it definitely beats the blackberry.

Now that post count will go thru the roof.

Mornin' Fellas!

Wish I was waking up somewhere warm with something fun to do all day. I understand that there are a couple of football games on today though.

Really? Who's playing?

I know bacon and burgers are highly celebrated on this thread but personally I put cake in that group as an equal.

It doesn't stop for awhile. My 10 year old still lives pink.

I was reading my Kindle Fire on the train ride home. battery was low when I got off the train, and by the time I went to charge it at home, the battery was dead. Well, I plugged it into the charger and left it for a while, only to return to it and find out it wasn't charging at all. Tried both chargers (my cell phone charger has same adapter) with it, and also tried different outlets, and still not charging.

So, I googled and found this happens every now and then with this device. The fix is to hold down the power button for 30 seconds, release, and then press again.

I did that, and my Kindle Fire now powers up and charges once again. Weird. I was freaking out there a bit, thinking it was shot.

Thanks for the heads up.
I didn't see the game just got the update later on. I had a board meeting all day.

I have been a Kentucky fan since I started watching US college ball and I married another Kentucky fan.

And you have a smart spouse as well.

Well since we were not going to WDW i put my foot down and insisted that we go to Rainforest Cafe for dinner. I had the tribal Salmon and it was awesome. We get home and we start getting dd ready for bed and she projectile vomits all over margie and the kitchen floor. No hint that she even was feeling bad. She has a fever but after she threw up she started running around again. :confused3 She never complains when she is sick, what a trooper.

Let me know if I ever say anything smart. It will be a first!:lmao:

next time, go with the kegerator.

Stop the pre game stuff and lets go. Sent Crash to Publix for snacks so should be set soon. Tortillas and Queso dip. Yum.

Not a fan of any of the teams playing so I guess it comes down to who I hate less. Ravens, please beat that New England team and I guess San Fran over the Giants.

I completely agree about the iPhone being SO much easier that the BB. Are you just using the safari browser to view the boards?
