Wow, these boards are a mess--time warp, 10 minutes to post

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

When I hit the 180 day mark, I think my best bet is to call out sick or go in late that day, since I'm not staying onsite I'm pretty sure I have to call all the ADR's in, and since some of them are not on the Dinning plan like Schuala's I think I have to make a ADR with them directly:confused3

And then of course I have to make a ressie for our haircut:goodvibes

You can still make your adr's online if you log in to Disney website. You just have to make sure you keep all your confirmations.. Good idea to call out though..

Also, it seems easier to get adr's due to the new policy. They want A credit card to hold the popular restaurants.

'Morning all...

Or they’re underfunded like me and can’t consider buying enough points (even on the resale market) to go every year.

Are y’all trying to talk me into DVC or out of DVC? ;)

For me, neither. I do try to let people know about resale, smaller contracts, and how to avoid the huge initial buy in. However, it also comes with after price of yearly dues and you still have to buy your tickets.

We only do studio stays and have only been members for 4 years. I haven't seen the "savings" like Dave references. And, since we have smaller amount of points, we won't do the 1 BR stays, so I won't get the laundry in room. But, what I can say of DVC thus far is that I have been able to stay at BLT for the same price or less at a value resort. That alone is worth it to me. That initial cost will offset itself eventually, which varies for folks depending on the amount purchased and if financing was involved.

But, these were again what works for my family. Please take it all in consideration and decide what works best for you.

The Pirate Princess's 18th Birthday was today. Went to Samurai for dinner and had ice cream cake at home. A couple of pics.

Happy Birthday to your princess! :thumbsup2

Streaky? Interesting. Looks like some thick slices! popcorn::

BTW, do you know how I can post smaller pictures from Photobucket?
I believe you have to resize them in photobucket. Make a duplicate the change the settings. Although your pic fits my screen perfectly! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Happy Birthday!!!

It is DW's birthday today as well.... she is ummmm, well, let's just say older then 18. :rotfl2:

I would certainly hope so. :eek: :lmao::lmao:

My weekend started an hour early, and it lasts until next Thursday due to the Lunar New Year happening on Monday. :woohoo:

As for weekend plans, the wife has to work on Saturday and Tuesday, and, apparently, there's no water at MIL's place, due to her living pretty much in the mountains, so we won't be going there. We're just going to relax, maybe take a small road trip to Busan or Daegu or wherever. I also plan on doing some running (hopefully starting tomorrow, if it's not raining).

Happy belated bday to the PP CJ. We've decided to keep our DD in a cold place and limit her exposure to sunlight in an effort to slow down the growth process.

2.5 Kg of bacon isn't that like 5 pounds of bacon. That's a serious bacon purchase

CJ, you posted while I was finding this picture, so I added it for you. :rotfl:

I have an account set up for pictures that I am going to post online. Its configured to autoresize everything I upload to that account. To get to the sceen to do this click on your username then select "account settings" then click on "album settings" then click on "view upload options"

DW emailed me frantically last night. I think she found someones math online and basically in it if we were to buy 225 SSR points from disney now including the initial outlay we'd wind up paying Disney 109K over the next 42 years. I had to explain that a) we aren't buying from Disney so our initial upfront is going to be lower by 50% B) we are buying substantially less than 225 points so our annual dues are going to be lower than projected c) that doesn't factor in inflation an other rates so it's not 109K in todays dollars it's actually less. I think I've managed to talk her off the ledge, but you're right you do have to factor in lots of things outside of the initial fee.

Oh… and I like the new avatar.
We’ll have to see over time just how well it suites you.
That is awesome...

Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper, now, about to become the Masters champion.

I think I'm talked out of it. I've been considering doing exactly what Stopher said was unfathomable... :headache: :rolleyes1 :lmao: :rotfl2:

I mean, I'd love to go every year... but I'd also like to have about 2 months of vacation to use every year, and that just ain't happening. I've thought about doing the "enough points to borrow and bank to go every 3 years" thing and then just add on down the road.

Well now - everyone's situation is different, I understand it - I just personally believe it's unfathomable to not go every year. But that's just me. DW and I were having the conversation yet again last night about which dates we will be going this year - and next. She actually said something previously unfathomable... thanks to a very busy household of 2 teenagers and their schedules now... she said the words ... summertime and July. :scared1: Now she did follow those words up with "no parks", "pool", "resort time", and lots of repetitions of the words "air conditioning" - but wow. This is the same woman who swore up and down for years and years that she does not do Florida in the summer months. I can work with that. I don't care for Florida in July either - but she wants a family trip, so I ran with it and saw availability and am ready to book as soon as we talk it through again tonight.

She also said "get me out of the snow" in that conversation, so we're looking at a short getaway in March for our anniversary, and next year in February...

Clearly not...besides the obvious (:lmao:) you see no bad guys being dragged out of windows:confused3

Canadians...sheesh, eh?;):lmao::lmao::lmao:

So... how hard IS it to pull a bad guy out of a window? popcorn:: Oh! and have you ever pulled a bad GIRL out of a window? popcorn::popcorn::

I might lose my membership, but I don't need to go to a Disney Park every year. I can usually only afford one vacation a year, and there are lots of places I want to see. So I'm happy to try and get back to Disney once every few years. For us, that helps keep the magic and novelty of the parks alive.

Wow... FL in July... :eek: Better than August! :lmao: Maybe she was also trying to talk herself into it with all those sweet words...
