It's the commute. I'm 3.5 hours away from Cincinnati. How much further are you? I could always stay Big Bone Lick KY State park (yeah folks - that's the real name). We used to do that when we would go to a Reds game.

I'm about a 4 hour drive from Cincy. 7.5 hours of driving will make a man pretty thirsty!

I'm finding it hard to believe there are no dads heading to the World in April this year! I would normally be one of them, but we currently have no plans to visit this year. Still waiting for that winning lottery ticket.....

Actually Don - my vacation starts on March 31st but we'll be there till April 7th. So technically our vacation is mostly in April.

Let's see how to put this, keep in mind, I'm kinda in shock.

Dad called me at work today. Thought I had been away for the weekend until yesterday, no biggie. He wanted me over as soon as possible, mom wanted to talk to me....



Okay, I was in a bit of a panic, thinking something was wrong, this just sounded ominious. I was assured that everyone was fine, but I was to be told in person.

Okay.... weird.

I decided to head over there tonight, I hate drama like this, wanted to get it over with. I texted my brother trying to figure this out, he said he talked to her yesterday, it was nothing bad, that's it.

Ooookay....

So we go over and mom pulls me into the spare room, and closes the door and tells me.

I've got an older half-brother no, not one locked up in the attic, though that'd be REALLY cool.... Seems that, without a lot of details, between my mom's divorce from her first husband, and marrying dad, she had a son whom she had to give up to adoption. As it turns out, Friday he tracked her down after 42 years. So at last the trurh was bared.

Well, I am in a wee bit of shock here, to a degree. Part of me is....meh, part of me is ***, another part hungry for burgers I was catching up on posts tonight. Not really sure what the end result of all this is going to be either. This is going to be interesting...

wow. it could of been alot worse news. hope everything works out ok. thats a tuff one.

Do you have to join his swim club to be allowed on his boat?

i hear you can get soaked launching the boat. once in the water your fine. i myself would never get into a boat with fed, you know someone would be going over board and it wont be him.

Some people just dumbfound me... our manager is on vacation for 2 weeks, so I'm kind of in charge. I was just pulled aside by one of our employees. The past week or so, he has been running his mouth starting rumors about people with a few truck drivers. Really no ill intent about it and everyone knows he was just joking. Well, the jokes got around so somebody he started a rumor about told a truck driver to ask him a certain question. This happened and he came to me complaining that he doesn't want to hear that kind of abuse and it really hurts his feelings...

I'm sorry but it is no worse than what you said about anybody else. If you can make a joke, you'd best be able to take one. Our manager drives me nuts sometimes, but I don't envy the kindergarten like behavior he has to deal with around here sometimes.

I'm pretty sure just about everyone who has ever been a manager has had to deal with an issue that makes them say, "Seriously? What are we, in 4th grade?"

let me give you some advise, sell all your tools and return the cabnets in the garage and bingo!!!! wdw here you come!!! solves alot of problems.
1... neat garage, no clutter
2... no more home projects. more time for the dis.
3... got your vacation paid for!!
the more tools you have, people think you know how to use them and than the relathiefs relatives) come out of the wood work wanted free projects done. now your to tired to go to wdw.

The sad thing is, the guy who came whining to me about somebody calling him a name has worked here longer than I've been alive.
