DIS Dads DDC XV - We put the "FUN" in dysfunctional! Christopher's thread...

Dads of the DIS talk about life, bacon, Disney, bacon, kids, bacon, cars, bacon, family life, and lots of other fun stuff! And beer. And bacon.

I have my "Site Inspection" scheduled for the DL Hotel while I'm there too. Kinda funny going through that process for DL or WDW - I know them so well, but hey, it helps with the overall training and such, and of course, keeps these business trips legit. It's been fun watching the hotel renovations over the past 3 years - can't wait to see it fully finished.

Congrats Ryan..

Have a good night all, going to check out Disney Universe then call it a night.

I also have a face to face interview next week with a local company - the very first face to face one. I can't wait to hear what they say, and then politely say no. DW tells me not to be so rash - at least give the pretense that I'm pondering what they have to say. So I'll probably do that. Maybe.

But at the same time, I don't want to go back to that life. I've tasted working for myself, and I like it. A lot.

As long as you're able to make money at it, then that's a great thing. I do applaud you and all the other DISdads who own their own business. I may have been capable of that years ago, but now, I'm not sure.

Congrats on the close Ryan!:thumbsup2

Agreed. Congrats on the closure. Now, let's return to what we refer to as normal. Have a good evening everyone.

So today I had another meeting regarding phase II of our grand, do it yourself, don't go back to corporate America plan. Phase II is coming right along. :) Phase I is shaping up nicely as well. Soon I can announce phase II as well.

I'm currently working on my next stage of psuedo self employment. I'll be happy when I can talk about it to. I hope that your phase 2 goes well. One of the things guys I've done startups with all agree on is that when its your own deal everything is a little bit more personal and meaningful. It's great when you have victories, because they are YOUR victories, it's less good when there are losses.

Congrats on the close Ryan!:thumbsup2
Well that shocked me. and I was just going to make a goldfish joke.

I am so bummed. I was reading earlier that my favorite, World of Color, will be down for scheduled maintenance while I'm at DLR in a couple of weeks. The first scheduled maintenance since it premiered. Ugh. It would have to be while I'm there.

That's a bummer.

Man I was getting ready to post in the other thread and Rayn closed it...sheesh..I will have to stop reading so much of the other posts now!!

I cant believe that I am so late coming to our new home!!

There will be another opportunity to close the main thread:)

Ok, here's a non-Disney related photo to share - I don't know why - just because I felt like it. But my pal Tim will appreciate it. I know that the Duck will as well.
Beautiful picture!!!!!!

BEVERLY! That stinks!

Besides Pearl Harbor, and some parasailing, and snorkeling... what is another "must-do" that YOU would recommend when I go to Hawaii? I will only be on Oahu, so island hopping and volcanoes on the big island are out. I have a list myself - but I'm interested in your opinions (at least those of you who have been to Oahu before). I've only stayed in a hotel on Oahu - as each time I've been to HI it's just been a stop over before going to Maui, Kauai or Molokai.

Anything you're interested in my capturing pics of for you? Not that I'm promising of course...

One thing we will be doing is something you already ruled out, The Big Island for volcano watching and scuba diving.

DD already has a couple of spa treatments picked out and will probably do the surfing lessons thing.

Me, I am not sure. Pearl is a must. I am also looking for some "local" places to eat. I am counting on you to be the trailblazer for me.

First off, congrats everyone for closing the last thread. Thanks Don for the new one!

DW and DD made chocolate chip cookies tonight. YUMMY. It so cute to watch them working together. DD was so excited to be able to scoop the dough onto the trays all by herself.

My wife made chocolate chip cookies tonight too! Lucky us :)

That sucks, that is definitely one attraction that is a must see when I get back to DL. One day...

Spoke to step-sister about her joining us and we redid our reservations for 6. Was able to keep everything pretty much the same. For those that are interested...

M - MK day - Ohana's (d)
T - Epcot - Les Chefs de France (l) Captain's Grill (d)
W - HS - Hollywood Brown Derby / Fantasmic Pkg (d)
T - MK / Epcot(?) - Crystal Palance (l), Tokyo Dining (d)
F - AK - Tusker (l)

We are staying in a 1BR at VWL so we'll be doing most breakfast's in the room, but will probably do some quick serve or another table service, we'll see. Comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Great job!

Wow, I didn't realize that I'd posted the most in 5 different threads. Huh.

Ok - so one more late night, non-Disney photo before I head off to bed.

So far I've been to the castles in Buena Park, Kissimmee & Schaumburg.
