There's a psychological effect here...generally, bad guys can't stand it and just *have* to know what you know....of course, that's part of the gig, and part of the art--getting through to them and crushing them without them shutting down. It's a fascinating game, you'd be shocked if you heard some of the things I've heard in the box...google "Inside the mind of a Homicide Detective", Homicide Life on the Street

Loved this TV show (Homicide Life on the Street)

hey Morning guys finally some green lights. Now I wont have to sit and talk to myself

I am over on other site talking to myself.trying to stir up more dads for the DDC trip in Jan

I'm here! Although bouncing back and forth between my work window on my computer and the boards.

Bacon, pork rolls, beer and dole whips in our room, right? (for a small fee)

I just found out that I may be at WDW for the DDC. I'd be with my cousin to do the half-marathon. Has an agenda been set? Does Aaron know room rates yet? We may just rent DVC points from family members.

I hate when work gets in the way !!!

I posted over on the "place that should not be mentioned" that I had planned on doing OOP for meals using gift cards I pick up between now and then.

"I'm too excited to sleep!" Two more days and I can get my first Dolewhip! :cool1:

Have a great time.

So, on an actual Disney idea for the day, listening to all this D-Cot is making me home sick (my real home in Disney World). A Value Resort for August 1 thru 4 with a 4 day ticket is $1415. That would be a 4-day ticket. I could drive all night the first night, and the last one, close down the parks and grab a holiday inn with some priority points and drive back Sunday. School starts for us that Wednesday (Aug 8). Ridiculous.

That is a short trip, but it would be a fun way to end the summer. I guess I'll sleep on it. Good night all.

GO, GO, GO, GO, GO. that is if you can swing it

What Carl said.

Crazy day today. Picking up a rental at 10:00 (oops missed that deadline). I'll be there about noon. One of the A/C units is out so the tech is coming by around 1-2. Then I have to pick up SIL at six. Between then, finishing picking up crap around the house.

Later.

I had a guy slide spikes knee high at third trying to take me out. Unfortunatley for him, he had shorts on and slid about three feet too short. :lmao:

I wear shorts when I play, so I try not to slide feet first, always shreds my leg.

I kneed a guy in the head a couple of years ago... I'd say I wasn't proud of it, but I kind of am. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

It was a team that was notorious for playing dirty, talking trash, arguing with the umps... and this was the semifinals in the tournament. The ump actually had to call the police to remove their manager after the game that day and they were banned from playing at the parks department in the future.

Anyway, I was playing short and we had a 3 or 4 run lead. There was a runner on first and a grounder was hit to second. I got the ball at 2B and there wasn't even a close play there, but the guy running from first was coming straight at me, standing tall with his hands in the air. I'm about 6'2", and he was kind of short, so I jumped to throw over the top of him, but he kept running through the base anyway and undercut me when I jumped. I came down on top of him with my knee in his ear. I'd like to say it didn't feel good when I hopped back up and he was rolling around in pain, but when I realized he was trying to hurt me when he undercut me, it felt kind of good.:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

And yes, we got the double play.

Never hit a guy with the ball intentionally, but I've nailed a few guys running the bases. a couple of them in the back of the head. I also took out a couple of my own players. Once, i took out our pitcher who covered home on a flyball to center. He took his eye off the ball and my throw hit him in the forehead. I also hit our first baseman in the leg on a short hop and he had a black and blue mark there that lasted over a year. :scared1:

I also hit a young woman in the stands (one of the other team's fans). Play at third, and my throw from the outfield sailed... over the dugout, and into the bleachers.

The only people who seem to be safe from me are the umpires.

Fortunately for everyone I play with, I tore my rotator about 4 years ago. The arm has never been the same.

OK.... who tricked everyone into thinking it's my birthday? :lmao:

Not going to point any fingers... but his initials are R.A.N.D.A.L.L.

Well, today is my ADR day. I've been trying online since 6 am too book them. I have my resort confirmations and reservations tied into my online account, but when I try to book an ADR for one of the "+10" days, here is the message I get...

We are only doing a few table service meals, but have QSDP for this trip. Is this a new thing that they've implemented now that they require a CC to hold some ADRs??? :confused3 Kind of a pain in the beverly, because I can't call until my lunch break, so hopefully I won't be put on hold for very long.

hope you were able to call and get everything you wanted

Unexpected Disney surprises this weekend. First my cousin calls me and says she wants to take me up on my offer to run a Disney race with her. I never thought she'd go for it, but we're seriously thinking of meeting up for a few days and running the half marathon in January. She's really cool and I don't know if I'll get another chance to be at WDW with her. And no kids! Just me and one of my favorite cousins running around the parks for a few days!

Then yesterday DW says we should go to Florida to visit my parents during Christmas break. I was totally in for that, then as a kicker she says we should probably do a park for a day and check out the new fantasyland. Didn't see that coming. We don't get down there often enough (yet:rolleyes1) for an Annual Pass. So I'm considering a 10-day non-exp pass. I wish I had thought of this a week ago to avoid the price increase, but oh well. Not sure how to go about doing the math to see if I should get the 10-day pass, but I know a one-day pass for my family isn't very efficient.

By the way, any runners out there know how to get the Disney Visa discount for Run Disney events? Barry? I thought you posted about that a long time ago?

very nice surprises!! envious!

:mic: For my 4k post I would like to say a few important words:

Donald

Disney

All of these things are important and I appreciate you sharing them with me :thumbsup2

Congrats on 4K!!

First impressions of D-cot.

I like that I can choose a track and get it right from the beginning as opposed to joining in the middle with dtuneslive. It's also neat to see what the other dads are listening to. But why do random people want to be my "pal"? Especially random girls? I got married so I wouldn't have to be pals with random girls.

But I can't find how to play The Haunted Mansion from start to finish. If I can't hear the opening bells from HM, that's a deal-breaker.

gonna have to check this out. for the music, of course... :rolleyes1

As long as we're trading war stories...

I've hit my coach's car a few times. Playing short, overthrew first, ball skipped through another field and hit the BMW. Another time after giving up a homer I drilled the next guy with a fastball right in the thigh. It was a complete accident, but given the circumstances it didn't look too good. Also pitching one day the curve just wasn't there. So every curve I tried to throw was sailing up and in to the righties. They started getting ticked and were mumbling not-so-nice things. The ump gave me a warning for my own protection. My coach came out and said loud enough for everyone to hear, "C'mon, he couldn't break a pane of glass!" Thanks for the support coach! (I was 16 and could barely hit 70 mph at that age.)
