Could use some prayers this am. DW having another surgery today. If doesn't fix things, there's a very large surgery in the future.

Non eventful day. I was able to get in 20 minutes of exercise, slightly altering some exercises and replacing them with of my back exercises from PT. It was a little stiff after dinner, so I hope I didn't overdo it. Then, the skies opened up and it rained hard. Done to a slight drizzle now. Good news with the rain- it washed my car today.

Glad you are feeling better Norm. The older you get the more you just appreciate the days when something doesn't hurt.

Today kinda sucked, had to drive my son on a 5hr round trip to the dentist to get a infected tooth pulled, then I went to the Dr since my ear was bothering me, found out that I have a ear infection, we did however talk about steak houses since I'm one of the few patients that he doesn't have to tell that they should stay away from them, he has been to Schula's and said it was good, even had what I'm going to order

Sorry to hear that and hope your son and you improve. That is like the trip we have to an acceptable dentist from here.

Yeah, it was around a month since I hurt it. It has never taken this long to recover before.

Calling it a night. Tomorrow is the last day of strawberry picking for me. The heat really hurt them.

Wednesday I'll be out in the hills doing ginseng population surveys. Beats being in the office as long as we don't get shot. There are a lot of growers of "non-traditional" crops where we are headed.

Thanks I think we will both live, son got the laughing gas, cost a extra $50 but well worth it on the way home he said did we go to the dentist or did I dream it, I was willing to pay another $50 for some for myself

My ear only hurts if pressure is put on it like blowing nose or burping, luckily I caught it early and with the meds should be gone in a day or two

Sorry; you put a few drops in your ear. You can also eat a glove of garlic to go along with it (I sometimes will head a tablespoon of minced garlic)

And here I thought going onto the night shift would be good this week.

Every little thing that could go wrong...did. Boss took some of my staff for the day shif, and "forgot" to call in the replacement he penciled in. A customer fell in the store, had to take care of that.

The topper was though, one of the staff we've had issues with, even to the point we came up with a plan to deal with him when it came up, completely blindsided me, by having a customer (we know they are friends) completely take me to task how we overwork him. I was speechless. Humiliated.

This guy does nothing but ONE job in the store, then complains he has to do it. Then has a customer tear a strip out of me, and plans to take it further up.

I can deal with co-workers, no probs, but I CANNOT WIN AGAINST CUSTOMERS. No way, I am getting railroaded.

Pretty much sat in the office the rest of the night. I Sent emails to the boss (not there the rest of the week) and the "bigger boss" explaning myself. I am done though. I have no spirit left to fight this beverly.

Wow sounds like a GREAT night! I don't know what type if store you work in but if it's not union, it sounds like that guy needs to find another job. I don't know how many times I have heard and guiltily said "if you can't handle the work load, it's time to find another job" the job is what it is and if he doesn't like it.. Wow sounds like a GREAT night! I don't know what type if store you work in but if it's not union, it sounds like that guy needs to find another job. I don't know how many times I have heard and guiltily said "if you can't handle the work load, it's time to find another job" the job is what it is and if he doesn't like it.. Eh someone else will take his place in 5 minutes. Hang in there and breath! Is he really worth a bad nights sleep? I think not!

Alas, we are union, or else he'd have been canned YEARS ago. He is unliked by everyone in the store, but he and I butt heads more often because I'm the only one with backbone to stand up to it, aside the managers, whom he rarely ever works with. I could not fight back last night, because I could not prove they planned it, they both speak polish I think, and can't listen in on their conversation. Feels like a no-win situation, but the only real issue I have is that this will fester for the next week or so till the boss is back from his seminar, instead of dealt with immediately, unless the bigger boss stops by, but he's got other stuff on his plate too, and is a day-only guy, so not likely.

Part of the anger now more is that I'm targeted because everyone else just shakes their head, complains, but lets him get away with things, because no one wants to rock the boat. I have had his pay docked for leaving early and reprimanded him, and have reported the (LOT) of customer complaints against him. It's embarassing he is still employed.
