We argued a lot about it in the beginning, but I realized that it wasn't worth it. While we don't meet my savings goal, we do meet my investing goal. That is the compromise.

I gave up arguing with DW about finances a long time ago. I now do forced savings (401k and automatic debit to savings accounts) and manage the investments myself. She manages the checking account. Works out best that way...

If you have one of the rubbery Otter Box cases for your I-phone, don't let the kids get NEAR it with Silly Putty. :headache::headache: I'm glad I live in a dry county.

I figure, God willing and the creek don't rise too quick, I should be around until the kids of legal age. After that if DW wants to spend her inheritance now that is her concern. :confused3

I have th 401K and savings automatic. Problem is I have to transfer her savings to checking to pay the monthly bills. She can't get to the 401K, but she knows that I can cover bills with her savings. I do a yearly budget and then a monthly accounting. So, we get to discuss it once a month, and I show her where the money is going, but I don't she think cares.

Hmmm... Depending on the accessibility of wine at the first communion practice, I'll guess 11:18... :rotfl:

Awful Boston-Atlanta game tonight (though glad the C's won); This Chicago-Phi game is entertaining though! :thumbsup2

I say it's a trick question...

I am guessing you will already be drunk.

Any guesses on when he'll be sober?

I think this is the first time I read someone was happy to live in a dry county. I do know when I went to Kentucky lake, I went to the gas station, was in there for 2 minutes, went to the counter and said, "Where's the beer."

that's when i heard the 2 worst words a guy can hear when on Vacation.

"Dry County"

Marlins Padres game is pretty weird. Marlins take a 5-0 lead and in the 3rd, the Padres score 6 runs. Top of the 4th, Reyes scores on a balk to tie it up.

CJ, shouldn't you be getting some sleep tonight? You're leaving early, aren't you?

Hey, anyone watched Star Wars tonight? Naw, me neither.
Regardless, May the Fourth be with you all.

The biggest drawback of being a single dad with a teenage daughter is you sometimes have to go shopping with her. I bought 4 pairs of shorts, underwear and socks. Took a total of 10 minutes.

She had to buy shoes for the prom. Was immediately sidetracked by the dress racks because she needs a dress for graduation and one for her IB Gala. An hour later and one dress bought it was over to the shoe section. Another half an hour she picks a pair. But we needed to go to Macy's first. Another 45 minutes later we were back at JCP for the original pair. I HATE SHOPPING but did my best to be patient. When we headed to the car she gave me a kiss on the cheek and thanked me. Made it worth it. Lousy kid.

Can't wait until she needs clothes for college.

I am not looking forward to this.

Getting ready for the weekend. Work tomorrow. Taking the family to Citifield on sunday to see the Mets vs. Diamondbacks.

DW told me earlier that she found a recipe for dessert for our next Disney theme night, which is a week from tomorrow. The movie is Lilo and Stitch and the dessert will be... Dole Whip Cupcakes!

Good night everyone!

Been having intermitent service with my internet provider.

Had a tech come out last weekend, who was useless.

Then yesterday, the internet was bouncing like a rubber ball... and I went to call my provider, and the phone was just as bad (same provider)...
I went through something similar to this. The problem went on for over a month till this one tech was able to figure out the problem. The line coming from the pole to the house was getting condensation inside it reeking havoc with my connection. I spent over 30 hours on the phone with AT&T, and had 3 different techs come out to the house. :headache:

That should go quickly... short plaid skirts! :stir:
