Barry, any thoughts on when / where to meet in August?
Wednesday, August 22nd. 2:14pm. Near the back of the China pavilion, there is a door guarded by two lion statues. Be standing next to the lion with his foot on the globe. Have the money ready. You will be given further instructions then. Do not make eye contact.
Or, you know, whatever works for you.

Sorry, honey, the flights back are just too expensive. We're going to have to stay down here!![]()
Nemesis - Are you still available for a meet up at Huber's this month?
Great answer, though. My church is doing an 11-week study on marriage and reading a companion book. At one point in discussing the role of the husband, the author defines true manhood as "accepting responsibility"...both for your actions and those under your care. I thought that was really good.
Man am I bored. Counting down the time until the shuttle picks me up tomorrow (T minus 15 hours). Will never fly to Orlando again. If I didn't pay for a plane ticket I would be in the car right now and on the phone to Disney getting a room for tonight. Did RSVP to the WDW Today Cinco meet at Cava tomorrow. Could get ugly.
.
Go get em killer. Before soccer games I played for the kid the "Make a man out of you" from Mulan.
.
hey guys,
Getting ready to head back to the Outer Banks from Northern VA, and I pass by the lobby to see... You guessed it, its raining sideways!!! Beautiful!! Nothing like a 4 hour drive in the pouring rain! GRRR
Matt
I knew those lines were from some classic author, but didn't realize they were a direct quote. I am often amazed at how closely The Simpsons stay to most of their source material (their Raven segment was incredible). I'd say that it's a much maligned and misunderstood animated comedy, but since it's been going strong for 20+ years, I can't make that case.
No idea why I posted this.. just impressed by Matt Groening again, I guess.
the last thing I want to do is play online for real money. I am playing on Pokerist, mostly via the free app on my phone. I am kind of hoping my neighbor invites me to one of his poker nights again though, now that I know what I'm doing.
Interesting! The only people I've ever met that live on the Peninsula work for NASA.![]()
I have it on good authority (a NASA retiree) than NOBODY works for NASA; they're just employed thereI know a lot of people that work for NASA and drive by it nearly everyday.
Was actually trying to attribute the quote to both You and Grampa, but I can see how it could be taken that way. Sorry for the implicationRudyard Kipling was the original author. Not sure how I like being equated with Grampa Simpson.
I actually preferred MG's Life in Hell work pre-Simpsons. Yeah, I'm old.
let me know what you guys come up with as I stated before I am not going to Disney (at this moment) but staying right across the street from it. So A meet up may work out for me also( If I am invited). Still lokking to see if any dads are golfing that week.
Excellent post padding self policing.

The biggest drawback of being a single dad with a teenage daughter is you sometimes have to go shopping with her. I bought 4 pairs of shorts, underwear and socks. Took a total of 10 minutes.
She had to buy shoes for the prom. Was immediately sidetracked by the dress racks because she needs a dress for graduation and one for her IB Gala. An hour later and one dress bought it was over to the shoe section. Another half an hour she picks a pair. But we needed to go to Macy's first. Another 45 minutes later we were back at JCP for the original pair. I HATE SHOPPING but did my best to be patient. When we headed to the car she gave me a kiss on the cheek and thanked me. Made it worth it. Lousy kid.
Can't wait until she needs clothes for college.

Drop her off... tell her to choose what she wants, and you will meet her back in 3 hours (or when she calls you)... you sweep in with the credit card, approve the purchase. Done in 4 minutes!
I think Brian has it figured out. I try to tell them about a household budget, but none of mine listen to me.
That's why you show up at the end, instead of handing them the credit card. Hence the "approve the purchase" part...
DW has a set budget amount. She always goes over it. I give her a lower amount. She goes over. We play this game. I lose.
Sounds like more of a personal problem...
I give Princess Crash the benefit of the doubt wrt responsibility.

That was funny. And so very true for many of us. At least you know you are going to lose and accept it.
We argued a lot about it in the beginning, but I realized that it wasn't worth it. While we don't meet my savings goal, we do meet my investing goal. That is the compromise.
