I'll be at Kings Dominion on May 11th for a school field trip.

I'll check about heading up to BG on the 21st or 22nd, we have passes and I'd guess my kids will be up for it. Sad to say, but while I'm in Williamsburg nearly every weekend, I've never been to the Farmer's Market there (do you happen to know if it's the one in an area called New Town?)

I'm not sure what it is called but if you are in Historic Williamsburg it is on the block with all the little shops:woohoo:, My wife likes it since it's like double shopping:( found out they have it every Sat morning from April till Oct

Ahhh, that's not the one I was thinking about, but that would be a good place for one. A quick food tip while in Colonial Williamsburg...behind that block you are talking about...towards the left-hand side if you are facing away from William and Mary is a shop called the cheese shop, !they make sandwiches on their own bread. The tip is that you can buy the "ends" of the bread...it's the part they cut off to make their sandwiches, but is still freshly made bread. It's cheap and then you can use that to make your own sandwiches!

Sheesh... took my whole lunchtime to catch up. That's OK, I guess; it took 2 days to catch up with last week's work:surfweb:
Good Day to all the other Dads out there....Oh look.. more work items.

Then it hits me - I'm doing his work while he's actually in Disney World, enjoying the vacation that I helped him plan. :furious:
Well, next time plan him a lousy trip

She will be going to a Catholic school. There are no parties there. Or so it is imagined in my mind.
Never lose that imagination, CJ; parlay it into an Imagineer job or something ;)

So is this when we start praying for big crowds, closed rides and bad weather???
Closed rides, Check. Bad Weather, well, it was getting on the hot side of warm toward the end of last week. Big Crowds, can't help you, unless the Dance Team crowd is still there.

Hmmm.. I probably need to adjust my sig, too. I'll check with this post.
Nope.. Sig's OK (sort of... might add my name)

Thanks for the tip:thumbsup2, there is a cheese shop on the block that has the farmers market, it's got to be the same place:confused3

Was planning on making the meet, but I got distracted, and well, its too late now.

:thumbsup2

Sitting here at work, pulling double duty because a co-worker is out on vacation. Listening to the Adventureland background music to pass the time. Then it hits me - I'm doing his work while he's actually in Disney World, enjoying the vacation that I helped him plan. :furious:

Yeah, I never understood the whole extra work assignments for no extra pay.

Dude, I am Catholic, went to Catholic grade school, and went to most prestigious Catholic High School in KY. (Google St. Xavier High School, Louisville, KY). You know how much drugs and alcohol there were at that school when I was there 20 years ago? I will tell you lots of stories. I did those AP classes in HS as well. Catholics know how to party.

Actually… it wasn’t really the politicians per say that started that fight. This is an instance where each school system was doing its own thing and some systems had shifted their calendars around to better align with the actual calendar. A number of the tourism based businesses in the coast, didn’t like it so they figured that since they had paid good money for the reps in Columbia, that those reps owed them a favor. Being as they statehouse serves the money before it serves the people, they simple followed orders. The businesses put together a campaign called “Save Our Summer” to convince folks that things that weren’t actually in their kids best interest were the right and moral thing to do and got a measure passed that enforced a specific start time and thus compelled a later ending time.

Yikes. Our city/county coordinated their vacation dates, but it is either state or Federal requirements that makes us complete all those snow days. Last year, we went to June. It stunk.

Will make sure to check up on your work day next week. Probably while sipping a cocktail at the Uzima pool. That reminds me, need to put the clothes in the dryer. I have to pack. Leaving Friday morning.

Tough life. I want to be like CJ.

Multi quotin Tuesday morning ownage.

SP?
.

Sesame Place, Ron comes here a few times a yr and I normally get season passes for it which are good for bush gardens and sea world also. So now that she works there we can get free passes.

same number, diff phone again. so I lost a lot of my contacts

...Unless you’re good at turning it off… that can certainly be a problem.

I do work from an office, but they still expect me to have connectivity and still expect unpaid overtime, evening and weekend work on demand. It’s just the way it’s done now.
:sad2:

+1 :headache:

I don't like my job. It is better than ones i had in past, but certainly not my dream job. My dad's company sold when he was 55, and while the new owners were willing to keep everything the same except a new home base (same sales territory but 15 mile longer drive in company car to home office), he was so mad that he was not consulted about sale by owner, that he demanded and received money to retire. So, i heard all my formative years to get a job with a salary and benefits. And, while i have both (& they are good), i am never excited about work. I try to encourage my children to do want they want to do without injecting my own bias.

Are you sure we aren't related? :lmao:

I shouldn't have gone to college until I figured out what I wanted to do with my life. Unfortunately, my bias comes through to often though the kids don't listen so I guess it doesn't matter. I still hope one becomes a plumber and the other an electrician.

Me too. What is your Disney dream job? I want to be the boat captain for Poly, GF, MK route....

That would be good, or work with the trains.

Tha sounds good. Closest place here is Holiday World and Splashin Safari in Santa Claus, IN. DW buys season passes there for around $400. It is about 30 miles away, but they do have a summer transportation program for summer help. Maybe 1 year. But, there water park is as good as WDW.

Maybe we are. I had no idea what I wanted to do when I went to college. I really enjoy being outdoors, the water, and sports. So, while I was not good enough at any sport to go pro, something in sports medicine probably been a good idea. But, I was told get a degree and get a job wi benefits. So, I did that. Now, obviously, I would not have met my wife or had my children if things were different, so I don't go there. But, I would really have enjoyed a career I had some enjoyment doing. Now, 10 more years before I am eligible for parole, er um, retirement. I am excited about my 401K growth to supplement my Teachers Retirement.

That would be good, or work with the trains.

I really enjoy the steam engine trains at MK, but would prefer the outdoor boats (unless it rains and then maybe not so much).

Oh, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, not even my nemesis. Just trying to let him know that there are no better parties than Catholic parties.

Been there. Great place with really good food.

Fingers stuck in my ears. LAH, LAH, LAH...

Dude, stop messin' up our aura :rotfl:
I went to a similar type of school in New Orleans, and I wasn't about to tell him what went on there. Well, not THERE, but at least by the students. I mean, really, CJ doesn't want to know all that.

BUT.. next time you're in Orlando, ya gotta go to the little Byzantine church there. It's really a different experience, and yeah, it 'counts'. :rotfl2:

ETA... Looking at my own sig reminded me...
(Not that there was any doubt, but) Think Catholics don't know how to party? Who do you think invented Mardi Gras?

"it counts". :thumbsup2

Now, I have even recommended that we take a vacation from mass. But, DW knows better and said no way. We usually go to Mary Queen of the Universe when we are there. But, I read that WDW has Mass at CR on Easter.

I had to set CJ straight.

Hmmm.....

Florida weather.
Ocean.
Beaches.
Bikinis.
Diving.
Pro teams.
Traveling.

Think about it

95 degrees with 100% Humidity
Mosquitos that drink a quart of blood with one bite
Roaches as big as small dogs
Overweight tourists wearing speedos
Marlins and Dolphins are worse than bad
Child that is going to cost a small fortune for the next 4 years
Will give you the diving part and 4 hours from Disney
