Morning everyone. Glad to check in on my first full day of being a ddc member :)

Welcome sir!

I missed where you jumped in. Grab a beer form the fridge and a hand full of bacon form the meat-bar and make yourself at home.

Thanks guys, at this point I'm just gonna grab some bacon and a soda...no beer while I'm teaching. But I sneak on during breaks.

So long as you partake of the bacon… it’s all good.

What kind of teaching are you doing?

But are you putting in all that extra time doing something you love to do or is it just a job? I suspect that for you, it’s the first one and that’s a very good thing. :thumbsup2

I have to honestly admit that I once loved what I did for a living, but that’s just not quite true any more. Given my obligations, chucking it just ain’t an option and besides, those things I do enjoy doing, just don’t pay well (or consistently).

I don't like my job. It is better than ones i had in past, but certainly not my dream job. My dad's company sold when he was 55, and while the new owners were willing to keep everything the same except a new home base (same sales territory but 15 mile longer drive in company car to home office), he was so mad that he was not consulted about sale by owner, that he demanded and received money to retire. So, i heard all my formative years to get a job with a salary and benefits. And, while i have both (& they are good), i am never excited about work. I try to encourage my children to do want they want to do without injecting my own bias.

Oh and all this is just buying me time until I get my dream job at Disney!!!

Me too. What is your Disney dream job? I want to be the boat captain for Poly, GF, MK route.

Excellent. It's all downhill now.

Of course… but I ain’t telln’ ya’ about any of it. :rolleyes1

And…
You might want to update your Sig there proud poppa. :thumbsup2
I wouldn't expect any help from you.

I need to work on that.

Hey Andy :wave2:

How's the youngin' treatin' ya?
Hi.

Well, have you ever noticed that they sleep just fine at the hospital, but once you're home they will only sleep when you hold them and only for about 15 to 45 minutes at a time? :confused3 :headache:

Welcome to the club. :thumbsup2

Multi quotin Tuesday morning ownage.

hey just for your fyi my daughter starts her new job at SP this weekend.:thumbsup2

SP?

Wine? Probably. Depends if it was Mad Dog 20/20, Two Buck Chuck or something a little more palatable.
.

Yellow Tail.

Hope it goes well for you.

No increase in health insurance premiums but co-pays are up and some decrease in benefits. No raises until next year, possibly. Just wrapping up another 14 hour day where they "encouraged" me to get more grant dollars. Boy do I fell encouraged.

I can't figure out they got a 12% cut for next year based on enrollment that hasn't happened.

the great state of pa, theres some stupid law that we cant take advantage of the referral system.
:

Then you recruit em and give me the referral and I'll split it with you.

Morning Guys,

Care to bet if Norm has a headache this morning?
?

Little rough this AM, but no headache.

It's super frustrating...Audrey can't break fevers with any of the fever meds either, temp relief, but it always goes back up untill we get to the hospital and get it treated. Fortunately her immune system is starting to strenghen now, and it happens less and less.

Good news. Continued prayers.

Congratulations on the little one!

Yeah, but there are times when I'd love to go back to that being the only problems they have and the only problems they cause. Was looking at some old pics of my kids the other day when they were still little enough to fit on my legs while they were laying down.

Of course, at this point we are looking forward the the 15 year old being able to drive so we can say "go to the store and get this" or "go pick up your sister".

Glad to see that I’m living up to your expectations :rotfl2:

::yes:: Yes… yes I have.

It may have been rather l-o-n-g ago, but that memory does not fade.

Welcome to the club. It only goes downhill from here.

Hi. Have I missed anything important over the past 3 or 4 days? :rotfl2:

Some guy's wife had a baby. Other than that, nothing exciting.

Of course, at this point we are looking forward the the 15 year old being able to drive so we can say "go to the store and get this" or "go pick up your sister".

Be careful what you wish for. My daughter's nickname is Crash for a reason.

My dds are done May 21. I think they already checked out.

The Pirate Princess is deep into studying for her International Baccalaureate (IB) exams. First one was today. Had three group study marathons this week going over math. She needs to get a certain cumulative score to get her IB certificate. Friday is an early release day but instead of getting out of school she has to take an exam. The non IB kids checked out long ago and she is very PO'ed at them.

Alg 2, Precalculus, Calculus and Physics at a small private school.

Cool… you’re the fell’a that would be giving my boy fits right now were he inroled at your school.

Actually that’s not quite fair. He drove his math class into the ditch last year, but this year he’s really been on the ball. It’s quite the change actually and a good one to see.

Homestretch now, last day of school will be May 25! :cool1:

Our school year used to end somewhere between the 18th and about the 22nd depending…

But then the politicians got involved and put a stop that that “nonsense”. They now have to be in school until somewhere in early June.

Getting his license has actually been rather good for our boy. He doesn’t abuse the privilege and he’s able to stay very busy with extracurricular offerings at school while not obliterating our work schedules. Teenagers can be hard to deal with, but they sure do make you proud when they get things right now don’t they?
