I finally got to work on one of the Mustangs today, I started with my 1st car a 72 Mustang Mach 1 351 CJ with full ram air in show condition, all I needed to replace was a starter cellonoid, started right up, but before I can take it out on the Blue Highway I have to give it a cleaning and a waxing, this way when I take it to the road, Detroit Muscle gets the respect it deserves
I did realize something tonite, I can NEVER sell these cars ever

, my son came out in his PJ's all wide eyed that the car was out, he had to have a ride, so I told him to get in and backed it to the end of the 8 car driveway and I drove him into the garage:good vibes, he was so excited when he got inside and told my wife as soon as he saw her

with that I realized it's time to start showing him the ropes

g, I think I'll start him off handing me tools and helping clean the cars

, at least he will know his tools and how to use them
Since I built these cars ground up plenty of my sweat & blood has been spilled working on them so basically they are a part of me, therefore they have to go to my son one day when I'm gone I will still be there in the cars
Out of the 4 cars, 2 are in show condition, 1 is 85% complete and 1 at my Dad's house is 40% done (my dad does work on it on his own sometimes when I go to his house he brings me to the garage to show me what he did, says it keeps him young

)
I invited my dad over next week to help me work on one of the cars, although I could do it myself, I told him I wasn't sure of some stuff, since he is the one who taught me, it makes him feel good to be needed and that he might still be able to teach me something
I guess what I'm getting to is if your child shows a interest in what you are doing. don't turn them away, when you are long gone it could be something your child always remembers you by
