Anyone stay at Beach Club before?

That's the one we are missing at WDW. We bought at Boardwalk for the area as much as the resort, so you get those benefits. BWV also has standard point option for cheaper point stays. As for BC, I like the lazy river, so I know I will like BC for that reason. The water slide looks real cool, but I didn't like the entrance being all the way out on the walking track. My dds are older now, so I'm not as quite worried about them walking out there, but still am. The Cape May character breakfast is one of the better one and no walking to get there.

Office thieves. Can't stand em. Time to put ink dye bags near your Cola.

Hey Greg! (billybobblockhead)

Happy Birthday Greg!

That's why there's a camera in my office...:happytv:

Well the suspect list is pretty short, it happened last night, after my dinner. The one thing at that place, it won't take long to find the suspect, they are not the cleverest bunch.

Hey guys.

Looks like my Sept-Oct trip to WDW is changing a wee bit... We were at BLT from Sept 27 - Oct 3, but now we'll be at WL Sept 25- 27, and BLT through Oct 2. Basically traded our last night at BLT for 2 nights earlier in the vacation at WL (due to DW having some schedule issues). Never stayed at WL so I'm excited to check it out. :thumbsup2

It's a really nice place. Like CJ (kind of) said, the pool is awesome. Part has a sandy bottom and sand bars for building sand castles (and SMASHING them when you're done). It also has a lazy river, a water volleyball area, and a nice big slide.

Beaches and Cream is right there, so if you're in the mood for a kitchen sink, you don't have to burn too many calories to get there. Plus the Boardwalk area is a short walk (or boat ride) across the lake. Walking distance to Epcot and DHS - although that one is about a mile, but on a nice walking path along the water.

We stayed in the DVC villas twice. Very nice rooms - I can't think of anything we had an issue with. We really liked it. :thumbsup2

It sounds like there is plenty of stuff to do. This will be for next year after we get done with the cruise. We don't plan on doing more than one day in the park so we want someplace where we can relax and unwind.

Cape May is one of the character meals we have never done. I will have to work that into the schedule for next year. That is if my stomach has any room after being on the glutton cruise :lmao:

What did you think the positives and negatives were?

The pool is amazing. Make sure you have your resort keys for everyone or they won't let you in. Technically it is large enough to be classified as a "water park." The downside is when the lifeguards leave for the day the pool has to be closed down. So no late night swims.

Beaches and Cream serves the best burger on property. The down side is you could gain a lot of weight eating any number of their ice cream selections. It may also take some time to get a table. Since it is only the two of us, we opt for the counter and can get in relatively quickly.

Easy walk to Epcot. There is a path that cuts through and you can get there pretty quickly.

Restaurants are pretty good but pricey. I like the Captain's Grille where you get a similar meal to Yachtsman but for a lesser price.

Strolling the Boardwalk is fun. The nighttime entertainment is a hoot. Been made fun of by the entertainers many a time. ESPN is there and or adults, Dueling Pianos is a nice way to spend and evening.

All in all, my favorite summer resort at WDW.

Wait a minute. You bust my chops for taking vacations? Didn't you just end a staycation and today is your last day of the week for work? What 5 hours of work this week?

So you had a CL room?

Yup. We booked it through a bounce back offer and found that Club Level was actually reasonable and took it. It's my only CL experience, so I imagine that I'd enjoy it anywhere.

How was the food/treat selection?

I really liked WL, but DW did not. The boatride over the water bridge to MK is so cool. They have a really large beach and have movies closer to the DVC side. The pools don't have water slides and the community halls are not as good as the other resorts. The lodging theming is terrific! To bad you're not there a couple weeks later. Have a great trip.

Stayed at WL a couple of times. Nice place. The boat ride to the MK is a relaxing way to start or end the day. Sure you will enjoy it.

Thanks guys, I'm excited to check it out. It's one of the few I have never even stepped foot in. SSR is the only other one (for now) I can think of. Should be cool.

How was the food/treat selection?

I thought it was fair. I didn't spend a great deal of time in there because F&W was going on and I had a lot of eating to do over there. There were plenty of breakfast pastries, cookies, fruit, chips and dip, and some appetizer-y snacks. I drank a lot of diet Cokes, some wine, and a fair amount of after-dinner cordials. It's not enough to replace meals (except for light breakfasts), but definitely enough to replace snacks.

How nice....an entire area dedicated to fathers who are obsessed with Disney.

I would classify myself as a Disney Dad....My wife and I were married at Disney (Disney Wedding Pavilion), all three of my children have had their 1st vacation at Disney (and each of their B-days). I have a Mickey Mouse tattoo, and watch Disney movies on a weekly (or more) basis. Nice to see so many dads with the same obsession.

Welcome, what is your name sir?

Thanks Eric. I didn't think it would be enough to fill us up, but something to keep us going. We will probably not be in the parks but on one of the three days we would be there.

By the way whoever recommended D-Cot, thank you :cool1::cool1:

I love it. I am listening to it while working. I have listened to O'Canada like four times today! (Brian, it's one of my favorite shows).

Guys, so I'm helping out a coworker with his WDW planning. If you’ve been to the “other place” you would know this coworker under the rant section.

Does anybody have an opinion or thought on All Stars Movies and are any of the Value resorts better than the other? Tell the truth and please advise. How was transportation, rooms, dinning, clientele, atmosphere and the like?

He is hesitant to go the Moderate route for the cost, but is open to it after reading some less than stellar reviews on the net. Of course he reads the negative comments and doesn’t even consider the positive ones.

Thanks for the help.

I'll do my best to eat all the food and save you from your gluttony and the expense of my own. Are you going there on renting points or cash reservation? It fills quickly that time of year with F&W.

Wait a minute. You bust my chops for taking vacations? Didn't you just end a staycation and today is your last day of the week for work? What 5 hours of work this week?

I told you that you are my hero. I'm trying to be more like you. I'm on 4 day work weeks for the rest of the summer.

Did you get it on your mobile phone? I read that there was an extra charge for mobile.

I've been to all the values except new AoA and all-star movies. I liked the all stars better than the pop. I liked the sports and music about the same. I think the deals there are running right now are limited to a specific all star resort, but not sure which.

Consecutive ownage.

George...not sure why I didn't include it...

Welcome. DW and I honeymooned there 12 years ago and we have that many trips back since. I don't have a Disney tattoo only because I am too cheap. If you're buying, I'll ger the ink.

We have a whole crazy club here if you want to stay and chat. We've been thru 20 threads with chats about Disney, bathrooms, cheese, vacations, basketball, nemesis, and lots of other stuff. You can even get your own cool membership number. Dues are payable in dole whips, bacon, beer, or cake.

I did. I really liked the location right by Epcot (DW and I were there for Food and Wine Festival). I liked the theming and decor. I liked the Concierge Lounge. :

I've never done Club Level, but maybe one day. I thought that AKV had the club level that for the additional fee, you could take the safari tour. When the dds are old enough, if they still have it, I want to do that.

I loved the Clown slide...the slide that went with it was awesome:)

Hopefully, Old Key West is just as good...

Yes, the Clown Mouth slide is really cool. The OKW slide is not as good as the fast as the clown, but it is smooth and I think you go up three turns to get to the top. The OKW slide was better than the SSR slide at the Springs pool.

Of the All Stars, I personally like Movies the best. They are pretty much the same though. Pop is my favorite value. One of the reasons is the food court is better.

George...not sure why I didn't include it...

Welcome George.

I told you that you are my hero. I'm trying to be more like you. I'm on 4 day work weeks for the rest of the summer.

Good deal on the 4 work days a week. Did that once. Better than 5 but more than what I am doing now.

Forgot to tell everyone we are headed to the Keys this weekend. Tagging along will be the kid that dared to ask my daughter to the prom. The Pirate Princess needs to get a wet suit and figure out the weight she needs to dive with the added buoyancy before Hawaii.

Howdy Fell’as, just checking in.

Happy Birthday to Greg!

A nice welcome to the club to George!

Who ever it was thinking about going to Beach Club… TAKE ME WITH YOU!
(yah, it’s that good. You’ll enjoy it there)

As for the comparison between Pop & the All Stars: we’ve done Pop but not he others so I can’t compare ‘em directly, but…
if you’re using the bus system, keep in mind that Pop has it’s own bus to and from the parks, while in most cases the All Stars share busses. It’s just a matter of extra time spent in route from point A to point B, and the actual difference may not be all that significant.

stayed at Music years ago. It was okay. The room was decent, if small. I can't imagine staying there with both my kids, but I always look at it this way: "How much time will I spend in the room?? How much time will I spend at the resort?" It was a kick to walk around the all stars and just say "wow, that's the biggest ______ I've ever seen!"

But we've gone DVC and moderates since, so probably never go back to value.
