Ahhhh... I am back from WDW and over the post-trip depression that makes it too painful to deal with Disney-related stuff right after I leave. Had a great time (which will be reported, trip-ically), met up with Stopher, narrowly missed Aaron, and spent some time looking around a very dark Hogwarts for cj9200. And now, to the replies.
THIS
I also found out about some stuff that's coming at work, while I was at WDW, that's making it difficult to post much. I managed to pretty much ignore it until I got home, but at this point I'm sort of in a permanently cranky spot, and it's probably the better part of valor that I refrain from posting much. I fear I'd say something I regret. I'll post a full Rant in the appropriate thread here in a bit. I probably need to get that off my chest before we record a podcast tonight.
Good luck, Aaron, and I hope you get the crankiness relieved soon.
We have never done Hoop De Doo either.
We usually do 1 signature dining per trip, and next trip it is Hoop De Doo... We are looking forward to it.
It's a very fun show, I thought. Plus, your alcoholic beverages are included with the price of your meal. Now, they aren't GOOD alcoholic beverages, but enough quantity may be able to trump low quality. It would just be a rough start.
Well, yet another day with another bad grade so tonight there is no going to "Power Hour" at church for Ethan...I feel bad keeping him from going to church but I have to be consistant. Today it was reading comprehension...I dont know if I have to get a tutor or what...something is not right...this has just started in the last few weeks so maybe they are ramping up the curriculum and he is not getting it. I told Shari we had to call the teacher tomorrow and find out what was going on before he dug himself into a hole he cant get out of. Things where strained but quiet today with the MIL. Shari called me today and told me that Lauren told Nana today..."you should have heard what Daddy was saying about you last night"..that little booger!! I did not know she was in ear shot when I was ranting! I obvioulsy need to be more careful cause Lauren is obviously going to tell when "being pumped" by Nana! I ca't win for losing!!
Yeah, talking to your son and the teacher may help triangulate the problem. If it is across multiple subjects and with pretty sudden onset, it doesn't sound like a problem of not getting the material. It makes me think of nearsighted kids who get moved a little further back in the room and can't read the board anymore, or have made friends who think school isn't "cool" and he is trying to fit in. I don't know, it's a rough spot, and the solution depends a lot on getting the right diagnosis of the problem, and any changes in the classroom or with his friends.
Also backing you up for staring down the MIL when she chose to comment on your parenting. You were totally in the right.
Got the perfect name for the place:
Not Kosher
Well, we could always leverage turkey bacon, to be inclusive (not to be healthy...)
Forgot about Church's. I do agree on the Popeye's sides. The real reason to go there.
Spent the evening looking at
Disneyland stuff on the Boards. Man, I know nothing about DL. Was there many years ago but that experience is mostly useless. Ordered the Unofficial and Birnbaum's guides. Headed to our DL sticky.
I found it to be very unlike WDW, although the rides had some similar names. The Disneyland/California Adventure rides generally do it better than the WDW rides, in my opinion.
