Hello all,
My name is Chris. I'm a father of three DS(7), DD(4) and DD(2). Happily married to my wife for eleven years. I am a Disney addict. We go twice a year with an upcoming WDW and DCL trip in January. It seems I'm always planning a trip and indoctrinate my children daily by having them watch the WDW parades on youtube. I'd love to be a member of the DisDad's as I identify with the majority of your criteria.:wizard:

Welcome aboard. Dues are payable in Dole Whips, Bacon or candied almonds :thumbsup2 (Twizzlers will get you bonus points....)

Howdy gents, very busy week here, as we inch on closer to Christmas. Still no MAJOR rush yet, sales are still down slightly, meaning everyone's waiting for the last minute.:scared1: Running the evenings has been a chore, 4 of our usual evening staff are doing the midnight stock-shift so I have a lot of temp help :headache:, but only two nights to go, so almost there. Friday'll be a busy one for sure. People are already comming in fir items/gift sets that have sold through. (We've had them out since last week of October). And the prediction is this weekend we will be blasted hard, but it's my weekend off so be it! :rotfl2:

It does scare me how much alcohol is consumed over the holidays, and that part of the rush is due to the fact we'll be closed for two whole days! Especially the ones who are in every day...:sad2: have to stock up.

Thanks sooo much guys!! Today I get to go renew my Drivers license and will try to get my motorcycle permit. Just finished reading the manual for the permit test. Hopefully we can squeeze in a viewing of The Muppets.

Happy Birthday!! A viewing of the Muppets seems like a good self-gift.

"Lol. No bathroom pics yet. I'm sure. I've just been busy the last few weeks. Tammy started a new job and I'm swamped at work. I'm sitting in front of a burned out house now waiting for the insurance company. It seams the guy who did some electrical work didn't have staples so he put the nails through the wire to hold it in place. Just when you thought you have seen it all. I'll log in tonight to say hi. It probley will be after seven till I get home. "

Unfortunately we have maxed out on Chris's...

Would you consider changing your name to Kevin?

Hahaha... j/k - Welcome to the club Chris!

Unfortunately we have maxed out on Chris's...

Never. There can never be too many of us!! :cool1:

Back in the day when I was employed by that company who didn't want me anymore after 11 years, there were 3 of us on the regional business team - but a total of 7 throughout the company - but I always stood out from the crowd since I am CHRISTOPHER - and everyone knew it. I haven't gone by the shortened version since I was about 11 - which is also about the time I started using stopher. My best friend back then was Greek (before you jump on this Barry or Mark, he still is Greek, always will be), with a fun last name that most of the kids botched, so he called himself "Coasty" (his last name was Costafoullis - I pronounced it right on the very first try way back when we first met in kindergarten). Through the years he saw that other nicknames were not so pleasant for me so being a good bud he tried out a couple himself, and stopher was what I liked the best. I was a sensitive soul, though I seemed thick skinned. As much as I love Disney, I did NOT like being called Christopher Robin. Or many of the others. All these years later I'm still stopher, here there and so many other places.

Welcome! I am also Chris. We are leading near-parallel lives. Three kids almost the same age. two girls and a boy. Married almost the same amount of time. WDW trip in January. Weird.. You're not a Cubs fan are you?

Alas, I'm not a Cubs fan. I follow the evil empire, NY Yankees;). I do however root for the cubs in the post season (as long as it doesn't interfere with the Yankees).
Thanks for the welcome, I'll be paying my dues in bacon. Not Canadian bacon, as that's not really bacon.

Ahhhh... I am back from WDW and over the post-trip depression that makes it too painful to deal with Disney-related stuff right after I leave. Had a great time (which will be reported, trip-ically), met up with Stopher, narrowly missed Aaron, and spent some time looking around a very dark Hogwarts for cj9200. And now, to the replies.

THIS

I also found out about some stuff that's coming at work, while I was at WDW, that's making it difficult to post much. I managed to pretty much ignore it until I got home, but at this point I'm sort of in a permanently cranky spot, and it's probably the better part of valor that I refrain from posting much. I fear I'd say something I regret. I'll post a full Rant in the appropriate thread here in a bit. I probably need to get that off my chest before we record a podcast tonight.

Good luck, Aaron, and I hope you get the crankiness relieved soon.

We have never done Hoop De Doo either.

We usually do 1 signature dining per trip, and next trip it is Hoop De Doo... We are looking forward to it.

It's a very fun show, I thought. Plus, your alcoholic beverages are included with the price of your meal. Now, they aren't GOOD alcoholic beverages, but enough quantity may be able to trump low quality. It would just be a rough start.

Well, yet another day with another bad grade so tonight there is no going to "Power Hour" at church for Ethan...I feel bad keeping him from going to church but I have to be consistant. Today it was reading comprehension...I dont know if I have to get a tutor or what...something is not right...this has just started in the last few weeks so maybe they are ramping up the curriculum and he is not getting it. I told Shari we had to call the teacher tomorrow and find out what was going on before he dug himself into a hole he cant get out of. Things where strained but quiet today with the MIL. Shari called me today and told me that Lauren told Nana today..."you should have heard what Daddy was saying about you last night"..that little booger!! I did not know she was in ear shot when I was ranting! I obvioulsy need to be more careful cause Lauren is obviously going to tell when "being pumped" by Nana! I ca't win for losing!!:rotfl2:

Yeah, talking to your son and the teacher may help triangulate the problem. If it is across multiple subjects and with pretty sudden onset, it doesn't sound like a problem of not getting the material. It makes me think of nearsighted kids who get moved a little further back in the room and can't read the board anymore, or have made friends who think school isn't "cool" and he is trying to fit in. I don't know, it's a rough spot, and the solution depends a lot on getting the right diagnosis of the problem, and any changes in the classroom or with his friends.

Also backing you up for staring down the MIL when she chose to comment on your parenting. You were totally in the right.

Got the perfect name for the place:

Not Kosher

Well, we could always leverage turkey bacon, to be inclusive (not to be healthy...)

Forgot about Church's. I do agree on the Popeye's sides. The real reason to go there.

Spent the evening looking at Disneyland stuff on the Boards. Man, I know nothing about DL. Was there many years ago but that experience is mostly useless. Ordered the Unofficial and Birnbaum's guides. Headed to our DL sticky.

I found it to be very unlike WDW, although the rides had some similar names. The Disneyland/California Adventure rides generally do it better than the WDW rides, in my opinion.

I texted Dave when I saw this, I asked him if Don was sending him pictures of bathrooms yet, and we were looking for him in the clubhouse, here is what he replied with:

There is a reason everyone it told to use a LICENSED contractor. My DParents ran a union shop down in CA. We closed as we could not afford to compete against both non-union as well as un-licensed. We had been called repeatedly for bids to "FIX" another contractor's mistake. I am glad I am out of the business (we were a paving contractor, but Dad had a General Contracting License so we did other jobs as well).

Truer words were never spoken.

Man, somebody's onto all of our tricks.

Nothing wrong in following a WINNER!!!

::yes:: but the WDW ones are very good as well.

Glad you made it home safely. Did you have a nice stay? Sorry you narrowly missed Aaron, and spent lots of time in the dark searching for CJ... but very glad we got to meet on Main Street!

I was a union electrician for 18 years before becoming a SAHD. I completely agree with you. I don't know how good union contracting companies can stay in business. As I tell people "you get what you pay for". I have seen so many dangerous installations from incompetent contractors. People see the low price in estimates and don't realize those low prices will come at cutting corners. Because they can't see the wiring in the walls, they generally remain unaware of the danger in their homes.
