Went to doc yesterday afternoon and he intially wanted to wait things out more...until I gave him one of these..:scared1::eek:..then he decided that we needed to set me up to have it removed. It has been over three weeks now and I dont think it is going to go anywhere on its own free will and accord :rotfl2:...They have not called with a date yet but I am sure that he will set it up so he can make me wait longer and have the last laugh!:lmao:

WOW - still battling.

I don't envy you at all.

Hope all goes well, and the pebble finds it's way out.

On the subject of infants and respiratory failure....been through that myself.

As a matter of fact, we almost lost my son as an infant due to this. He had been crying a lot and very fussy, but wasn't spitting up or anyting. The pediatrician we saw (at the time) told us he had Acid Reflux and that we needed to have X rays to determine if he had a "soft tissue obstruction". So we had X rays--nothing of the sort. So then she says, yup, definitely reflux.

Little guy continued to cry all day, no sleeping, wouldn't eat, then got very lethargic. I was packing to leave for a training course when I noticed him turning blue and struggling. I grabbed him up and couldn't tell if he was breathing or not, so I started doing infant CPR and told my wife to call 911. I got him slowly "coming around" about the time the first Fire/Rescue truck arrived. Fire department EMT's recognized my address and didn't even slow down at the front door, nor fool with a stretcher.

They grabbed him, put him on Oxygen and whisked him out the door and took off for the helo take off point....Air asset was already enroute.

G man was airlifted to Wolfson's Children Hospital in Jacksonville where he spent the next three weeks in neonatal.

Lots of sleepless nights---and I was supposed to start a new job the next day---that didn't happen.

We eventually found out he had a sever respiratory infection, but we have had no real problems since, though we put him on Xopenex (sp?) at the first sign of trouble for a couple of years.

Now, he's just a normal rambunctious three (almost four) year old and shows no signs of asthma or anything...

We got a new pediatrician post haste....

Scary. DW and youngest dd have asthma. DW uses her inhaler more frequent than child. I have my BLS but have never (thank goodness) had to do CPR on an infant, especially my own child. Bravo.

There's supposed to be a really good show tonight on CBS about a secret about someone named Victoria. I think I'm going to check it out.

She caught me. But, it was a good show.

Who's done their holiday shopping?

Who still hasn't started?

I am just about complete!

I'm done, except for paying for it. Can I send you bill? I will win best gift to DW this year, but I can't post it as she still lurks here.

To be honest, years and years of training and dealing with critical and high stress incidents kicked in.

According to my wife, I appeared very disconnected (from a personal parent/child perspective) and gave her very clear, very detailed orders, and used a "pretty commanding" voice--which actually kept her calm (so she said later).

The dispatcher and the rescue guys say I was clear, extremely precise and gave a highly detailed report of actions/times/observations.

I know that panic is a killer, and I guess I just kept my head in the game---that is until he got put on the helo...then I let down a bit...but pulled myself together to get us down to the hospital...at well over 100mph.:scared1:

I guess just that "side" kicked in and ya do what ya gotta' do.....

Last Wednesday I mentioned that there was a mouse in the house. Here's the update. While I was at work last Weds, my mother-in-law took it upon herself to go around/under the house and seal up any possible entry points. Then my father-in-law placed a few poison cube things under and in the house (out of reach from children). I set up some traps (using the peanut butter and chocolate combo one of you suggested) for a few nights after that to see if we still had a problem. No dead mice so we thought that was the end of the story. After finding more mouse poop we got nervous so I set up the traps again Monday night. I was awoken at 6 am this morning by my screaming wife who had found a dead mouse in the trap. Brave Hero (me) got rid of it. All in all, an eventful morning. To reward me, she made pancakes- Mickey pancakes.
Not sure if they found another hole in our house or if we just sealed in the mice that were already here. I'll be setting up more traps tonight. I think the wife is this close to getting a cat.

"To kill, you must know your enemy, and in this case my enemy is a varmint. And a varmint will never quit - ever. They're like the Viet Cong - Varmint Cong. So you have to fall back on superior intelligence and superior firepower. And that's all she wrote."

We haven’t even started. If I had my way… we wouldn’t start either, but that’s unlikely. No one amongst my collection of kit and kin really, needs anything, but I’m the only one that has publically said that I don’t really want anything. I’ve said that for years now, but no one listens. To me the point of the winter holidays is getting all the family together and sharing time, memories and some good food. That’s plenty, but if I were to listen to Madison Ave… at’s also apparently Un-American. :sad2:

While at the in-laws I was handed a piece of paper and a pen and told to write out a list (of course, I was then constantly asked to do other things which took precedence over list-making). My list had 3 things on it. A Kindle fire/Nook Tablet (which DW and I already discussed as her present to me), the 1lb Reese's PB Cup package, and a belt. They were all like, "that's it?" I told them I could also put underwear, socks, and plain white tee shirts on my list but they make fun of me for that every year, so I stopped.

Now that I think about it, I should have put Zip-Loc bags on the list. I can always use those.

I like buying presents for others, but I've always felt awkward receiving gifts. My side of the family does not do Christmas. My mom is a Jehovah's Witness, and so we didn't celebrate while I was growing up. It's only now that I have my own family that we do it. I don't see anything wrong with gift giving, but I do agree that it shouldn't be the focus and main component of christmas, even if you're not particularly religious.

I really enjoy decorating the house though. :thumbsup2

yeah I am still taking pain meds from time to time. I am trying to only take them when I feel like it is going to get out of control. I don't even want to think about how bad it was last week when we went to the ER for the second time...Makes me shudder to just imagine!!

Sorry to hear you're still dealing with this. I hope they can take care of this for you soon!

when the septic tank has to be replaced, it has to be replaced! :lmao: i was on a job today where they were digging these peoples septic tank out. the old tank just collapsed. this hole is 16 feet deep. they wanted me to go down so they could take my picture but there was no way your getting me in a hole that deep. not to mention the only way down was in the bucket of the excavator. :lmao:

Hope it goes away soon and you feel better.

It's like when you walk into a bathroom, smell poop, then turn and run out to find another bathroom.

Nice job, Fed!

Did you see that Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies comes out for the iPhone/iPad tomorrow??

Steve, hope this gets resolved quickly! Wouldn't even wish this on my nemesis

NEW WDW ROOM DISCOUNTS ARE OUT!!!! :woohoo:

Really?! I hadn't heard...there's nothing out there on FB yet...too bad no one from Fairytale Journeys jumped on this yet...oh, well...

We're booked! Aaron already knows this due to an oddity on the DCL site but we got it resolved. I've subscribed to your TR and I'm reading it now! Thanks!

Aw shucks! You mean I don't get to keep the commission on your trip? :confused3

Just kidding. Was very strange to get that Email this morning. Hopefully, I'll be getting one of my own before too long.

Um, please don't post the address. I'd have to refer the case to OSHA. That's at least one serious trenching violation. There's no way those trench walls are benched legally, and there's no trench box in sight. That thing is a grave waiting to happen. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Dinner tonight at the Scott2997 household:

Chicken Picatta
Smashed Redskin Potatoes
Green Beans

Rolls

And Chocolate Silk Pie for desert!

Oh yeah - Wednesday night is supper club night. We have a little Wednesday night dinner between our house, my DW's sisters and her parents.

Kinda fun - good excuse to get together.

Best way to experiment with new recipes!
