Here's a question for all of you wise DisDads:

We've got a big family trip to DW coming up in March - it's a Christmas gift for our 3 daughters and their families (14 total counting wife and I). The kids know the date but not much more.

My wife has created cute itinerary binders to give them as a wrapped gift on Christmas day. All the details are included, airline, rental car, lodging, etc, etc.

She wants me to create a dvd with some videos to build excitement with the grandkids (excitement already there but she wants more). I know how to capture youtube, undercover tourist, type of videos.

But I was just wondering if anyone out there in DisDads land has already done something like this before - or has any awesome ideas for me?

And yes, I have procrastinated this until the week before Christmas! Is procrastination a DisDads vice or virtue?

:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

My first thought is the Disney DVD that they offer. But that will be 2-3+ weeks for delivery. Maybe one of the dads has the newest one that they can send you. I have last years somewhere. I can go into a deep recon mode and find it if you would like it. Just a thought.

Doubt anyone is up reading this now... hopefully you are all having a good friday!!
Read it... great pictures. I'm not a fan of big cities, but I think it would be cool to go to NYC sometime during the Christmas season.

Gross out time. And I apologize for that and the fact this is going to be long. Couldn’t sleep so I decided to write. Forgive my babbling.
Babbling forgiven. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you recovered and we still have you around. I knew you had some health issues last fall, but I never realized it was "might not see 2011" serious.

What a bummer. Just found out that MSEP won't be performed while I'm at WDW next month. Having never seen this in person, I was really looking forward to seeing it. :sad1: Guess I'll have to find something else to see:goodvibes
Sorry you're going to miss it. It's neat to see it, but honestly I like Spectro better anyway...

Great Christmas pics. I like the Grinch skiing.

Not great pics of your foot, but great message. Life is a blessing that I take for granted.

James, now that is what I call a day-trip, awesome pics, another reason to visit NYC one day. Santa at Macy's looks amazing, I'm going to have to show them to my dad who does the Santa thing himself (not malls, but parties etc)

Here is a story about a mall that finally understands.

http://ca.news.yahoo.com/mens-den-lets-men-hide-christmas-shopping-224201184.html

For once I wish I lived in Toronto. :rotfl2:

The good news is that the mall is in Pickering to the east of Toronto, so you don't actually have to live there! :woohoo:

Gross out time. And I apologize for that and the fact this is going to be long. Couldn’t sleep so I decided to write. Forgive my babbling.

So what did 2011 teach me? IT IS GOOD TO BE ALIVE! That and the human body is resilient. Gained back most of the 35 pounds I lost and am able to lead a somewhat active life. Still fatigue easily and walking can be a chore, but all in all, life is good. Looking forward to a great 2012.

Sorry about my ramblings. It was cathartic to write down a little bit about this year and I thank you guys for putting up with it. Now I am ready to get back to talking about bacon. LOOK SQUIRREL.

Sounds like a hell of an ordeal, and a testiment to your spirit that you fought and won. :thumbsup2 Here is to a healthy and prosperous 2012! :woohoo:

Great pictures baseballmickey! Your son and Santa have similar facial expressions. There's nothing like NYC at Christmas time. We have an apartment in downtown Manhattan and the kids love their city trips, especially this time of year. How was Earl Of Sandwich? I'll have to make my way over there soon as it's my favorite eatery at WDW.

‘Morning all…

Again… I have missed much.

Commitments and…
Responsibilities have been…
Undermining my…
DIS time.

Let’s see if I can keep up with y’all today…

James…
Great Mini-TR on the expedition into the city. Looks like a good adventure had.

CJ…
Wow… just…wow. Glad to have you here with us and it’s always good to keep a little perspective whenever we think things are getting to be a might overwhelming.

Sick as a dog last night. Throwing up, etc. Hate that. Haven't done it in years. Anyway, I HAD to go to work this am for 3 hours (unfortunately no way around it) & accidentally put two different shoes on. I posted a pic in FB, Not my proudest moment.... I must say, only one guy noticed (yes, my gay co-worker, cliche I know). The woman all noticed.

Hope you're feeling better! The picture was hysterical.

Andy, I take back anything nice I've ever said about you. Next time in Chicago we're going to Lou's. :rotfl2:

Run, Andy! Run!

I accidentally did that yesterday, but didn't notice until today, when I grabbed a pair of socks that didn't match. Looked in the hamper, sure enough, there were the mismatched pair. So I did what I feel anyone would do...I wore the new mismatched pair. No sense in washing only half of them come laundry time.:lmao:

Nice! This falls under the Law of Conservation of Laundry.

Good man, just crazy right now....still waiting to hear if I'm going to get to go to Miami for the Orange Bowl, or be sent to Trinidad for three weeks the first week of January.:confused3

Now there's an interesting choice of destinations...

Today there was a package at my door....

Wow that's quite a score. Chocolate Cheese fudge is intriguing. What'd it taste like?

I can vouch that the root beer, bacon cheddar and chocolate cheese fudge are highly enjoyable. :thumbsup2 The chocolate cheese fudge basically tastes very rich and chocolatey. We used up our supply very quickly.

I've had a goatee for the last seven years. Tonight my two year old wouldn't give me a kiss goodnight because i was "too ouchy". Thirty minutes later the goatee is gone. DW won't see until Saturday morning, but will be highly upset. Do I tell her the truth or feign a skin allergy? I'm calling on all the disdad's power.

My DW likes the goatee, which is the only reason I grew one. But I shave it every once in a while because she also likes the variety. I think she can only stand to stare at my ugly mug for so long before it needs a change. So maybe you can pass yourself off as a new man? :confused3

Mark I was addressing Christmas cards tonight and it was a struggle not to send yours to "The Oblivious Family"

You totally should have done it! :rotfl2:

Our cars are a little delayed this year. We tried to go the cheap route with one picture, and it didn't print well at all. So we had to order a new batch.

Showed DD the chocolate cheese fudge pic and her comment was, "That is so wrong." Guess she is not made out for Wisconsin.

Don't knock it till you try it!

Okay... so all caught up and still awake. The last two days have been busy. Wednesday, we went into NYC to see the "real" santa at Macy's, as well as see the tree.

Nice pictures! Santa doesn't look very jolly, though. Is it the same guy from A Christmas Story? :confused3

We went and saw the National Christmas Tree in Washington, D.C. this past weekend and to be honest, it was a little lame. The one at Rockefeller Center looks MUCH more impressive.

Gross out time. And I apologize for that and the fact this is going to be long. Couldn’t sleep so I decided to write. Forgive my babbling.

Thanks for sharing the story CJ! Great reminder not to take life for granted. I think I can safely say we're all glad you recovered and that you're part of this illustrious group.

Perfect acronym! :rotfl::thumbsup2

I had a full beard when I met SWMBO but never shaved it off despite her wishes , but when DD asked me too because it made me look old off it came

after about 22 years.

I think they've each ordered that and my effort will be redundant, I'm sure. Thanks for the good idea, I'll find out if they have that and go from there.

Okay, granted Pickering IS where the nuclear power station is, but still.. ask DW about having to commute into Toronto every day, she'll give you an earfull...:rotfl2:

It's weird enough to be in December and still be able to say, "How 'bout them Leafs?":rotfl2: Go Leafs Go

My 9-year-old daughter has never seen me without my beard, and she freaks out at the slightest mention of maybe, possibly, shaving off my beard. She insists that without my beard, I won't look like me.

Funny beard story, my dad had a beard when I was younger and as part of his career he was transferred to a refinery when me and my sisters were younger. As a safety requirement, no men were allowed to have beards (due to Scott Air Pack seal requirements) and thus he had to shave. Neither of my sisters (nor I) had seen my dad beard-less until that day. He came home from the barber (couldn't do it himself) and my youngest sister came running, stopped and went back in the house screaming. :rotfl2: She didn't recognize him and was scared for 2 days about the stranger. :rotfl2:

Gross out time. And I apologize for that and the fact this is going to be long. Couldn’t sleep so I decided to write. Forgive my babbling.

Ramblings welcomed and we're all glad you've recovered so well. It was interesting to talk to you about this when we met in Miami especially the parallel to what our daughter went through a few years ago.

Here's to a better 2012 and good times ahead.

I was in Toronto about a month ago and Imistakenly grabbed a cab to go from the Delta Chelsea to the Royal York around 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. That was quite the experience.

Sorry I'm just waiting for the Leafs to come back and join the Habs.

James your NYC picture are fantastic!!!!!!! We went to NYC a few years ago in December and went to Macy's Santaland on my birthday...I sat on his lap (yeah I know it is supposed to be for kids but hey...it was my birthday..I need to find the picture)..it was cool for Santa and his elves to sing Happy Birthday to me!!:thumbsup2

CJ...Your foot looked horrible. I see that sort of foot nearly every day but rarely get to see the after shot that looks so much better after we work on them and open up the vessels. I am so glad to hear that you have been able to recover from such a difficult time!!! God definitley has more work for you to do...it was not your time no matter what the docs were trying to convince you of!!! Keep hanging in there!!

If I lost I would of sent him some Naughty Nurse, some Hooker, Ten Penny, & some Dirty Penny.

Are we still speaking of beer here? Sounds like some other 'entertainment'. :rotfl2:

Fella’s – :wizard: Newegg has Disneyland Adventures for $24.99 today! For Kinect...check it out!!:thumbsup2

Great deal! I happened to catch it at the same price through BestBuy a few weeks back. I doubt any place will have it any cheaper. Jump on this deal!

Just checking in.

I am still alive and kicking - just been busy with Christmas stuff, work, learning Photoshop stuff, travel agent stuff, and trying to make time to play Modern Warfare 3 as often as possible.

DW received her Christmas bonus yesterday and it was more than normal. I am trying to talk her into spending some of it on a family vacation somewhere... :rotfl:
