Time for lunch and if I don't get back on and try to run the page at some odd hour my wish for all of my friends for 2012

May the best you have ever seen be the worst you will ever see.
May the mouse never leave your grain store with a tear drop in its eye.
May you always stay hale and hearty until you are old enough to die.
May you still be as happy as I always wish you to be.

Nemesis it looks like you have padded your numbers during the night and morning and pulled away :rotfl2:

He's only 15 ahead - and blocked at work... ;)

That's only 1 page of ownership.

David is hot on your tail, Steve! (and Scott's not too far behind). Better catch up!

And just you-tube is blocked at work!

So over on the Convention thread, by my count and from personal communications, we're up to potentially 9 for a Guys-Only weekend (see my rationale for this below)

My wife is actually very supportive of a man-vacation. She takes a yearly girls trip with friends from college, so sees nothing wrong with me doing this and in fact fully supports and encourages it! Clearly, I married very well! :thumbsup2 The kids also know that dad is entitled to his own time.

And really, would your wife rather you do a guys trip in somewhere like Vegas? Seems to me we could get in a lot less trouble in Disney. We've never talked about it, but I think that part of the reason my wife supports my Disney obssession is that there are much, much worse things to be obssessed with...

So by my count, pretty definites would be:
Christopher
Carl N
Carl F
CJ
Aaron
Scott
Randall
Brian
Me

I'm going to propose getting as many "definites" as we can and arranging a weekend. We can try to coordinate it around other guys trips and if someone wants to bring a family, great, but we'd have some guys-only activities planned. Also, just because you're not a "definite" now, doesn't mean you couldn't come! If you're not on this list and you'd like to be involved in the early planning, please let me know (FB, email, text, PM, telegraph, etc).

Blocked at work...

I am not ok with that!

I understand stringent firewalls at office buildings, or other places of employment.

But if a Dr. can't be trusted with his browsing, that's a problem.

Even if the nurses and reception had some firewall filters, there should be a group that allows full access to those who may require it. What if you need youtube for something work related, like showing a patient the proper way to take a medication. Or what if you are searching for a symptom you haven't seen before, and because the page it's found on has the word breast on it, you can't get there.

You might have problems finding a place down there where the highest point in the state is Expedition Everest. But, judging from the TR I have read, you and the Pirate Princess would enjoy it. Carolyn was a little wild eyed a few times. Her biggest problem was when we were done they rappel you down and at first she did not want to let go of the rope.

You are right, Florida is vertically challenged. I heard somewhere that Gatorland has a zip line that goes over a gator pit. Adds a little spice to the experience. Maybe a Dis Dad meet. Possibly a nemesis grudge match.

In February, I am going on a guys' trip to Roatan. They supposedly have zip lines near there. Will have to ask if you need to repel down because like Carolyn my eyes would be wild eyed. Not a fan of heights. But you only live (or die) once.

I've got 59 posts to go... you only have 12. If you don't beat me to the next century mark, you aren't a very good nemesis.

Well… you yourself have been known to run up a pretty good post count. I mean… I’ve been on these boards since the beginning of 2007, but you’ve complied near 4k worth of “commentary” since April of 2010. I think you’ve got a better grasp on the “chatty” title then I do.
:rolleyes1

But then again… I certainly don’t want to be seen as an unworthy nemesis

This actually comes up quite a lot. Much of the American Academy of Pediatrics sites are blocked for some reason and almost all of our attachments are blocked from my work email (so when collaborating with a colleague out of the institution, I have to send things from my hotmail account). Our IT department is openly mocked as incompetent. Just this am, I send two files out: one was a manuscript with no confidential info to another physician to review (and it was blocked!) and one was a patient summary (that contained lots of confidential info) that I sent at the families request to a pulmonologist at CHOP in Philly (and was not blocked!). :confused3

Take charge Chris, I anoint you DDC (Dis Dad Convention) Manager. Not that I have any power to do that. One suggestion I have is a Kitchen Sink meet. Maybe right after we do a drink around the world challenge. Could lead to interesting pictures. Lets pick a date.

I have something valuable to say in all of my posts. Usually it is at the expense of another DIS Dad, but valuable none the less.:thumbsup2

Well, so much for my advantage of him being blocked from work!!:rolleyes1

Makes me sad to not be a definite or even a likely at this point!!!:sad1: Like I sad before...miracles do happen....ho hum!

Ethan has had the audacity to outgrow his shoes so I have to go get anothe pair for him today....leaving he keyboard and allowing doc to pull further away....Maybe his internet access will go down while I am gone!:rolleyes1

When I read that my first thought was, "my wife really frowns upon me dating."

I am definitely on the definite list. I am flexible as to the date we choose since we have nothing booked.

Actually they fly to Hawaii - then board the ship, and cruise around the islands

You are ruining my plans. Build me a ship to take me to Hawaii.

We did the same with one of my son's friends.

I asked him if he wanted more candy, and I took a ziploc bag and filled it completely with all the left over candy (from the tray not garbage - I am not that mean ;) ) I told him he can't eat it now, he has to take it home.

His parents came to get him, I delicately mentioned he was a bit wild. I think his folks assumed the candy bag was part of the loot bag. :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Brilliant. I am not the perfect parent, but don't want to be the one with the most ill- behaved child.
