Mornin' Dads!

Back to the ole' grind today.....yeah, most of my family members said "Really, you have to work Monday???!?!"

Gotta love retail!

Hope everyone that is lucky enough to be home with their families today has a great day of recovery and playing with all the new toys!!!

:thumbsup2

(ooooh...back at work ownage!)

Can't believe I am still awake. 8 hours until work again. I just had try out posting from my new Kindle Fire. So far it rocks! First book will be Treasure Island, a childhood favorite of mine.

We got a Kindle Fire here too and love it!!!

DW really enjoys her Kindle Fire. I called it her crack yesterday the way she was addicted already.

I have officially survived the road trip from Peanut Butter.

So sorry to hear of the travel woes. I hope your luck keeps improving today.

Morning, gents!

DW loved her Christmas present (a trip to WDW without the kids in March). The kids report that they got everything they wanted (which is always amusing to me, since I know that they didn't get some of the stuff on their list, but I think in the haze of Christmas, they forget) and we had a generally nice day with my father and his wife.
...

That is a great present idea. Glad your Christmas went well. My dds wrote notes to Santa in Christmas Eve, leaving then by the cookies, about new gift ideas not previously shared. They too forgot about those requests.

Good morning everyone!

Getting ready to head out and do some day after Christmas shopping.

I hope everyone enjoyed their respective holidays. For those of you traveling stay safe.

Morning Dave, buy me something real nice. If it is clothes, then I need size super extra fat as I have been grazing now for a week.

Morning Guys,

Aaron, was reading about your adventure on FB. Glad you all made it back in relatively one piece.

Overcoming my Christmas food hangover. Overall a really nice day. The roast beast was great. Here are a couple pics.

My plate including my slice of roast beast. I was only able to eat about half of it. Plenty of leftovers but now I need recipes on what to do with beast remnants.

DD's plate. Yes, that is a vegetarian corn dog. Must be sad to be a vegetarian. Especially during the holidays. She said she enjoyed it though.

Soon after dinner I had to take a nap. We didn't even get to dessert before I was catching some Z's.

I have officially survived the road trip from Peanut Butter.

For those of you who haven't been following along on Facebook, here's what I've dealt with since we left the house on Thursday morning:

1) First stop was my office's family holiday party. The party itself was great. Forgetting my camera at the office was not. I didn't realize I'd left it until we were well on our way to Iowa.
2) 15 minutes into the drive to my in-laws, we blew a rear tire. Two new tires and two hours later, we were on our way again.
3) Broke the tooth repair I had done at the dentist just a few months ago on a piece of licorice during the drive
4) Mikaela sat down on the bench in the foyer of Ruby Tuesday (where we'd stopped for dinner) and the wood-and-metal air conditioning grate fell straight down on her head. (Luckily, no blood drawn).
5) Friday night Jon was having a hard time sleeping, so I pulled him into bed with me. After tossing and turning for another half-hour, he sat up and puked all over me.
6) Saturday night, after seeming to be fine all day, again Jon sat up in bed and puked (this time, he mostly missed me).

Everyone seems to be healthy now. We did go ahead and drive home tonight, instead of waiting to head back in the morning. Luckily, no one puked in the car on the way home, and the drive itself was easy. So maybe we've turned a corner. We'll see - tomorrow night is the big family Chanukah party with my family. Hopefully, getting the kids (most of) a night's sleep in their own begs will help.

Wow Aaron, when one thing goes wrong it's like a domino affect.

Really sorry to hear that.

Hope everyone stays healthy and away from heater grates.

Enjoy the Family Party, save me some latkes ;) .

Aaron...I guess I missed most of this on facebook with all of the holiday running we had...all I have to say about this is...Bless your hearts!!...The good thing is in time you are going to look back andlaugh at all of this and say..."remember that year the a/c grate fell?...oh yeah that was the same year that Jon puked all over Dad" yep fun times LOL:rotfl2:

Some potentially bad news to report, however, I just looked at my wall calendar and noticed that it ends in 6 days! :scared1: Hope that doesn't mean anything...

Did the Mayan Calendar I sent to your office not make it?? It should take care of you until next Dec 21....then...well...your on your own I guess :rotfl2:

CJ...that roast Beast looks great!!!!:thumbsup2

The reason we're still closed today is all we get on boxing day are the die-hard alcoholics and returns, and it's not worth paying staff triple time to work, so we stay closed. I lucked out with my day-off and my Christmas lieu day all together to make a 4-day weekend.

At the in-laws now in Sarnia, we had the official Christmas dinner for everyone here, Ribs! :woohoo: Tomorrow is the diner with Jo's dad, Lasagna, be while before we eat this good again. :rotfl2: Feeling very worn out today, been having a hard time keeping my eyes open, and body is stiff and achy. All the running around at work and extra time working, plus all the late nights getting things done at home have caught up to me. A cold is making itself at home too it feels like. Good thing the in-laws have the QUILT OF DOOM which puts me out as soon as I put it over me...:woohoo:

If they want to cut out the LCBO of the picture completely, the die hard alcoholics, can just buy the unwanted bottles off of those looking to return. Cost you guys nothing staff wise, and maybe the returners can make a couple of extra bucks of the alcoholics.

I suggest getting a bulletin board to post outside the store, with a note saying CLOSED - PLEASE MAKE YOUR OWN ARRANGEMENTS and have two columns:
- Looking to buy
- Looking to sell
and then a contact number. :thumbsup2

Good morning, fellows.

The wife and I went to see Tintin last night. We got a couple free tickets from a fast food joint over the weekend.

I didn't really know what to expect, seeing as how I'm not all that familiar with the subject material, but we both really enjoyed it!

I don't really think it would be something I'd take little kids to go see (lots of alcohol reference, a slightly bloody shoot out, and occasionally difficult ton understand accents). Then again, I remember watching Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies when I was in elementary school, so I suppose it'd really be up to the individual parents. Just thought I'd inform a bit as to what to expect. I would probably take a 8 or 9 year old to see it...

We'll be celebrating our third anniversary of me asking the missus out on New Year's Day. Looking forward to going to see Lion King 3D (it's just stating in theaters over here on Thursday).

What did she say? :rotfl2:

Happy 3rd Anniversary...

Hey guys! Checking in quick on vacation... Hope everyone had a great Holiday weekend. We told DD about our Disney trip yesterday, and now she's counting down the days till we go. Only 10 days left! :cool1::cool1:

Also, there was a lot of bacon consumed in my house all weekend.:thumbsup2

How come the kids get the easy countdowns...

The roast beast looks delicious. I'm thinking once chilled you could slice that beast nice and thin and make a pretty awesome sandwich.

The phrase "vegetarian corn dog" makes me a little bit sad.

I hope that everyone enjoyed/is still enjoying their holidays. Ours are pretty well at an end. Everyone had a great Christmas. The kids are really enjoying the Disneyland game for Kinect. I wish you had the option to ride the actual rides though. Also it looks like you can't go into great moments with mr lincoln. The museum there was one of my favorite parts in the park so it's a bummer to not be able to explore it.

I got some cool swag.

This book is about 200 pages and is filled with amazing artwork and stories. It'd make an awesome coffee table book, if your kids won't destroy it. (mine would and we don't have a coffee table so I'm out of luck.)

DW made me the shirt on the right to wear post race sunday. The shirt on the left is from a butcher shop in Tennessee. Its a bacon scented t-shirt. It smells awesome. Dogs are my friends when I wear it.
