Today,my coworkers and i measured and weighed ourselves. We are going to be doing this once a month, near the end of the month. If we stay the same or lose weight, good...if we gain, we put 10 bucks in the pot..At the end of this, whoever loses the most gets the money..
So as of this morning, this is where i stand.
157 lbs (not happy with this at all!)
Waist-29.5 inches
Arms-11 inches
Legs-23.2 inches
Hips-42.9 inches
chest-35.4 inches

im really going to start focusing on what i am eating and how much of it i am eating..I need to kick myself into gear. I want to drink at leaset 4 bottles of water a day as well as stop snacking..NO MORE ICE CREAM! The mini goal is i want to be down to 145 by the time i go away on my cruise..hopefully that is an attainable goal.

I have a drs appointment with my endocrinologist on tuesday-I feel that my thyroid levels are low, so im hoping we can do something to change that..That can really hurt my weight.

Have a great weekend all!

What great incentive to lose!!!! I hope it helps you out. The thought of more money for your cruise would motivate me! I think you have set some reasonable goals. Don't deprive yourself, though. If you totally cut out something you love, you're more likely to binge. Let yourself have a treat of a low fat, or sugar free ice cream treat! Some of them are really yummy! Sweet Freedom is one of my favorite brands!

Good luck with the doctor. The thyroid is something to really watch!

Checking in for the week. I lost 1lb this week. I thought it would be a bit more with my new excercise habit (I have been pretty consistent every other day so far), but 1lb is better than none. I am inching up on the 40lb mark. :cool1:

Have a great week everyone.

Hello, everyone! I'm down 2 more pounds since my last weigh in! I'm so close to my goal!!!! Keep on me, ladies!!! I don't want to come this far and then just settle for "so close to my goal". I want to make it!

Melanie - Congrats on the pound loss!!! Don't forget, with your increased exercise you are building, so for a while the loss will be slower than usual. Pump up your water intake, and you'll start to see the loss again, soon!

well, i have been drinking a lot of water and watching what i eat...i am going to start exercising today.

My dr appointment didnt go very well--he wont change my medications-i am going to start to process of looking for a new endocrinologist. its just annoying!!

So I'm down 6 pounds including the .6 pound I lost at WDW for a total loss of 41 pounds. :cool1: :cheer2: :yay: :Pinkbounc

Glynis...........you are so close & I am so very proud of you. Wish there was a smilie for patting you on the back. What an inspiration you are. :goodvibes

Jen you are heading in the right direction drinking water & watching your intake. Good luck with the endocrinologist hunt.

Becky......way to go. :thumbsup2 You are doing a super job.

hi everyone--yesterday, i managed to run/walk a mile on the treadmill--it doesnt sound like alot but it felt like it to me! i did another 1/2 mile today..my goal is to do a mile tomorrow..im sore, so hopefully it wont be too bad!

You can do it. I know you can. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: You are so close, but I am sure it seems so far away. Are you still planning your long walk for this weekend or not with Alan's work fiasco??

I'm sure going to try! My SIL knows that I am training, and she's offered to have the kids over to her house for a "late night" which means I take them in jammies and they have a popcorn/movie night. Then I'd pick them up after my walk. Sounds like a plan to me!!!

Thanks!
Today i did about 7/10 of a mile..but i ran more than i did the other day, which is why i couldnt do the mile..
(since my thyroid surgeries, if i am running or getting too active, my throat feels as if it is closing up and i start breathing really heavily..so i cant work out too long at a time-very annoying)

I have been sticking to my low carb diet for almost a month now and overall I have only lost 4 lbs. I really think that my body has adjusted to the low carb diet over the years which makes it less effective. I have decided to give weight watchers a try. I would have hit a meeting today, but they are closed for Labor Day. The plan is to try to make a meeting tomorrow night. I'm not sure why, but I feel like weight watcher is like AA for food addicts. I now need to hit meetings to stay on the wagon :rotfl: :rotfl: I know that lots of people have had great success with WW so hopefully I will be able to acheive good results too.

Deb

Deb,
Good luck at Weight Watchers. It has been working for me & it is an easy to LIVE with program (remember you are not on a DIET you are on a LIVE IT :rotfl2: ). I'll be rooting you on. :cheer2:

Good luck, Deb! We are all behind you! Melanie has had such good success with WW, I should think that you will, too! Be sure to let us know how your meeting goes!

tomorrow i am going to do another mile, hopefully...with my thryoid surgeries, i get tired real easy and get out of breath very quickly when im working out...im trying to push myself to make a mile although it doesnt always happen

Keep up the good work with the exercise Jen. Way to go. :thumbsup2

Well, I am on a roll with my own excercise. I have consistently done 3 times a week for almost 3 weeks now. Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:
Weighed in tonight & gained a half a pound (but I have my monthly visitor so I knew that even though I had a good week & exercised there was no way I would loose this week).

Everyone have a good week & just keep swimming. :fish:

I must tell you all that switching to WW is pretty hard for a low carb girl. I am so used to looking at the carb count on everything, but now I need a calculator and the fat, calorie and fiber content. I couldn't believe that a 4 oz porterhouse steak is 7 points!! I think I'll be fine I just need to reprogram myself. Day 3 today and I'm on track.

Melanie, congrats on the excercise. That is my big downfall.

Deb

Ok I am back! Started WW's today at 213..Goal 150 by next spring. I am 5'7 so thats a nice size 8-10 for me. Good luck everyone.

That is a big adjustment Deb......but you can do it & at least you can have some bread. I did Atkins once a long time ago & we were at a restaurant & my husband said I was looking at his roll & potato with lust in my eyes :rotfl2: . Thanks for the :cheer2: for my excercise. It has been a huge hurtle for me to finally get started, but I've been doing good for 3 weeks now & don't they say 4 weeks makes something a habit????

Welcome back Anne Marie.......good luck on Weight Watchers. It has worked well for me. I still have a ways to go, but I feel good about the progress I have made.
