DDA's New Year's Weight Loss accountability Thread

Deb,

Is that what you do..Atkins? My DH swears by it. I find it very difficult to stay on Atkins because I like to have a sweet (ff chocolate pudding, skinny cow ice cream, or a couple of pieces of dark choc) & you can't do that on atkins.

The 100 day thing is just a way to jumpstart me into losing weight..I would have alittle more to go after the 100 days is over..but about 120 days or some from now I will be in WDW with free food..& then all bets are off. :lmao:
I will have to resume ww's when I return. Theres no way I am going to able to diet at WDW especially with the free food!

Today is day 5, so why don't you jump on the bandwagon with me & you can do a 95 day challenge? :teeth:

Well my progress to date is good..haven't "slipped" yet & even got in some exercise this week. Hope you all do great today.

I've joined Anne Marie on her 100 day challenge. The more the merrier! I have WAY more than 100 days to go, but it is a great jump start and a cool goal to reach.

I'll be in Disney in 111 days, and I'm not going to be so strict there. When I get home, I'll start up another 100 days.

Well today is day #3 for me out of 100. I would love to go 100 days eating healthy & I am determined to do it.

I stayed within my ww's points today & drank my water & I am feeling positve that I am not going to fail this time. (with your help  )

Hope everyone had a great day.

Keep up the good work!!! You can do it!!

That is an awesome goal. I wish I had thought of it. It seems so attainable. My goal is to get through this weekend without screwing up too badly then get back on track again. I haven't been horrible by any means, but I'm not sticking to Atkins either. I think just being aware is an improvement over my past non dieting days.

Deb

Deb, you can do it. Just ask yourself when you see something you want to eat... "do I NEED that?" I know I WANT it, but do I NEED it? I try to ask myself that and it seems to help me.

I found last summer that even with what I ate at DL, I walked SO MUCH and drank so much water, that I lost a few pounds. I even ate ice cream and a corn dog.
So don't worry about going to Disney as long as you walk and drink water, it should balance out what you eat.
I have friends who went this past Jan and they ate, ate, ate and took the monorail in and out of the park. They did gain weight, and didn't understand why.

Todays goal is to toss out the Easter candy. The girls and I do not need it what so ever. It will be hard, because I LOVE maltballs and the robin eggs are the best malt balls ever.
My other small goal is to drink more water today. I hate water (this came from being deployed to the middle East and having to drink a bottle of water per hour, at least that is what they asked of us) then I got pregnant and it was "drink a lot of water", so I think I am on a NO WATER kick now. I guess I should get over it, it's been two years.
So today.... I will drink at least THREE glasses of water. Done deal!

I can jump in after tomorrow. My parents anniversary is today so we are having a party tonight and are taking them out to dinner tomorrow night. After that I should be good for awhile (unless you count going out for drink on May 19th  I have a friend turning 21 and she has been planning this for months. I'm sure that I will have a few).

I do Atkins and have found some wonderful low carb ice cream that I have as a treat. There are also low carb candies out there. It really isn't bad for us. Exercise is my issue. Maybe I'd be better off doing a 100 day exercise challenge. :)

Good job everybody making smaller goals to stick to & then moving along with things. That is a great way of doing things. I am trying to do the same thing with Weight Watchers.....10 pounds at a time. I hope I hit that 30lb mark on Tuesday, but if I don't I will just keep on going.

Deb, excercise is my bigger hurdle too, but I have been walking quite abit. Did 2 miles today, so I guess I am doing a little bit better.

Less than 2 weeks til I will be at the beach.......woo hoo. Going to treat myself to a few things & not really count my points that week, and I am not going to stress myself out if I gain a pound or two. It's vacation!!!! But we are so active (walking on the beach tons & we rent bikes to ride on the bike paths all week) when we are at Hilton Head that I don't usually gain even with treats, so hopefully it will be that way this year.

I'll be back Tuesday...hopefully with good news.

Paula - I have 2 words for you CRYSTAL LIGHT! Ever since my surgery, I've been required to drink 64 oz. of water a day minimum. For a while, I couldn't tolerate the taste of water, it literally made me sick to my new stomach. DH started mixing me crystal light, and that did the trick. It has no calories and no carbs, so it really made it easier for me to get my water. Now I can tolerate the taste of water, but I like to mix it up with some water, some crystal light. I love the Raspberry Ice flavor, and the Strawberry Tangerine. Try it, you'll like it!

Russell Stover and Weight Watchers both make some wonderful sugar free candy. If you need a sweet it really hits the spot. I love the Russell Stover Toffee Squares. The neat thing is that I can eat one and be satisfied for at least a couple of days.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. Tuesday is my big weigh in day, too. I've been really good and I've noticed a bit of a difference (of course I weigh in every day) in the way my clothes are fitting. I don't even dread getting on the scale anymore. Thanks for keeping me going, guys!

Lots of good things going on here!

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK PEOPLE!!!!

I did manage to toss the candy… but… I did have one of each color (total of 5 robin eggs and 5 jelly beans). I was glad I got them out of the house. Next it’s the chocolate left overs…. I hate to toss it, but I don’t have a good home to send it to.

OK! I WILL TOSS THE CHOCOLATE!

I got up while posting this and the chocolate is….. GONE!!!!!!!! (thank you bye bye)

Now for a good week ahead.

Glynis, thank you for the water tip, I did do that but with a small bit of kool aid when I was prgo. For the most part it just gave the water the slightest bit of color and very little taste, but it did help.

What a good few days, thank you all so much.

I'm so glad you came over here and joined us! Keep up the good work! I'm impressed that you were able to throw out the candy!

I am a "strawberry kiwi" girl myself! :lmao:
I am drinking it as I type. Really does help get your water intake in.

Ok, Beth & I are on day #6! Whoo hoo!! Deb's jumping in with us.

So far so good..going to get in some walking today. Just did my grocery shopping..got ww's cereal, fruit, veggies, crystal light, ww's desserts, chicken breast..passed up the devil dogs! :smooth:

I am going to make a stop at Trader Joe's later for some more healthy items.

Keep up the good work ladies!

Well, I'm back. I didn't break the 30lb mark. I stayed the same this week :confused3 :sad2: :furious:

Oh well, I AM going to break that 30lb mark next week. I know I can do it. I will watch extra careful this week & try to get in more walking. Not sure what happened this week.

Good job Beth & Anne Marie on sticking to your healthy eating.

It sure is hard some days, but we have a good group here & the support really does help. :grouphug:

I guess I will just keep swimming :fish: , just keep swimming :fish: (like Dori--this is what my husband tells me to do when I get discouraged.)

Tuesday is my weigh-in day too. I was hoping to break the 40 pounds lost barrier, but it was not to be this week. I suppose a lot has to do with everything that has gone on in the past week, but it was still alittle disappointing. However, on the bright side... I have lost 38 pound total so far. So, for that I am happy. I suppose I could have gotten on the scales this a.m. and gained weight! :)

Good work everyone!

It could be that you are building muscle with the increased exercise. Don't worry, just stick with it, and the plateau will end. Good job on all your hard work!

I think it's a great thing to go through all you did this last week and not gain any weight! Stress usually causes us to overeat, and apparently you did quite well. Pat yourself on the back, and know that you are on the right track!

On a different note: I was looking at a website of cookie cutters today, and saw several musical instruments and musical notes and I thought of you. They were darling, and I wish that I could buy the whole set for you!
