DDA Chapter 9

Grr. We decided to strip all of the services except Caller ID off of our home phone. Yesterday we went to Sam's and bought a new phone with 3 handsets and a built-in answering machine. It had to charge all night, but this morning it was ready to use. DH just called me on the new phone and he said it echoes. I don't know if that is something we can fix or not. Our old phone was ancient and it was impossible to hear what a caller was saying. I can not deal with the new phone echoing. It also has all these different ring tones. I set it to a tone this morning and had DS call from his cell to test it out. Well, the regular ring tone rings OVER the tone I chose, so it makes a horrible racket. For $114 I think this phone may be going back to Sam's!

Glynis- I am glad that your camping getaway wasn't completely a bust.

Elizabeth- I've noticed our phone will echo occasionally and I think it's tied to when we have someone beeping in on Call Waiting. But if you've pulled call waiting off then that blows my theory!! Try switching the channels and see if that helps.


I spoke with our pediatrician and if she still has the fever tomorrow I am bringing her in but she thinks that it just a virus. Lucy has literally slept most of the day and when she is not asleep she has been fussing. She hasn't eaten much but is drinking her bottles. And then Emma tells me that her ear hurts too!! Yikes, it is a never ending battle!!

i have been battling a cough and post nasal drip down the back of my throat for a month now. knowing it was tied to the high mold count. Now I am having ear pain. in both ears. crud I guess I need to go to the dr tomorrow to make sure its nothing else.

Hey all...Can you all spare some pixie dust for Lucy, please?

She woke us up crying at 10:30, she was hot so I took her temperature and it was 103.6. She also seemed to be having trouble breathing. We called and got her an appt at the urgent care clinic at 11:10. Eric is still there with her and her fever is now up to 105. Apparently, they are short staffed so he's been waiting.

I hope I read on and she is feeling better....poor sweet pea

Hope Chanon does not mind me posting this, but her grandfather passed away Saturday.

DH was sitting in front of my computer when it was echoing - we think it was because he had it them too close together. I tried it and it didn't echo. I also discovered that there is a ringer built into the base, so the base and the handset ring independently. I turned off the ringer for the base. I also figured out how to make the answering part be quiet instead of being in "screen" mode where you hear the messages as they are coming in. I think I just needed some more time with the phone and the directions!

I would go get it checked out now before it gets worse. Maybe the doctor can give you something for your back while you are there!

So, I'm right with Anne Marie on the sunscreen issue! I bought a brand new tube of Banana Boat 50 spf for this camping trip, and my kids came back as red as cherry tomatoes. We applied many times during the day, and each time they came out of the water, but still got burned. Grrr.
